^ i agree sis. marca leon na canola oil is the cheapest brand. Most of my clients would sometimes order canola oil. So I would look for canola oil na cheapest... :) Most of them who are healthy conscious would always prefer canola or corn oil. Pero meron pa din nagsasabing lauric oil like minola is also healthy esp if you are always frying eggs. But for me, canola oil or corn oil pa rin ako.

I use 2 kinds of olive oil. For grilling and for sauteing. I only use the California Ranch olive oil, cause it passed all 3 tests performed to prove that it's really extra virgin. The other brands, most likely peanut oil with a hint of olive flavoring. But whenever I crave for tuyo, I use my secret stash of pork oil. Lol. I bought a lb of pork fat and fried it till it's like chicaron. Saved the fat and hid it from my bf or else he'll scringe!

If it is for frying, I use cooking oil that has a high smoke point.  I usually use Sunflower Oil or Safflower.  Canola Oil is good too, but my son can detect the difference in taste.  He prefers Sunflower Oil.  Olive Oil has a low smoke point, madaling uminit and nag-iiba ang lasa.

extra virgin olive oil for salad, canola for sauteing and frying. mababa kasi smoke point ng olive oil, meaning madali sya masunog kaya nagiging carcinogenic sya. i don't reuse oil also :)

Coconut oil for cooking.

Coconut oil is the premier oil for cooking. It is much more stable than other vegetable oils under normal cooking temperatures and does not break down into free radicals as quickly as other vegetable oils. It is also naturally more resistant to rancidity and oxidation than other edible oils.
As with all oils, the ‘Extra Virgin Cold Pressed’ type is superior because of its processing at low heat thereby retaining all of the nutrients and protective health properties within the oil.

Olive Oil for pasta
Corn Oil for saute
Vegetable Oil for frying

I use Marca Leon Cooking Oil dahil mas mura nga talaga and 1 thing I noticed hindi siya bumubula ang sabi sa akin ng nagbebenta hinahaluan na kasi ng water ngayon ang cooking oil kaya bumubula. I don't reuse my oil tapon agad kaya yung 1Liter ko usually 2x na gamitan lang ubos na.

@sis mac0308 salamat. Akala ko binawal hehe. Sorry :)

@sis snowyice malalaman naman kung may halong tubig ang oil di ba kasi pag nilagay mo na sya sa mainit na kawali eh magtitilamsik yung mantika hanggang sa magevaporate na ang tubig. Pareho tayo i dont reuse oil kasi nagiging carcinogenic na. Pero ang 1 liter ko 1-2 months bago maubos. Minsan lang kami mag-ulam ng fried. Usually gisa gisa lang
