Sophie Kinsella and her books

Hehe ako naman sobrang hindi ko nagustuhan yung Undomestic Goddess. Parang tinapos ko na lang kasi nasimulan ko na. Wala din akong LOL moment unlike sa iba niyang books na napapatawa talaga ko kahit nasa public place pa ko.

^Same here haha Kahit sobrang relatable ng character sa akin hindi ako nag-enjoy. Yung Can You Keep A Secret pa rin nagpatawa sa akin ng malakas.

 Hi mga sis, i haven't read her books, but my 12 year old wants to buy one because she heard it from her friends. Can you highly recommend SK's books for tweens? And what titles will I buy  that will suit her..Thanks!!!

^Hmmm... ok lang ba sis kahit may konti (konti lang naman) na sexual content? Kasi ok sana yung Twenties Girl kaso may part dun na nanilip si Sadie sa alam mo na na ginawa ni Lara with the guy haha pero wala naman description. Sa Can You Keep A Secret naman may usapan about the "event" na mangyayari; how excited Emma is sa "event" na yun haha Remember Me may adultery dito. Undomestic Goddess, wala akong maalala (bakit ba di to memorable sa akin kahit kelan haha).

Sa Shopaholic isa palang nababasa ko. Yung first book, ok din siya. Walang sexual content.

^LOL, di pwede sa tweens ang Undomestic Goddess. May "moment" din dun, pero knowing Kinsella, hindi sya nagmukhang bastusin.

Ok naman ang Shopaholic series for tweens. Pero syempre one per year lang muna, haha! Kase para yung mind ng bata nag-eevolve din.

^May konti sa una, remember yung "first time" nila ni Luke Brandon. Very wholesome naman si Becky. 

Kaya ko naman like yung The Undomestic Goddess is because of its theme, yung tipong you'll give up everything just to have time for yourself and for love. Favorite quote: "I’ve found out what it’s like to have a life! I’ve found out what it’s like not working every weekend. Not feeling pressure all the time. And…I like it!"

And maganda rin naman talaga yung Can You Keep a Secret. Ang kulit ni Emma eh. Pero kase mas nag-stay sa akin yung TUG.

Finished Twenties Girl na. It was soooo nice.

I really like Kinsella's stand-alone books better. Shopaholic gave me reverse nosebleed, no offense

Ako hindi ko na yan pinapatulan. Eh sa ganun ang pagkakilala sa atin eh. And marami talagang maid/nanny na Pinoy, wala na tayong magagawa dun. And, I think, the main reason why nababanggit tayo sa novels or any type of written material for that matter is that may first-hand experience talaga ang writers with Pinoys. Siguro hindi na dapat pinapalaki ng ibang tao. Hindi lahat ng panahon kay Manny or Charice lang tayo maa-aasociate. Come to think of it, these people rely on the Filipinos for service, and great service at that.

On to the topic, I'm hoping to buy Twenties Girl real soon. Tight budget really!

Loved it. It was great what Lara did for Sadie.
And at the same time,what Sadie did for Lara din naman.

i love sophie kinsella. her books are very entertaining. among all her books, i am most inlove with the shopaholic series. i so can relate to becky's character being a self-confessed shopaholic too. lol

@feelpretty: i totally agree with you. when i read something 'bout the Philipines dun sa book, ok lang. masyado lang naman kasing nagiging big deal dahil Filipino tayo, but come to think of it, it's just another character and besides wala namang bad comment na andun. so i don't dwell too much.

Just finished Twenties Girl and having read all her books as Sophie Kinsella i can say this is by far my most favorite.  It made me want to know more about the 1920's fashion and music. I hope they'd make it into a movie.
