Until how many months did you use your carrier? Sulit ba siya bilhin or can I just simply do without it?

We just bought our Aprica less than two months ago but I've been wearing my baby on a sling on and off since she was less than a month old.  We actually find the baby carrier and sling more sulit than the stroller.  My daughter can stay in the stroller maybe 15-20 minutes maximum of no fussing but after that, she gets bored and creates a ruckus.  When she's in the carrier or sling, we can wear her for 2-3 hours straight and she stays mostly happy and contented, plus we have our hands free pa to do other things :-)

still Babybjorn.  :) maganda yun babybjorn synergy, kasi may lumbar support and airy pa kasi yun material nya breathable. maganda din ang Ergo but the hitch is hindi pwede si baby facing outward.  :)

sis, ako i prefer a carrier over a stroller kasi. it's easy to carry around. you can try the sling pero usually not advised for newborn kasi wala sya back support.

I use Aprica - may set up for newborn, can carry baby facing you or facing towards the front and pwede din ala back pack style for toddlers :)

my baby doesnt want to be put in a stroller, he likes the carrier better. besides, it's better kasi may skin to skin contact pa din kayo kahit papano :)

I have a saya carrier na, kaya lang pag tinitingnan ko posisyon ni baby sa cradle position, ako nahihirapan para sa kanya. Sobrang compact ng katawan nya, yung chin nya nakadikit na sa chest.

I bought the smallest size na SSK, cos I'm 5'3 and payat.

I'm planning to get a Maclaren Kate Spade twilight baby carrier. Has anyone used this or a maclaren brand? Is it any good? Ang concern ko kasi if kakasiya siya kung gagamitin din ni hubby for baby.
I was able to try the maclaren nung sa demo samin before we got baby bjorn. if your baby's on the big side lalo na sa legs, medyo magiging problem to. also the material used doesn't look at breathable as baby bjorn.

My saya carrier just arrived, and I'm not sure if it's too small or I just don't know how to use it. Planning to use it pa naman this Sat for children's blessing.  :'(

I prefer pouches over carriers, pero nakakatakot nga yung incident ng suffocation shared above. ^

i used to just have a ring sling... now i have a saya carrier too... both are easy to use

ring sling is still so much more flexible

saya naman can double as bolero of sorts when not in use, instant wardrobe accessory

I did not end up using my Hug-a-Bub wrap when Zoe was a newborn because my incision made my tummy area so sensitive.  I ended up selling it.  Now that Zoe's nearly 4 months' old and I can carry her without pain, I bought another carrier: BECO BUTTERFLY II .  I haven't received it yet, excited na ako to use it :)

I was supposed to get an Ergo but there are reviews about them being too long for Asians and besides, the Beco is a lot prettier :D

By the way, it is not recommended to carry babies facing forward so I didn't mind that the Beco Butterfly II does not have that feature.

Quote
The main reason for wearing baby inward facing is their spinal development. An infants spine does not develop into the adult S shape until they are about a year old (walking). Until that time their spine develops in stages and incorrect pressure on the spine can cause possible damage. The spine, hip and pelvis are ALL connected and carrying baby outward facing or with legs hanging down does not support babies hip and pelvis development.

All carriers should position baby with their knees higher than their bottom. Facing outwards, (unless baby is placed in a frog-legged position), hangs baby by the crotch, risking hip and pelvis development, and causes baby’s spine to curve at the base like an adult’s spine rather than in the primary c-curve that is necessary for optimal spine development and future health.

In addition to this, the ERGObaby carrier is designed in compliance with the recommendations of Dr. Evelin Kirkilionis.

According to Kirkilionis: “Infants in outward-facing orientations can’t turn away from surrounding stimuli. They can’t turn inward toward a parent’s body if stimuli become overwhelming. In this position the baby cannot make eye contact with his or her parent to evaluate facial expressions, social cues, and so forth to make assessment of the situation. Only choose a baby carrier that allows your child to face you … never out. There are too many events going on around your baby. A baby has no way to exclude himself from the environment by turning his head away and towards you. Healthy sleep is difficult for a baby who is facing outward. I am not a supporter of the outward facing method of carrying a child.”

From – A Baby Wants To Be Carried by Dr. Eveline Kirkilionis (available in German) Dr. Kirkilionis is a human development specialist who has researched babywearing since 1985

Sabi nga nila the Beco is more for petite women. Since hindi ako petite, we have the Ergo and it really
is very comfortable. I can carry my almost 2 year old for hours without feeling discomfort. And sobrang useful talaga
lalo na sa airports where I have my hands full. I just pop her onto my back leaving my 2 hands free to hold
my 5 year old's hand and our carry-on luggage.

I am having a harder time to bfeed with the SaYa... but it's easier to put my baby right in there than the sling

Has anyone tried the Manduca?  It's a German brand of SSC (soft structured carrier).  I just got my Beco but was intrigued by the Manduca after reading it in a forum.

How much is the Ergo in the Philippines and where is it available?
