Ano ba magandang menu for home kiddie parties? Please share

here's what we are preparing for my daughter's party:

- on-the-spot grilled burgers (I'll leave it up to guests on how they will "dress up" their burgers. I'll prepare a variety of condiments and toppings)
- chili con carne
- carbonara
- nachos (the chili con carne can be used as a topping for this, talk about versatility!) - I'm getting it from a supplier for Php 100 per big bag
- grilled steaks and chicken - hubby's request
- fajitas -> guests can use the chili con carne, grilled steak and chicken as filling for this.
- a veggie dish (maybe buttered marble potatoes)
- for desserts: assorted cookies and choco cake from Big Al's Cookie Jar and an ice cream bar where guests can choose the toppings to put on their ice cream

Hi.  For the party of my little boys, here's the menu:

Appetizers : Cocktail hotdog w/marshmallow on toothpicks
                 Chicken lollipops

Salad:  Mixed vegetable salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing

Pasta:  Kiddie spaghetti w/ garlic bread (adults) or colored bread (kids)

*I prepared 2 batches.  For the kids, I made the sauce sweeter.

Viand:  Pork embotido
          Beef caldereta
          Fish fillet
          Chicken pastel

Dessert:  Leche flan
             Birthday cake and cupcakes

Drinks:  Orange juice for the kids
           Soda, beer and wine for the adults

*Nabusog naman ang guests.  I and our mayordoma prepared the food, except for the fish fillet, chicken pastel and birthday cake and cupcakes, which we ordered.  The best compliment I got was from my caterer-friend who said she found the food superb!

^^Sis san ka umorder ng fish fillet? Im thinking of home-made chicken nuggets din instead of the usual fried chicken pero baka di din maenjoy ng mga kids. I'll have both na lang siguro.

^oh i think the kids will enjoy the chicken nuggets. tip so that you wont spend a lot of time making the nuggets, you can buy ready-made ones from belcap near xavierville in qc. the chicken nuggets there are very much similar to the ones sold in mcdo. just fry it then prepare different type of sauces

^^ I ordered the fish fillet and chicken pastel from CCME.

By the way, if you want to have chicken nuggets or chicken fingers for the kids, you can have it prepared by Magnolia.  I called Magnolia at Landmark grocery a day before the party and asked them to prepare the chicken lollipops (as I do not want the frozen lollipops on display) for pick-up the following day.

I normally  prepare this menu every other year for my daughters' bdays
option 1:

appetizer: Cocktail hotdogs with pinapple & mallows

viand: Roast Pork in Cream Sauce
         Vegetable salpicao
          barbeque
          chicken breast fillet

pasta: fettucini

Desert: cupcakes  and ice cream

Drinks: soda

option 2:

appetizer: Cocktail hotdogs with pinapple & mallows
               barbeque

viand: Caldereta
         Chopsuey
          siomai
          Lomi/Molo soup


pasta: pancit canton/bihon

Desert: suman

Drinks: soda/ iced tea

option 3: all miryenda

appetizer: Cocktail hotdogs with pinapple & mallows

pasta: spaghetti
          pancit canton/bihon
          fettucini
          lumpiang shanghai
     
Desert: mini cupcakes & suman

Drinks: soda/ iced tea/ juice

and my daughters b & our visitors enjoyed going to our party so much...

marose, are the chicken lollipop breaded already or ikaw pa nag-lagay ng breading? im thinking if it's worth it to prepare myself or order na lang from CCME

^yeah and how much are those per kilo?

^ I forgot the exact amount, but it's P100+ per kilo for the chicken lollies (no extra cost for the labor) so tipid if you do it yourself rather than order.

^^ Ally, we do the breading mixture at home: bread crumbs, all-purpose flour, salt and pepper.  We dip the marinated chicken lollipops in egg whites prior to dipping in the breading mixture.  After frying, our maid puts pre-cut foil to wrap around the bone so that kids won't end up with messy hands.  The last part lang yung tedious.

^ We do the breading ourselves.  I don't want kasi kung ano-ano nakalagay na seasonings sa breading mixture.  We just use salt and pepper.

- fried chicken or chicken lollipops
- hotdogs (either in a bun or in a stick)

- fresh lumpia
- birthday cake

^i think marose answered na your question sis. Based on her posts sis, d pa breaded yung binili nya kasi gusto ni marose macontrol ano ilalagay sa breading plus pinaprep nya yung chicken lollies sa magnolia station sa trinoma.

oo sis stormy, anyway thanks! Siguro i'll try to contact na lang sa magnolia by the way! Eto bang magnolia sa trinoma e mismo factory or just a store? Sensya na wala kase ko idea dyan sa pinas, actually! Im just the one planning that party then guiding them na lang what to do

Bale poultry meat section tapos may different choices ka kung anong cut at anong part ng chicken (may breast, thigh, wings etc then may ground chicken meat, may marinated chicken etc ).
