Well my mom is like your mom din naman when it comes to the treatment.

Ako lang if I was in your place, hindi naman money ang pinaguusapan eh its the fact you have you have your own and most probably dont need the inheritance its just some sort of assurance or taking what is really yours since lahat naman tayo anak ng Diyos at ikaw ng tatay mo.

So if I were you I will show my mom :)

(My dad has a heart disease)

Dad:  Hindi yun anak eh, hindi yung pera, gusto kong may mamana ako sa father ko, kasi anak nila ako eh. Karapatan ko yun. Kahit meron tayo, iba yun eh.

And i guess, my dad is right. Same with you sis, its your right to have the share kasi anak ka nila. Ipaglaban mo sis, kaya mo yan.

If i were u, i wont go after it.

From what i gather from all of your post in this forum, id say u have enough to last maybe 2 lifetimes or more and live comfortably. And you have a very supportive and loving hubby.

And i think, whatever amount of money, is not worth it, to fight over with my family. Specially my mom. Hayaan na, matanda na rin naman, let her live her life the way she wants it.

I know na its not the money ur going ga** about. Siguro yung thought na, those people who will be getting it is not worthy of it kasi hindi nila pinaghirapan, and alam mong hindi madadala sa mabuti. Yun ang masakit don. Hmmm, but just be thankful na rin na sa family/kamaganak mo pa rin mapupunta yun. Malay mo naman, after getting it, mga after how many years na sila bago humingi ulit ng tulong sayo. ;D

Godbless sis.

Hi sis, are you the eldest? Ilan kayong magkakapatid?  ;)

I don't get your mom. Napaka-unfair.  :( It's  not just about the money nor as it is being your right. Parang, it's an insult to your whole person.

I get that you want to do the right thing for you and your sisters. Kasi nga, right niyo yon. Pero like you said, if you do fight it through the courts, maraming sisters mo na magiging affected kasi they got some property na. And your brothers and their wives will surely question it. I think, you have to ask all your sisters kung okay ba sila sa magiging hassle if you do decide to pursue it.

Cake and adobo?  ;D I think, your mom though that you dont need the money anymore kaya ganyan lang palagi ang bigay niya sa iyo. But no one would actually blame you if you decide to pursue this kasi right mo naman.

I read a post of yours na parang your whole family have lunch or dinner every Sunday? Why not attempt to talk to your brothers? Like ask them, why wala silang ginagawa to convince your mom to give you and your sisters your rightful share? Ask them what they thought if you will fight your share? Ask them din that what they are doing is hurting you and you probably will not help them in the future if they won't be fair.  ;D

If you pursue it sis, im sure mananalo ka. ;D

I guess it would be wise to reflect on your intent in pursuing the inheritance, if you will indeed.

Is it because

(1) you feel na may karapatan kayo (you and your sisters) sa wealth ng parents nyo? If so, what rights are we talking about? Moral rights? Legal rights? Civil rights?

(2) you want "show" your mom that she is wrong and has been unfair to you and your sisters? If so, do you think pursuing legal action will make her realize this and that she may suddenly feel remorse? (I doubt it)

(3) you just want to have the money? I don't see anything wrong with this. Everyone likes money lalo na if you feel you have a right to it. I think most people, when inheritance ang pinapag-usapan, often fall into the "it's-not-about-the-money" cliche. In some instances, I think this is bullcrap. It could be all about the money and if it is, so what?

Just my 2centavos. :)

gaya nga ng mga sinabi ng ibang sisses natin dito, its not about the money but dahil may karapatan ka dun kasi anak ka.

Sa akin naman, go for it. But i'm sure based on your kwento na pag natapos na yung gulo eh magkakasundo sundo din kayo.  You all have enough love for each other na kahit ganun yung situation nyo sa family nyo eh love nyo ang isa't isa.

I also said to go for it kasi ang tingin ko this mana will somehow make you feel na kapamilya ka talaga.  Eversince kasi what they made you feel is ikaw lang yung taga ayos ng kung ano mang gulo, gusot at problem nila.  Sa totoo it's not what you'll get but the feeling na ka share ka din kasi kapamilya ka ang makakapagpasaya sa yo. I'm sure din na in time that someone from your family needs help from you eh you won't have any second thoughts of giving them everything na nakuha mo & more.

Hi sis aquacharly, I always read your post and I follow some of your advises na applicable sa problem ko.A lot of times nakakatulong naman . So thank you very much.

