mag-DIY na lang kayo, since marami naman kayo, for sure makakamura pa rin kayo with the tour, if u will go island hopping, hanapin nyo sa jesselton si gherald estijal, sya kinuha namin na nag-arrange ng island hopping namin, discounted yung boat rental exclusive for us, we are a group of 6, and since Pinoy cia and kami, additional discount, pati na rin sa activities sa islands, like snorkeling and parasailing discounted din, much better if you will rent a boat para na rin hindi hassle.

with the city tour and kinabalu park-botanical garden-poring hotspring-canopy walk, much better if you will rent a car na lang para at least sama-sama kayo and comfortable kayo sa byahe and wala kayong kasama na iba ang amoy.. hehe! RM180.00 rent namin sa car, lahat-lahat na yun, except entrances.

Sorry, ngayon lang kasi ulit ako nadalaw dito. Wala pa kami place na mapag-stayan pero yun mga friends ko na nakapunta na dun, sabi nila sa Lavender Lodge daw kami mag-stay. Wala pa rin kami plans na gagawin dun bilang gusto rin namin magside trip sa Brunei. Yun nga lang, mukhang kulang ang 4 days para magawa 'to.

Sige, basta ba makakatipid, why not? Plan kasi namin na di lumagpas ng 10K ang trip na 'to.

Promo yun air fare namin. We paid 1600 lang, round trip via Air Asia. Tapos, we plan to have 10K budget for this trip.

As of the moment, we have no final details yet on what to do in Kota. We are still in the process of reading blogs and forum para makakuha ng tips.

wengy00, good choice yang Lavender Lodge. Dyan ako nag stay when I went to KK. Ayos siya kasi Pinay yung mga nasa reception. Nung dumating ako dun, may prinomote si Ate sa reception na tour going to see the proboscis monkeys. Medyo expensive nga lang, but if you can find a cheaper tour, go for it. Okay naman siya, kasama na transpo, merienda and buffet dinner.

Puede kayo mag island hopping, medyo cheap naman siya. RM10 admission for all the islands. Yung fee ng boat di rin naman masyadong mahal.

You can also go to the Kinabalu park without going up the mountain. I hear maganda daw dun.

^ Madali lang mag DIY. Bili lang kayo ng ticket for the ferry sa Jesselton port. Dun pipili kayo kung saan mga islands kayo papa drop off. Then sa mga islands, bayad lang kayo once. Keep the ticket para pag dating sa next island, di na kayo magbabayad.

May mga mabibilhan naman ng food, but syempre mas mahal kesa sa mainland.

regarding KK and KL IT - yes, very possible po, abang na lang kayo ng promo sa airasia para sa airfare.

shanngri-la tanjung aru = we were able to look around the area here as we are waiting for the shuttle going to Rasa Ria, ok naman, maganda pool pero bawal and as in hindi talaga pwedeng paliguan ang beach dahil mukhang port and puro malalaking bato (think of baywalk less the foul smell).

shangri-la rasa ria = sobrang layo from the city as in, mga 30-45mins na travel pero sobrang laki ng place. maganda pero di na-meet expectation ko. hehe! pwede maligo sa beach kaso at your own risk as per the attendant's advise, anyway, gabi na kasi nung nagtanong kami, so kung maliligo sa beach ng umaga til hapon, sagot ka naman nila siguro if ever na may mangyari. ang hirap i-describe ng place, basta maganda, great service, great food, and with very friendly and accomodating staffs.

if you will consider shopping, much better if KL muna since maraming choices and slightly cheaper than in KK. check nyo na lang po airasia if san kayo mas
makakamura whether KK-KL or KL first then KK.

yung sa rasa ria namin sis is twin room forest view is Php 17k per night, with free buffet breakfast, by the way 3 po kami na nagshare sa room and lahat kami free buffet breakfast din (we thought kasi baka for 2 pax lang yung free buffet breakfast). bitin kami sa 1 night stay, as in super madali na kami the following day, early gumising para makapag-swim then buffet breakfast tas ligo then pahatid na going to the airport, layo kasi ng rasa ria to KKIA.

btw, fee for airport transfer from rasa ria to KKIA is MYR 90.00, i think innova yung sinakyan namin, nagulat pa nga kami kasi offer ng attendant is teksi (taxi) so we thought as in cab talaga.. special pala.. hehe!

have checked airasia's promo and wala nga for KK-KL, mag-KK to SG na lang kayo.. hehe!

regarding other resorts, wala na po kaming na-try, talagang aim namin when we visit KK is ma-try ang shangri-la rasa ria.. =D

when I went to KL last 2008 and to KK last March 2010, ok naman ang airasia, i never encountered any delays naman or not so good experience with them. so far, airasia and jetstar pa lang naman na-try kong planes and halos pareho lang naman sila except that parang mejo maingay ang sound ng plane sa airasia.. hehe!

chocolatepink: Depende sa flight schedules na gusto mo. Check mo kung mas favorable sayo yung flights ng Manila to KL, KL to KK, etc. But if you're planning on doing some shopping, huli mo KL kasi mas madami options mo to shop in Kuala Lumpur.
