hello sis somar. i myself is a probinsyana but i've been here in manila for almost 4 years now. i will try to answer  your q's to the best of my knowledge.

1. taxis are always the best mode of transportation for me especially if you want to go directly to your destination. There are 3 types of taxis in the airport but the  cheapest would be the metered taxis on the farthest taxi terminal. going to UP, it would be around P300-P350 maximum.

2. from PICC which is from roxas blvd., you can take fx going to sucat baba ka ng baclaran then take the bus going to fairview. baba ka ng philcoa and then take UP jeep from there. this would take about 2-3 hours depending on the traffic. fares are: fx to baclaran: 15, bus to philcoa 35, jeep to UP 7.

3. yung fersal inn sa kalayaan mukhang okay naman. tricycle ka lang going to philcoa then jeep to UP. alam ko meron pang ibang pwedeng tuluyan in matalino, and kalayaan and inner streets di lang ako familiar. mostly kasi dito boarding houses.

4. tourist destination.. hmmmm la mesa ecopark is near. trinoma and sm north is one ride away. meron din jeep across commonwealth ave. going to quiapo and from there you can go to the church or go to divisoria.

been working here in UP Diliman campus since i came here in manila pero di ko pa din memorize places sa UP.

I wanna go with him sana and was thinking of making pasyal during his seminar. hehe... I'm more interested with Divisoria para makapamili and Manila Ocean Park. hehe... Salamat talaga sa info sis.

nakatapak na rin ako ng manila for about 1 day. yey!hanggang tapak nga lang. hehe. but i've been to moa ha and then nakasakay na din ako ng mrt. tapos nakapagbiyahe na rin ako from novaliches to moa. o db? what an achievement somehow. hehe. di bale balik ako next time.

if pupunta ako ng divisoria from the airport, anong sasakyan ko? Saang banda ang DV Soria? Sorry talaga. Plano kasi namin from the airport dederetso ng mall of asia or divi soria then up diliman.

^sis somar, are you sure you want to go to divisoria right after you land at the airport? Hindi ba sobrang hassle yun lalo na kung may mga bagahe kayong dala? Kasi sobrang daming tao sa divisoria, medyo siksikan. So probably, head off to moa first kaysa sa divisoria kasi mas malapit yun sa airport. Moa is in pasay, while divisoria is in manila.

^^ sis i agree with sis rasee16 malaking hassle if you are going straight to DV from the airport. nung nagpunta nga kami ng friend ko doon eh isang cel algn dala ko and a very small non distinguishing pouch pa so that i won't attract snatchers.

sis mukhang hindi ata na mention if galing terminal 2 (tama ba if PAL domestic sakyan ko) to MOA or kung papuntang greenbelt (which is easier to go to) paano kaya iyon? Sorry di talaga ako sanay mag-commute sa manila eh

@sisrasee16, thanks sa info.Pero hindi ko talaga kabisado ang manila.For now,change plan kami kasi mga 4PM na ang arrival namin sa Manila and we'll go directly to UP

Questions again mga sis:
Sa time na 2PM, possible paba na makapunta kami sa mall of asia from UP? Anong pwedeng sasakyan sis?
Ano pang pwedeng puntahan na malapit lang sa airport? 1st flight kasi kami the following day so we're trying to check pasyalan na closest ang proximity sa naia3.

sis somar kung galing kang terminal 3 pwede ka ring sumakay ng shuttle hanggang mrt/lrt iyon sa pasay. 20 pesos ang bayad. usually eto sinasakyan ko pag pauwi ako ng bahay. ang mrt/lrt station ay malapit lang sa mcdo/chowking/sogo. akyat ka sa hagdan paakyat ng mrt. then bili ka ng ticket papuntang cubao tapos sakay sa cubao ng papuntang fairview. baba ka sa may philcoa or sa qc city hall. alam ko may papunta na ng UP doon.

Questions again mga sis:
Sa time na 2PM, possible paba na makapunta kami sa mall of asia from UP? Anong pwedeng sasakyan sis?
- sakay ka ng bus papuntang baclaran or mia. dadaan na ang mga bus galing philcoa or qc city hall.

Ano pang pwedeng puntahan na malapit lang sa airport? 1st flight kasi kami the following day so we're trying to check pasyalan na closest ang proximity sa naia3.
-moa lang ang alam kong malapit sa naia3 actually medyo may kalayuan nga rin eh. mas malapit pa iyong mall sa may magallanes. di ko lang napapasok pa kasi kakagawa lang iyon.

^sis, thanks talaga. hays, I know napakalaki ng Manila and this will be the first time na pupunta ako doon. hays talaga very short notice lang kaya nagkandarapa na ako sa pagresearch. hehe

^sis, if you want mag SM North Edsa ka na lang or Trinoma. One ride lang siya UP, may jeep kasi from UP na biyahe dun. At least malapit lang. From what I heard maganda na ang SM City.

sis, pwede ka pa naman magpunta sa mall of asia. ang kakain lang kasi ng oras mo ay yung biyahe. pag traffic, patience is a must. MOA closes at 10pm, if i am not mistaken. from UP (i presume diliman ang dinasabi mo), sabi nga ni sis shegothim meron namang transpo papuntas ng baclaran. pag nakarating ka na ng baclaran or kahit sa buendia (corner taft avenue) nga lang eh madali mo nang matutunton ang MOA. merong shuttles sa buendia na diretso sa MOA.

medyo malayo ang MOA sa NAIA...pero pwede na rin basta just be conscious of the time. pwede ka rin tumambay sa blue wave, or sa bagaberde (gimik...hehe). 

next trip mo sa manila, try to check out old landmarks na hindi masyado binibigyang pansin ng manileños/-ñas but they (including the biyaheros) should really be aware of:
-national library (sa t.m. kalaw)
-national museum (sa finance road, papunta rin ng manila city hall ang way. that's also where the old philippine senate used to be)
-senate of the philippines (GSIS bldg., roxas boulevard)
-house of representatives (QC)

some other areas na ok bisitahin pero dapat todo ingat at always be alert ka:
-binondo (chinese community since Rizal's time pa)
-sta. cruz (kung saan madalas ganapin ang shooting ng mga old action movies)
-avenida (downtown manila noong araw, dito malapit ang original SM Shoemart)

these are places that aren't really FAB like bonifacio high street (taguig), trinoma (QC), glorietta & greenbelt (makati), but these would somehow allow you to relate sa Filipino culture and society.

hello mga sis. andito na ako sa up ngayon.  hehe...
hindi na kami nakapag trinoma or sm north. grabe ang ulan, hindi kami makagala. this afternoon kami pupuntang MAll of Asia, then proceed directly sa Naia3 na. Thanks talaga sa mga inputs. Hopefully pagbalik namin next year, mapuntahan kona yong mga sites na sina suggest ninyo.