Going back to  the topic, well, if I am in your shoes , I will fight for my legal rights. Obviously, you belong to a Chinese family with that age old tradition na lalaki lang may karapatan .  Your mom probably is very insecure kaya gusto nya kanya lahat . I can't believe nga na ganoon pag iisip niya thinking na babae rin naman siya.

Karapatan mo na makinabang sa pera ng family nyo dahil you are one of the family. Pero, you are talking of millions and lots of properties, so everyone would have enough. So go for it, anyway alam naman nila eversince palaban ka e. I am sure your siblings have made the research na rin sa legal aspect and knew what will really happen kung lalaban ka legally.  If you can talk about this with your siblings first na lapit sa mother mp para he/she could explain it to your mom at ma convince siya na yun talaga ang legal , baka pumayag na rin siya, kesa mapunta lang sa lawyers and tapos matatalo lang siya.

I don't really know much about inheritance/legal issues and most of the sisses here already posted the pros and cons of fighting for it or not but for statistical purposes, I'd say go for it. It's only fair to get what's rightfully yours. The fact that you are losing sleep over this and going to all these troubles (posting, talking to lawyers, knowing technicalities, etc.) means that it's important to you. It's been bugging you since forever, and now that you have the chance, go grab it. If you don't go for it now (while you can and the issue is hot), you might regret it for the rest of your life. lol I'm not scaring you, it's just that the feeling and the thought that you could have done something but you didn't simply because ayaw mo na ng gulo or it's not worth it or bahala na sila sa buhay nila could haunt you for the rest of your life (sorry inulit ko na naman, for emphasis lang. :P). Or we could be positive and say na you won't let it get to you, it's just material things after all but I think you've had enough Hopia already. You deserve to have it. It's your right to have it.

I think based on your story, your prediction na pwedeng pulutin sa kangkungan yung mom mo is highly plausible. Of course there is satisfaction in saying "I told you so" but you'll feel so much better if you had prevented it. And besides cycle nga talaga yan, you don't want to set an example to your kids na when times are tough or nagkakagulo na, since you can live without it you'll just bail and stop fighting for your rights. It's time to end the cycle or at least be the one to start ending the cycle (I hope I made sense there  :D). Tsaka it's time na to let your brothers realize/feel na they can't have it all. And that they actually have to work or do something to make sure that they still get to enjoy their lavish lifestyles for generations to come. Life is no fairy tale, your parents already taught you (and your sisters) that so it's time to share the knowledge.  ;) And the irony of this is that by teaching them to stand up for themselves (stop being dependent), you're actually standing up for yourself. It will make you feel good...so do it.  :)

I've always been an advocate of being treated fairly (kaya lagi akong napapagalitan  ;D), not equally 'coz well IMO there's no such thing, we are unique individuals after all.  :P And I think it's only fair that you get your share.  ;)

Sis, your situation can inspire a regal films movie.  Mano Po 5 or maybe its Mana Po the movie.  I can already imagine the cast of characters.  I hope you don't mind my saying this but even as you vent your frustrations, your posts are hilariously entertaining.

I think you should get your share of the inheritance.  You've already said it.  It's your right as a legitimate child.  You shouldn't be valued any less than your brothers because you're a female.  That tradition of leaving everything to the male offsprings doesn't hold any wisdom especially at this day and age and in our environment and especially in your family where you say your male siblings aren't pulling their own weight.  That's just unfair and irrational.  It also perpetuates the unequal treatment of women.  It also appears to me like your mom just wants control.  To her mind, because she has the money, everybody "loves" her, everybody kowtows to her.

From your posts, I gather that your parents have accumulated a sizeable fortune.  Chinese traditions aside, I really don't see why your mother should feel so disturbed about sharing your father's estate with all his children.  With all that wealth, there should be enough to distribute among the whole lot of you, enough naman siguro to maintain the lifestyle all members of the family are accustomed to.  Your mom retains her half of the conjugal property and still gets a share of your father's estate.  Since she controls the bulk of the wealth, your brothers and sisters still have to be nice to her.  She can still lord it over them.

I understand that you feel torn about making this decision but seriously, you have no reason to feel guilty about claiming what is rightfully yours.  Everyone knows that you should get a share, even your mom and your brothers.  Heck, even the tambays at the street corner know that.  That's why your mom wants you to repudiate your inheritance, your claim to a share of your dad's properties.  No one in your family can say you're greedy.  You can certainly throw that back at their faces.  From your story, you and your sisters have been deprived what your brothers and their children have long been enjoying from your parents.

