yung electric ba ang sinasabi mo sis? Meron sa mga appliance stores naman. Yung sa amin sa family home, Imarflex ata and it has lasted a long time. Ilang years na din sa amin yun. I was looking for one para sa apt ko, 1500 to 2000 yung range.

^pede pang toast. I think baking pede naman din kasi it goes as high as the regular ovens pero I don't know anyone na na try na ito.

We bake lasagna din dito and make cookies.

Nagcanvass ako nung isang araw sa Anson's, sabi nung SA dapat daw with convection feature yung pang bake na mini oven para umiikot yung init. My kuya bought me a mini oven almost 10 years ago, 3D yung brand, pero wala siya ng convection feature kaya madala na hindi even yung pagbake ng cookies, etc.

ANGELEIGH, I share the same opinion with you ... lolobo ang electric bill natin.

The mini ovens are good for lasagna, crostinis, baked spaghetti, solo pizzas... ganoon.  For heating too, if like others -- you think microwaves zap dead vitamins or nutrition out of food.
I do not think these are okay for baking cakes and cupcakes even.  There just isn't enough area for the hot air to circulate???
But do not take my word on this ... the expert one is KUSINERA311.  (I do not know her personally, but she has all the answers to food-related queries. Atchaka, hindi madamot to share her knowledge.  :) )

I also want to clarify this convection oven thing.  It is good for dense cakes or pastries like cup cakes, rum cakes, fruit cakes. ganoon.   But for light cakes like the sponges, etc... hwag daw .. that is what Heny Sison told me.

Thanks for sharing sis. At least I know that I shouldn't purchase a mini oven kahit may convection feature pa siya for baking cakes and the like. Takot kasi ako mag operate nung oven na gas yung gamit. :(

I have a student whose father used to be a chef, or still am. I asked him if okay lang ba to buy those oven i see in malls, about 2k to 3k. electric ones. he told me na those type of ovens are not sulit in the long run, kasi daw,if you dont clean them well after use, the dirt/leftover things inside, tend to stick daw and then mahirap linisin and ultimately, wont work na daw .  He told me to buy those mga La Germania, specifically, yun gasul- type. Mas okay daw don and you can bake all sort of food and pastries you want

I use a small convection oven for bakin ang roasting.. Imarflex yung tatak. How much, that I dont know. Regalo lang sya sakin. :D

So far, I'm liking the end result of my cooking when I use it. I've been using gas type before. What happens sa gas type, hindi centralized yung init. Hot air lingers on the top most part of the oven lang. So the tendency is that, mas madaling maluto/masunog yung kung ano mang nasa top level. Let say, cookies.... Mas madaling masunog yung nasa taas.  :-\

With convection oven kasi, may fan sa loob. So there is a continuous flow of hot air that goes around every nook and cranny of your food.. And it's so small, you can preheat your oven in 5 minutes and its good to go.

In my convection oven, I have tried cooking unlimited number of sponge cakes, brownies, cupcakes, roasted chicken, Lasagna, cookies and just the other day for hubby's birthday, a blueberry cheesecake.

What I can advise you though, sa may convection oven, if the recipe calls for a 170 deg.c, lagay nyo lang sa 140-150deg.c. And ikilian nyo lang yung time of cooking. Let say, 1hr.. Check nyo ng 45-50 minutes. Basta mas mabilis ang cooking time sa convection oven.

Plus you can also use your priced pyrexes.. :)) Tried on mine. No worries. hehe :D

HTH :)
