Yes. The slightest tremors awaken the praning in me. That's why when flying, I always request to be seated at the front/back of the plane. I refuse to sit near the wing area because it's the part that shakes most.

Yes as in. Whenever there's turbulence, I would always pray instantly. That's why I would drag myself with sleeping pill before the plane takes off. :)

It bothers me but I stay calm. I think it helped that I read a lot about the science behind air turbulence -- that really helped. Pero may mga times din na it's hard to stay calm, especially when people around you start to panic.

The trip that was the worse for me happened early this year from SFO - Las Vegas. It was a rough ride and the plane dropped several times. Almost everybody in that flight reacted to the turbulence. All you can do is pray lang talaga for the flight crew to have presence of mind.

I hated flights before and was too paranoid for air turbulence; however, sinabi ng American friend namin na, "If you continue to be frightened when you fly, you'll never see the world."

I really pray and stay calm. Plus I study the science behind air turbulence.

freeswan - Avoid watching those shows by all means. Better if you read up online. May mga explanation for air turbulence... and then how they make planes.. makakatulong 'to. Kasi you'll see how they test planes before they even allow it to fly. Hope you get over your phobia and end up seeing the world.

^ thanks sis! i really travel a lot. pero domestic pa lang destinations ko so longest flight ko was an hour and 45 minutes long. i always stay sa front area ng plane tsaka i make sure i sleep pag nasa byahe. funny thing is, tuwing plane rides lang ako nakakacomplete ng rosary. hahaha. i dread the day pag halimbawang pupunta na ako ng ibang countries na tig 8 hours yung byahe. yikes!

Nung una mild turbulence Lang yung parang slight shake Lang. Suddenly nagdrop bigla even yung FA if Hindi nakahawak sa armrest mapapaupo. And everyone reacted, most na tumili mga babae hehe.

I don't normally get bothered, pero yung pinaka-worse ko na flight eh yung japan-manila flight ko. turbulence was really bad, and i could not wait for the whole journey to end. kaya after nun, never na akong sumakay ng airline na yun. may nabasa kasi ako na minsan, it also depends on the pilot at kung gaano siya kagaling. don't know if this is true, but just the same, ayaw ko na umulit dun sa airline na yun

The route from MNL to ICN or NRT has air pockets especially  somewhere over the Taiwan area. The planes have radars and color-coded indicators to detect areas with bad weather, so they can deviate and avoid. But there are instances there's clear air turbulence, hence, the need for belts even while cruising. Not really the pilots' fault because by that time, the plane is already in autopilot. After the shakes, kino-correct na Lang ulit ng aircraft yung self Nya.

On a Seoul trip once, I was alone, seated on the middle bulkhead when a sudden drop happened. Napa-grip tightly talaga ako sa armrests ko nun n yung crossed legs ko biglang naging sitting straight ako. LOL. Yung cabin crew namin buckled up, too. No announcement pa yun ha. When I arrived, I went to our airport office, balita na pala yung deep plunge namin. Haha.

Another flight on hubby's carrier naman, HKGMNL Lang and I was the only "civilian" in mabuhay class. The other 6 people were all pilots. When the plane dropped, my stomach was in my throat at napa-"ay" ako. Good thing my voice was so faint, no one noticed. My hubby looked up from his paper, then deadma. Haha.