I suppose you were raised knowing that you're not supposed to get anything from your parents.  They may have hammered that into your head.  From a non-chinese point of view, that is so harsh... masaklap.  It's not about the money.  It's like you don't matter and was disowned.  In any other family that is expected to breed resentment and discord amongst the members.  But you've done well on your own and still support your family without any expectations.  I say you have been a good child and a good sibling.

It would be better, even necessary, if you pursue your inheritance.  It seems that your sisters are relying on you so that they could get their share.  Maybe you don't need the money but perhaps your siblings have some use for it.  If some of your siblings received properties as gifts from your parents, that shouldn't be a problem if you ask for a partition of your dad's estate.  After a collation of your dad's properties, what they received prior to your dad's death can be considered part of their inheritance from him already.  From your story, your mother is also irresponsible when it comes to managing the businesses and properties.  It is best that you find out the extent of your parents wealth not only for the purpose of determining the shares of all heirs but so that you can protect the family's assets.  It is possible that relatives and third persons are already ruining your family's businesses, stealing money or disposing the properties.  This is an excellent time and opportunity to inquire into these things.  I believe that if your brothers and their families are not good custodians of your family's wealth, they may end up dissipating whatever your parents will leave them.  Isn't there a chinese saying which says that the first generation will make the fortune, the second generation will spend it and the third generation will see it go?  I hope your brothers or their children develop some kind of financial ethics.  Like allredndizzy said, maybe they should learn how to earn their own money.  Perhaps a gross reduction of what they expected to receive in inheritance might drive some sense into them.

You don't want the headache which comes dealing with your mom and brothers?  Well, it seems that you're always the person to run to when a problem crops up.  Despite your rebellious streak and independent nature, you still end up participating in your family's financial affairs even if you refuse to partake of the profits.  I don't think you can escape your family.  You might as well deal with difficulties of getting your inheritance head on.  Are you worried your mom would really take this against you and disinherit you in the future?  That's not allowed by law except under a few exceptional circumstances.  You best ask your lawyer about that too.

hi sis aquacharly... today ko lang nabasa to thread mo about the inheritance... (im glad you've decided to share this para ma-discuss din a bit because wala pa ata mashado topic about this, and i always learn a lot from you) ...

if i may ask sis, how many siblings kayo lahat? like how many brothers? and sisters? you are right, ngayon lang ako naka-encounter ng mom like yours, kakaiba sha promise... kasi my mom, sobra malambot sa min ni sister, dalawa lang kasi kami... so yung mga hatian namin lahat, very clear, all in half ganun kadali... so ngayon na she and papa are still alive, my sister and i know na the assets and properties we will be getting... in your case, like you've mentioned na you and hubby are financially blessed, i think we all agree that that's not the case and issue here (like kung financially okay naman kayo, bakit makigulo pa sa mana)... nakikita ko what you are fighting for... kasi pano nga naman if you girls let it pass na ganyan sa family, will it mean na ganun na talaga the belief and way of getting the inheritance, na pag halimbawa ako girl sa family... bata pa lang ako, ohno, kayod ako dapat talaga kasi wala ako inheritance (im not saying na pag may inheritance, you don't work for yourself na kasi, nauubos yan, nabebenta... ang akin lang, like you said, i also want a share of money and properties that i did not work for... pag libre masaya ;-P) ...

so tama lang your stand na ngayon pa lang ayusin na... yun nga, kung aayusin, everything dapat talaga... siguro the best thing here, if hindi pa din madala sa mabuting usapan (mukhang mejo hindi ano kasi nagkasigawan na kayo ni mother) is clear everything with your lawyers and mas mabuti din if you share it with your husband, make him understand where you're coming from and why you're doing this... kasi if dadating ang time na maipit ka sa issue na yan, na your sisters will side with your mother (and everyone will see you as contravida, therefore, everyone will have mana except you), at least your husband is by your side... basta naman your other half believes in you, kaya mo yan i-face... maganda din sana if united kayo in this ng sisters kasi kayo lahat naman makikinabang but if they are not that courageous in making a stand for themselves, sis aquacharly, don't let anyone make you feel na hindi mo pwede kunin what is rightfully and legally yours... you know in your heart you are entitled to that. wala ka naman ginawa hindi maganda sa family for them na ipagkait sa yo yun especially your mother... so magalit man sila sayo, deep down, you know naiintindihan nila bakit mo pinaglalaban yan di ba... hmmm... i hope i helped a bit, but if i think of something else, i'll share it with you... lots of luck and god bless  :D

