I only use 2 kinds of oil, olive oil for Western food and sunflower oil for Asian food.  These are both low in saturated fat.  And less likely to cause pimples. Coconut oil I believe is quite bad. :)

^ Totally agree with you!

Unrefined, organic, coconut oil from the Philippines. It can withstand very high temperatures and you can use it as an alternative to butter for frying, baking etc.

I buy it here in Toronto and it is super expensive. Anyone flying to Canada? Please bring me some! :-)

Why buy expensive and imported olive oil when you can get coconut oil for a cheaper price?

mas mahal ang sunflower oil compared to canola di ba?

i used to use canola oil before but switched to sunflower oil na. pricey but it is okay naman. high in good cholesterol and tolerates high smokepoint.

have you seen any store selling SAFFLOWER OIL? <------- one of the healthiest din...

olive oil for salads and saute

Thank you!

Extra virgin Coconut oil is abundant in the Philippines (cheaper) and I just recently have mixed/substituted it for olive oil and butter.

I am going to fill my luggage with coconut oil if I ever visit.

confusing talaga ang reviews regarding coconut oil kasi ang tinitignan lang nila will be the cholestrol content of coconut oil. true na mataas ang coconut content ng coconut oil pero isa ito sa may pinakamataas na heat tolerance.

olive oil has one of the lowest heat tolerance. ibig sabihin kapag nagamit ang olive oil sa high heat (let say sa pagprito or deep fry), mag bi-break down na ang molecules at magiging iba na ang effect nang molecule na yun when digested.

canola and vegetable oil are good for everyday cooking. zero cholesterol so healthy sa heart.

but i believe that olive oil is the best and healthiest! yun nga lang meron siyang distinct smell and taste if you are using the pure olive oil. sa experience ko, it can alter the taste of food lalo na yung lutong pinoy. so to solve the problem, ang binibili ko "extra light tasting" olive oil. ok sya, parang regular cooking oil.
