Ever been to Kota Kinabalu?

we just went to KK last june 23. medyo disappointing eh. i prefer the philippines. weird lang na late mag open mall and stores nila and then maaga magsara. if you are going there, please get a good hotel and bring mosquito repellant. overall nagenjoy kame sa hotel. we stayed in pacific sutera.

After months of researching, sa city park lodge na ko nagpabook. Cheap and within the city, para na rin mas marami kami mapuntahan.  Sana di maulan dun, we'll be there last week ng october

don't expect much sa city park lodge. even the places near the hotel. actually nung andun kame parang wala mashadong nag oopen na establishments. parang they open late and then they close early. we think na lang na may dasal or samba sila kaya maaga din sila nagsasara.

what we did is transfer ng hotel to pacific sutera. yung mga malls na dadaanan going to sutera mas okay compared sa area ng city lodge. hope you enjoy the beaches =)

p.s. don't forget your adapter (walang pinapahiram ang city park)

We stayed in city park lodge in May 2012, specifically in room 202. Ok naman stay namin. May malapit (2 blocks away yata to the right) na grocery wherein nakabili din kami ng cheap white coffee (ito kc lagi habol ko s MY). malaki CR ng room namin. Ask the receptionist if may other pinoys staying para sabay-sabay na kayo pag-island hopping. Sa case kc namin ganun nangyari, sakto may kasabay kami kaya kami na naging magkakasama sa island hopping.

Super saya ng KK Trip namin. Ang babait ng mga tao at napakayaman ng culture nila. If interested kayo sa mala-educational trip, KK is for you. the best ang Mari-Mari Cultural Village!

this may be late. pero yes they have. so glad that we tried it sa last dinner namin there haha! we were at this big mall and looking for a place to eat na mura and different. e puro mahal and usual fastfood ang nkikita namin and meron din dito sa pinas. so dito nalang kami. i liked there chicken too!

i love city park lodge. sobrang bait ng receptionist. omg i dont remember her name. last year pa kasi to.  the lodge is near eateries, and yes a grocery is nearby, pagtawid lang. iang mura ng cadbury chocs na nabili namin here, nakasale kasi that time. the lodge is also very near the sunday market and the trail for the short trek.

the beaches are nice too but really crowded. i wouldnt recommend the zipline though dun sa island hopping. mejo pricey haha then maikli lang. the second island we went to (hindi yung manukan) has really really nice corals. not many snorkle naman mostly tamabay lang sila sa beach. mabuti na rin para enjoy magskindive and snorkle.

Di kami masyado nakalibot ni hubby sa KK.    Kasi may sakit siya. Pero nagenjoy kami sa food trip! sarap ng mga food! Naglist ako ng mga food na kinain namin sa blog ko and I posted pictures para reference ng mga pupunta palang.

Im considering of going back to KK for my solo trip (btw, it will be my 3rd time, if ever). Ano po ba mga bago sa KK? I heard may island to island zipline? How much kaya rate? Was in KK pala 2010 and 2012.

Ay hindi namin natry yung zipline na yun sis kasi may sakit si hubby nung andun kami. Pero nabasa ko yun sa isa pang blog. No idea nga lang how much.

I wonder if the author of this thread finally visited the country. If yes, can you help to find the feedback on the trip? Now it is my turn to go, and I have the same standard question what places and areas to visit. I looked for reviews online and have come across very contradicting opinions.