grabeh noh, pagdating talaga sa pera/mana, you can call your kadugo names. not to offend you sis aquacharly pero napansin ko rin yan sa family ng dad ko. when my grandpa died, grabeh, lumabas na yung word na swapang, selfish, mukhang pera, etc.. and they call these names to their siblings. syempre ako nagulat coming from conservative family of my mom na you should not bad mouth your siblings kasi kahit papano, kadugo mo yan. oh welts, i think that's the way it is. anyway, to cut my long story short, my dad  gave away his mana to his sis kasi si dad lang ang ayaw ng gulo. kahit medyo break-even lang kami sa buhay, at least no angst to each other. like ngayon (my god, lolo passed away a decade ago), pinagdidiskitahan pa yung old house niya kesyo sino ba daw dapat tumira dun and other sibs nag aaway kasi it's either to renovate the house, the other says make it an apartment, the other one says may it commercial space, and it goes on kahit may mga apo na sila. susmiyo!

anyway, kung ano man sasabihin ng will, yan talaga masusunod. however, you said na invalid yung will, then go for it. pero i know you know better the risk that you're in to. syempre, pamilya mo kalaban mo pero if you really know and feel na may laban ka sa kasong 'to, then go. not to mention, emotionally draining ito, it will take a lot of your time and effort and money... syempre, i know how you feel. ako mukhang pera din ako so makikipagpatayan din ako sa mana pero if i am stable naman and living a comfortable life with my own hands, i'll let it go na lang.

But at the same time..............
Mahabang process ito.... mahirap, in the end baka kayong magkakapatid ang magkaaway away in terms of money, may iba pa nga family as in nagpapatayan just to get that inheritance.

I know you're fighting naman for your rights. But is it worth it?

Like you said, hard earned money brings much happiness... You and your husband did'nt get any help from your FCIF when you're in need... but you remain strong and now very much happy with your husband and kids.

So think it over,
Pray for his divine guidance,
you can never go wrong when you ask for his help.

God bless you and your family.

PRETTYSUMMER, thank you!

Yes, I always pray for Divine Guidance.
My marriage is proof that He will always take care of you if you leave it all up to Him -- no deals, no conditions.  Just leave it all up to Him.

Alam nyo na ako siguro by now.  Dinadaan ko sa humor kadalasan.

I told my sister last night (arrived from Macau -- hay sarap ng buhay!  ang iniisip ko lang doon na problem eh which buffet papatulan ko.  LOL)  --

iniisip ko din what it will take out of me... and what I will gain from it all... financially and otherwise.

Mag isa ba ako or 1 of you sasama sa pag-upo ko sa banca?
Kung hindi kita kasama sa banca, translation ko:  you see me as a kaaway.  And let us not all take it personally, isipin legal legal lang ito lahat.

Sabi ko -- if gets ko banca, choose ko ilog, decide ako to sit in the banca alone or with 1 of you ... whichever.. eto tandaan nyo -- hindi ako bababa sa banca pagkatapos nang 1 metro na takbo.

May payong ako, may baon ako.
May anak ako saying bye-bye from the pier I am departing from.

LOL, crazy me talaga)
-- kung, even if you pray it happens to me --

eh sigurado there will be another banca with 1 of my kids inside (kasi hindi ko ma say my husband will get into a banca for me... for all you know, LOL --  he will look for another banca with somebody else to ride in . LOL  hindi na bale kung under the water na ako, kelangan lang happy ako with a yummy merman... Sasabihin ni LEELA kalokers din ako.  LOL)

So there,  pag sampa ng case ang ilalagay ko eh Aquacharly and Heirs.  So hwag kayong umasa na kasi I always say ang masamang damo eh matagal mamatay ... iniisip nyo ang iba sa inyo eh mas masama.... hehe

So napahiwatig ko na .. IF I go after it... IF this is not resolved, no middle ground is arrived at... nakikita ko (as usual, magaling daw ako sa ganyan sabi nang lahat even my husband) --  nakikita ko ang Winning :ine.

Mga Sis, sa lahat ng papasukan,  hanapin nyo ang Winning Line...  stay true to it.

Pero hindi naman kasi technically Winning Line as in panalo ang pinaguusapan lagi.  Kung minsan, ang tawag sa Winning Line is --  Exit Line,  Tabla Line or Minimize Damage Line....

