Charlaine Harris' The Southern Vampire Mysteries (Sookie Stackhouse Series)

I created a post before about Book 1: Dead Until Dark and I didn't like it mostly because I wanted Sookie to end up with Eric instead of Bill and I was like what kind of book is a book whose male protagonist is so boring that a secondary character is more interesting than him? because I thought Charlaine meant Sookie to end up with Bill. I didn't like that Eric and Sookie has some great chemistry and that they will never be together.
But as I read the other books in the series the story progressed in a way that Eric started having more role into Sookie's life than Bill does and I liked it better then. So far, I just finished Dead to the World and currently starting on Dead as a Doonail. the past 3 books gave me hope that maybe Eric and Sookie will end up together. What do you guys think? Who do you like better? Eric or Bill?
No offense to Bill lovers but I really think Eric is perfect for Sookie. Eric = evil & cute & funny Sookie = sweet & kind & good. The chemistry between them just jumps off the page.

My favorite quote from Book2: Living Dead in Dallas:

"Eric, my big bullsh**ter" ~ Sookie

Nakakatuwa lang na laging kinukulit ni Eric si Sookie tapos pinipilit niyang maging evil but at the same time bilib na bilib din sa kindness/goodness ni Sookie. And the way he tricks her para maka-tsansing at mapalapit ng sapilitan sa kanya si Sookie... is just funny! I think he does it because he knows he has no chance with her dahil nga ayaw ni Sookie ng mga salbahe. I heard somewhere that they ended up married together in the last book because Eric tricked Sookie into marrying him without her knowledge. lmao. how cute is that?

Glad that there was a separate thread for Sookie.  I've just finished the last book, Dead and Gone and yeah, there was something that Eric did which technically made Sookie his. I'll let you find out for yourself. 

I actually didn't expect to like this series but it was addicting!  Since you've finished Dead to the Word, you've known that Eric stayed with Sookie while he lost his memory and they did what they did.

My favorite book in the series is All Together Dead. As for who I like for Sookie best, I'm still leaning towards Bill. It's true that his first intentions for Sookie are not good but he's always there for her. Especially in the latest book. Can't wait for the next book!

kasi after Bill's involvement with Lorena, I thought it there would no longer be a Bill-Sookie. Did they get back together in the past books?

You read right. It was Bill. There had been another war (I won't say who it was with para may thrill), but Bill risked his life for Sookie (again!) Eric was also there but he got there too late and it was Bill who saved Sookie!

me, too. Pro-Eric ako talaga since Book 1 that's why it took me awhile to get to Book 2 dahil ayoko talaga ang Sookie-Bill tandem (Not that I hate Bill, I just don't want him to be with Sookie). I dunno but I felt na may chemistry kasi between Sookie and Eric. And when I found out sa wikipedia na magkakaroon ng relationship si Eric & Sookie saka ko lang tinuloy ang pagbasa sa Book 2. Ang ganda ng tandem nila. I feel like Sookie is the angel tapos si Eric ang devil. lol Ang cute nga nilang dalawa. Saka nakakatuwa kasi parang laging nashoshock si Eric kapag nalalaman niya na ndi vindictive or bad person si Sookie. I think that's what pulls him in but of course hindi lang niya maamin dahil he's too busy being..tycoon, sheriff, leader, etc, Katulad dun sa Club Dead, Eric was super sweet and super bait. I'm hoping that, if Eric lets his guard down we'll see that side of him again. Cause that's what Sookie is attracted to. I really think Eric cares for Sookie since Book 1. Ever since Long Shadow. Naasar nga ako nung sa True Blood si napunta 'yung plot arc na 'yun kay Bill. Paano kaya nila gagawin ang Club Dead sa True Blood?

i so love the 4th book (dead to the world), if i were sookie ayoko na mabalik ang memory ni Eric, i will keep him for the rest of my life!! ,

i really should start na with book 2! i watched true blood before i read dead until dark.

i also like eric. nung 1st episode niya pa lang sa true blood, like ko na siya. but i don't really like him for sookie. i just like his character more than bill's.

and because of the feedback that the book-eric is so much better than the tv-eric, mas gusto ko na talaga umpisahan yung book 2!

i think pro-Bill yata kasi si Allan Ball. but I think he's going to give Eric more airtime this season. hopefully we see more of him nga kasi Alexander looks hot with short hair. hehe

@clueless - i didnt expect to like the book, i dont find the 1st book that nice kasi but the following books are much better, you will also like it (i think)

yeah, funny yung mga times na gustong alalaahin ni Eric yung times nya with Sookie although hindi nya alam. Eric in True Blood is HOT!
