Before I didn't like coffee, but now I can't function if I didn't get to drink a cup for breakfast!

I usually put soymilk and mascovado in my coffee at home. I noticed that if you put the milk/creamer and sugar in your cup before hot water and coffee/brewed coffee, it tastes better!

Or is it just me?

hindi naman ako coffee addict but may nagustuhan ako sa mall of asia second floor near breadtalk, love their coffee must try pati cake

actually bawal sa akin ang kape eh, hindi ako masyadong nakakahinga pero masarap eh kaya inom pa din ako. hindi nga lang palagi.

sa sm supermarket po ba merong good day coffee?

Wow, didn't realize there was a coffee thread!

When I introduce myself and say I love coffee, some people say, sure, everybody loves coffee!  What they don't know is how serious I am about it.  I usually make my own; I buy whole beans and grind them myself to make the most out of their flavor.  And I love reading and talking about it!



My feedback and favorites per coffee shop:


Starbucks--the short cappuccino is the best coffee drink here.  It has the perfect ratio of 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, 1/3 froth.  I never order tall because there's only just 1 shot of espresso (same as the short one) and has too much milk.  Starbucks' cappuccino froth, is just too runny.  I also like their toffee nut latte because it reminds me of Christmas.  I just find their standard concoction too sweet so I just ask for less syrup.  I never buy brewed coffee here.  Most of the time it's not freshly brewed (they brew it a few times a day and stock it in a big coffee dispenser).  Quality just suffers that way.  In the few times that I've ordered brewed, it's either too watery or just stale.  However, I buy a lot of their whole beans and just prepare my own coffee.


Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf--double shot cappuccino.  Their cappuccini (single or double shot) are way better than Starbucks.  Very good froth; sticks on your teaspoon. 


Figaro--brewed kapeng barako gold.  They don't have barako gold anymore, so I just order cappuccino most of the time.  Theirs is better than Starbucks.  There's attention to detail, unlike Starbucks, where most of the time it's like getting coffee from a vending machine.


Illy--well, I've always loved Illy coffee (which I made myself) but the shop in MOA was just horrible and they didn't know how to make proper coffee.


Cafe Breton--I'm not very partial to French Roast so I mostly order cappuccino here because I find their black too bitter (I think their beans are over roasted).


I think this post would make for a blog entry already.  I'll just continue next time.

Figaro--brewed kapeng barako gold.  They don't have barako gold anymore, so I just order cappuccino most of the time.  Theirs is better than Starbucks.  There's attention to detail, unlike Starbucks, where most of the time it's like getting coffee from a vending machine.

vietnam coffee tastes good too

Minsan nagdala yung colleague ko from Vietnam ng 3-in-1 coffee during our conference and masarap sya. According to him yun daw lagi bilin sa kanya na pasalubong. Forgot lang yung brand.

Agree! Sarap ng Kopiko with brown sugar. I told our staff to hoard na a lot kasi baka pag naging popular na sya maubusan and worse magbago yung lasa. Just like what happened to San Mig coffee, puro tamis na lang wala ng lasang kape.