Sabi ko hindi ako I am not threatening any one now. Malay nyo bukas eh pag gising ko I will say to heck with you all....  keep it all.

Ang gusto ko lang sabihin, as what the others here have posted... pag pumasok sa gulo kelangan naisip mo lahat ng cost to you -- financial, emotional, etc...   the bottom line is... nakikita mo ba ang sarili mo na masisikmura mo ang mukha mo in the mirror, and masisimura mo din lahat nang puedeng itapon sa yo?

Very important too:  Finish what you start.  Or, do not bother.  Kaya AquaCharly and Heirs.

And when you start something like this, something that challenges a basic component of family dynamics --  be prepared for a long-drawn fight.  IF we go into this (coz it takes not just me to get us to this point I said .. you should all realize that that I cannot just make this mess happen all by myself) ---  given that Justice grinds exceedingly slow in the Phils... expect our kids to inherit this problem even when we are all either playing tong-its with some Tongressmen in hell or playing the harp on the clouds. That will be the family legacy.  Think it over sabi ko, it is not just me creating this legacy.

So there, FREESWAN & SILVERONFIRE ... hindi ko talaga basta magawa na say:  Dyan na kayo!  I do not need you all!   Thank you for your insightful advice.

God bless!

Eto mga Sis ha, that Macau break was good.  Problema nga lang eh which buffet papatulan.

(Breakfast buffet best at the Wynn's Esplanada .. tapos smoke kayo sa labas by the pool.  :D  At ang mga Pinoy doon... will spoil you to death. )
Pag umulan,  Wynn's gives free payong to diners...

(Bel Can Cao at The 4 Seasons...  buffet lunch or dinner, great.  But no Pinoys, pero okay pa rin service.)

Going back...  eto 1 brother died weeks before my Dad.  The wife left him (may 1 pang brother ganito din ang kwento) -- but the marriage was never annulled.  Tapos may ka live-in sya.. and 4 kids.

When my brother died .. ewan ko ba. he did not provide for the kabit in his will.

Eh he was in the hospital for almost 2 months, knowing he was dying, he had his lawyer over all the time,  pinaguusapan his will vs his kids.  Pero ang kabit, zero nya.  Hopia!

Nang ma pronounce dead na my brother... by the doctors ... nakaratay sa hospital bed... a sister told me... Partner collapsed.  Later on I asked -- bakit nag collapse?

Excuse the crudeness, ang nag use nang word phrase na yon eh my uncle the lawyer.

My gosh, everybody in the family (family comite de festejos kasi ... during the wake ng brother ito ha -- isipin mo kalokers kami!) ... was laughing at my inanity!  Matalas daw ako with so many things pero may katang@han with some things daw..  Pano daw ako nakapasa sa Filipino?  Sabi ko mamatay muna madre bago ma say yang word na yan in school.
(As far as the madres are concerned, nobody has bul2... kahit aminin nila many provide bullsh1t.  I love the madres at Assumption, regardless.   :) )

Going back, nainis ako..  Bakit nya ginawang ZERO si Partner?  So unfair! She kept house for him, gave him kids... inalagaan sa hospital (doon na rin nag check in until he checked out ha) -- bakit zero?!  I told my mom... hindi ako titigil until you give her a couple of millions from his accounts, enough for her to live off.  At ang bahay nila... she should stay there kahit na nasa Will  pinamana sa kids nila... she should legally have the right to stay there until she dies, as long as she wants to live there.
Ang cars nya, hwag nyo babawiin!

Bakit love ko daw is Kabit ask ni Mother?  Sabi ko hindi ko love yan,  may default dislike na ako basta uhmmm Partner (sabi ni Mother Kabit yan kasi may asawa si Brother)   ... but to me kasi,  fair is fair.

So ayon, si Partner,  got a couple of millions.

Or good old cash?
Or wallet na LV Graffiti like what PRISMA bought 2 months ago?  (LOL, na remember ko pa yon ha. Siguro nainggit ako kay PRISMA at that time.  LOL)

Eh sila nga may satellite phones di ba?  Baka gusto ko din noon.

Going back,  naka Cheshire Cat smile si Partner -- because of me, maliwanag sa lahat.
Pag andyan sya with my Mom in 1 place,  ang sutil kong sister na 1 (hindi iyong nahulog sa bus, hindi si Fidel Ramos na sister, iba naman) -- kinakanta eh:  "Ako ang nagwagi....."   LOL,  we all laugh!  Pero gawin ito after not before  the family lunch at baka nga ma Dora-rat (not Dora cutesy doll) kami.

