sling din- r jelly brand  gamit ko ke baby. sa una medyo hirap ako gamitin.kaya di ko na lang tinatangal yung pagkaayaos ko sa ring para ishoot ko na lang si baby then adjust ko para sikipan.

yung ring sling ba ang best for breastfeeding? not the pouch kind?

either one pwede, benefit lang nun ring sling is that it has a tail that you can use as a cover-up din. when my baby was smaller, i preferred the ring sling kasi parang there's more control for me, madaling i-tighten or to secure the baby more closely to me. but when my baby was malikot na, the pouch was easier to use kasi literally wear, put baby in, and go na sya.

try mo to bf ng nakahiga (side-lying) or while sitting na may pillow supporting the baby. it's important na comfortable ka para maging comfortable din si baby. remember din na pag buhat mo si baby ng traditional bf position, tummy to tummy kayo dapat - nakaharap sya sa yo. ako kasi yun big mistake ko noon is nakahiga talaga si baby sa arm ko at nakabaling yun leeg nya towards the breast. nahihirapan pala si baby pag ganun position so iyak sya ng iyak. akala ko its because wala sya makuha milk, yun pala dahil sa position nya.

CPSC issues warning about baby slings after infant deaths

Fri, Mar 12, 2010 (BabyCenter News) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is advising parents and caregivers to be cautious when using infant slings for babies younger than four months of age.

In researching incident reports from the past 20 years, CPSC identified and is investigating at least 14 deaths associated with sling-style infant carriers, including three in 2009. Twelve of the deaths involved babies younger than four months of age.

Slings can pose two different types of suffocation hazards to babies. In the first few months of life, babies cannot control their heads because of weak neck muscles. The sling's fabric can press against an infant's nose and mouth, blocking the baby's breathing and rapidly suffocating a baby within a minute or two. Additionally, slings that keep the infant in a curled position, with the chin bent toward the chest, can restrict airways, limiting the oxygen supply. The baby will not be able to cry for help and can slowly suffocate.

Many of the babies who died in slings were either a low birth weight twin, were born prematurely, or had breathing issues such as a cold. Therefore, CPSC urges parents of preemies, twins, babies in fragile health, and those with low weight to use extra care and consult their pediatricians about using slings.

Two months ago, the CPSC added slings to the list of durable infant products that require a mandatory standard. Additionally, CPSC staff is actively investigating these products to determine what additional action may be appropriate. Until a mandatory standard is developed, CPSC is working with ASTM International to quickly complete an effective voluntary standard for infant sling carriers.

What you can do:
The CPSC recommends that parents and caregivers make sure their baby's face is not covered and is visible at all times to the sling's wearer. If nursing the baby in a sling, change the baby's position after feeding so the baby's head is facing up and is clear of the sling and the mother's body. Parents and caregivers should be vigilant about frequently checking their baby in a sling.

^sis, heres my post before with the Saya...

"Saya carrier is 2 pouches intertwined - one as the lead sling, other is the support. Its made of stretch fabric kaya pwede from til older babies.   Pwedeng different positions for baby.  Super comfy gamitin, though takes a lot of getting used to at first when putting it on.  Good outthing, same size kami ni hubby, kaya minsan he baby wears our baby.  We get lots of stares and smiles from people in malls, and churches when they see us in the Saya, especially when baby is on a front facing position.  Masaya kami sa Saya!"

We used the Saya when my baby was 1 month old, we put her in the cradle position.  It worked well for us.  baby is super comfortable with it. Now at 6 mos, I put her in the Saya whenever we're out and simply when I need to be semi-hands free.  Hindi mainit if air con.  But I noticed that if the weather is hot/humid, with both bodies touching, we tend to perspire. Maybe it's not the Saya, but the touching bodies. Kaya, I let her come out once in a while pag nasa mall.  But still, would not trade the Saya would any pouch/sling.  Btw, we got it in Babyland para masukat namin ni hubby!

sis, 2 month pa kasi si baby, kaya baka cradle position din. pag nasa loob si baby, need pa din ba alalayan ng hands natin yun body? balak ko kasi use it sa house, kapag nangungulit si baby and meron akong need gawin and para bawas din sa pagod sa kakakarga

^ sis, once in awhile you need to support baby with your hands.  na try ko yan 2x while working around the house when baby us super fussy, okay naman kaya lang mabigat si baby kaya masakit sa katawan in the end.  pero di ko rin sinanay sa karga si baby, kami mahihirapan, but pag nasa labas, id rather sling her than put her in a stroller.

^ I have both pouch and ring sling. Unfortunately, the pouch from SG is a bit big for me, my daughter is positioned a bit too low.

I have the Bosom Buddy ring sling, bought it from Babyland Eastwood. It has padding so your shoulders won't hurt, unlike the Next9. I use it when I go to malls. I dont release my baby totally. Slings are not supposed to replace your hands. It's just to give support. Ok naman si baby, tulog lang sya sa sling.

Ang weird lang minsan, yung mga tao tititigan ka talaga kung ano yung nakabalot sayo!!! Sisilip pa sila sa loob when I pass by them. Kakaconscious tuloy!

i'm still using both the ring sling and pouch for my 22-month old daughter. i prefer the pouch kasi mas madali sya suot lalo na pagmasyado malikot baby ko. pero nun medyo tumaba ako, yun ring sling lang nagagamit ko. ang sabi naman ng mga makers you can use the ring sling and pouch until the baby weighs 30lbs. but i guess depende rin sa maker and ring/material na gamit.
