50's - 60's songs

every sunday old songs ang tugtog sa bahay namin, nagsa-soundtrip daddy ko, hehe. mula bata pa kami ganon na kaya pati yung dalawang kapatid kong lalaki alam kanta from 50s to 60s

Just recently discovered Sam Cooke. Soulful voice. Too bad he was gone way too young. Here's a sample :

please recommend a radio program (radio station & air time) where we i can listen to old songs, preferably FM, mostly walang AM sa cellphones!

gusto ko rin yung old sunday songs, my lolo still listen to those stations.
kaya lang minsan nakakalungkot... these songs make me sad.

like one time pinatugtog yung kanta ni steve lawrence then the announcer said he was playing it kasi steve's wife eydie gorme just past away, kaya sa last line ng song he sings it like this:
"Eydie, you're the best thing that ever happened to me."

^ That got me thinking. Parang wala nang FM stations that play the mellow oldies ng '50s or '60s. I think RJ FM (100.3) still has the same format pero they play the fast kind of oldies like the Beatles.

The stations that play the mellow oldies mukhang nasa AM na lang: DWWW (774) especially on weekends; DZMM (630) 1-3 pm daily with DJ Richard, 11 pm till 4 a.m. i think with Dr. Love and DJ Richard, Sunday afternoons with Boots Anson Roa; DZBB (591) with Eddie Ilarde on weekend afternoons... that's what the seniors at our place usually listen to.

Noong bata pa ako, every sunday naririnig ko yung song na Don't Cry Joni, tuwang tuwa ako sa song na yan, ang cute kasi, parang pang-bata lang... Tapos sad song pala..

Apart from the rock and roll, those decades have great Motown music.  Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Al Green.

Love this kind of music, Elvis, The Beach Boys, Richie Valens, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole...  Reminds me of Sunday afternoons when time seemed to stand still.

Malaki talaga ang kaibahan ng mga sinaunang kanta.
Mas gusto ko pang pakinggan ang kanta noon kaysa ngayon. Maganda ang boses, tono at maayos ang pagkakabigkas(?).
I even listen to early 1900's songs.
Pag nakikinig ako ng mga sinaunang kanta, parang bumabalik ako sa panahon nila(daydreaming).