Pero eto na... 1 son of that dead brother (nephew namin)  sabi ba naman...
"Noon sinasabi ko -- mayaman ang family ko."
(Wow ha, really?! some sisters pinulot ang kilay off the floor; ako tumaas without botox)

Eto pa .. lumalabas na ngayon recognized and unrecognized illegits. (Wala sila kiddie ni Ako-Legal-Wife!   Pero si Ako-Legal-Wife!  may son with her Lover in Europe.  Ka guapo -- both the lover and the son.  hehe)
Magkano ba sila?!"

Yang movie line na "Magkano ka ba" and its variations ... hindi part of our language ha.
Never!

Sabi ng husband ko ... look what they turn you into. "Bastardo".
Ngek!  Lalong nasuya si hubby, tinalikuran ako.

So, puede nga kaming nobela or movie.  Sana you are all amused,  that is the least I can give in exchange for your time, patience and advice.
You have big hearts, for bearing with me on this.

Hindi puedeng MANO PO, may copyright yan.
Kami siguro "MANOMANO KALOKERS Part 1" (credits to LEELA for the "kalokers" word, thank you! cute word).
(Hindi naman puedeng  "Bul-Bulan Tayo - Part 1"  ... ay super bastos!  pasensya na ha,  I am just trying to amuse myself too. Sorry to you all,for offending your sensibilities.)

So now, what?!
Sad but true, sabi nang lola ko ... ang masakit sa karma, at times  ... it is the son that bears the sins of the father....

4 ang acknowledged/living with Brother at time of death.  As of yesterday, sabi ni Sister  (yung once upon a time nahulog sa bus... hahaha we re-enact now and then what she may have looked like falling off at kung maganda ba ang panty nya noon -- she lost a shoe ha.. she gets pikon at us)  -- accdg to this Sister,  3 na ang nangangalampag for their share.  4 +3  + ilan pa?  Maka invest na nga sa DNA business.   +++  pagdumating si Ako-Legal-Wife!

Isipin nyo mga Sis... by accident of birth (hindi ko sinasabi accidente ang birth nila ha... just that common phrase as used normally) ... by accident of birth.. there are 4 with claims, plus 3 seeking acknolwedgment of their claims/share ... ako accident of birth din.

Teka..... teka  ... teka..... my accident of birth has a stronger claim than any of your accident of birth.  Ang sa akin nga eh nasa batas... hindi naman nakalagay sa batas na divide among the grandchildren... at kahit na invalid ang will ng father ko .. hindi naka mention any 1 name of any grandchild.

So there...
Masakit pa rin ang ulo ko.
Iniisip ko lahat nang sinasabi nyo, believe me.

I hope you are all somehow amused.

Thank you all.
God bless.

hi sis aquacharly, yes am very much amused with your kuwento .... am a fan ... :)  Kasi naman ha, with the problem you are facing, nakakapagpatawa ka pa rin :)  And so, having said that, i think you have the guts to go all the way and claim what is rightfully yours, besides, malay mo di ba, sa sobrang bilib rin ni mama mo sa yong abilidad, mapapayag mo rin sya na ibigay ang dapat sa inyo....  GOD bless :)

:D
i really admire your sense of humor aquacharly...
hmmm, i hope you think this over thoroughly and whatever you decide, will work for the best...
in your situation kasi, from what i can see, kahit anong anggulo basta ang issue is about this inheritance na, may masasaktan at maooffend... walang peaceful way talaga...

...let's say, you push through with the case, mahuhurt at magagalit at maooffend your mother, and the rest of the boys of the family (as imposed by your family's "law") because for them, ginugulo mo the calmness of the weather... that the entire clan has observed this rule for most likely the longest time and abided by it and then all of a sudden, there will be a court battle na what's theirs isn't solely theirs but for the court to decide how much of it is theirs lang....

if you do not push through with the case, like, hayaan na lang at dagdag stress, sakit ng ulo at kung ano-ano pang negativities lang ang dadalhin nyan sa yo, the entire boys of the family and most especially your mother will be very happy... but will they ever learn? especially the sons na may bulto (hmmm, honestly, dito ko lang din natutunan this word)? and will you be really at peace knowing you could have done something but decided not to because of how much of a headache it would have been?

i really cannot say what's best.. it's soooo difficult to weigh talaga aquacharly...
based on your posts here, you usually make sound judgments naman so i know somehow, you will not disappoint yourself...

have a happy afternoon :D
