1st timer here. =) Also considering in buying an IP camera, so that pag-iniwan ko si baby sa house ma-monitor ko padin. I saw one sa internet wireless N siya, with pan tilt, 2 way audio, movement recognition na pwede daw i-set up in such a way na pag may movement sesend niya thru e-mail yung photo, kasi may SD card slot din siya na kayang mag record. worth 15K per camera. what you think guys?

Recently installed 4 bullet type camera and dvr paid around P30k. Mapansin ko mejo ilag at conscious yung mga helper sa bahay hehe.

basically, i think I need 4 cams CCTV which has recording capacity and can be viewed remotely thru the internet or mobile phone. Yung mga ganito ba electricity dependent? Pano pag nagbrownout? Patay na din si cam?

^Jai, ang dlink na camera namin meron recording capability and can be viewed sa office and sa mobile phone ko (iphone).. yes, dependent sa electricity.. pag brownout, wala na.. unless meron kang UPS..

I am seriously thinking of getting these installed. I asked my friend who is in the business and he will give me a quote  for 4 cameras (our choice how many would be indoor or outdoor) and 1 standalone DVR.  Exclusive of the cables that will be needed for installation.  Labor for installation is free.  They will be coming on Monday to do an ocular of the house.

There are PC based DVRs and the package is cheaper but you will need a PC for it (and I think the PC should always be turned on).  The DVRs are also available as 4 channels, 8 channels, and 16 channels so I think the packages would usually have a limit of 4 cams for the 4 channel DVR, 8 for the 8 channel, or 16 cams for the 16 channel DVR.

Personally, I prefer getting a professional company than going the DIY route. For one thing, I can always go after them for any warranty issues and other problems. That would also ensure that the installation and connection to our router is clean and will not affect its performance.

I asked my friend if he offers packages and he said they don't because packages are usually class C China products.  He promises to work within my budget, though.

^his quote is P26,500 for 4 cameras (Korea) and a 4-channel standalone DVR, exclusive of labor and materials. We have a choice of what type of cameras we will need (indoor or outdoor).  They will program our router so we can view them while outside the house. They also gave suggestions on the best areas to put the cameras.

We opted to get the 8-channel DVR for future expansion (1-4 more cameras) for an additional P7k. 

This is the official price quote but he promised to give a discount.  I asked him if he is willing to give a discount for GT sisses who might be interested in getting their services and he said yes

Our cctv cams have been installed and because of it, I was able to view my maid sleeping at the foot of our stairs.  I don't know why. Kakainis lang because when I called  the house (all the while viewing the scene), yung isang maid who was far from the phone answered. Sya na about 6 steps away from the phone lang did not get up to answer the phone.  Same din whe. My kids and husband arrived from school. She was nearer the door than the other maids but she did not even bother opening the door.

^ yup. We got from our friend. I don't remember the total amount because it was my husband na who talked with him. Parang all in all, nasa P30k because we got the 8 channel DVR instead of the 4 channel para puwede pa kami magdagdag ng cameras (up to 8 total) if we want to. We have 5 installed now.

The cameras can be viewed through internet but only through Windows Internet explorer. If you're using a Mac, make sure the dvr you will be getting has a program for Mac (more expensive dvr).  The IP address should be static but most (if not all) residential DSL plans are given a dynamic address.  We worked around this (before pa) by getting a (free) account at dyndns.

Dear, nasa previous posts ni flex yung site nila. Naginquire na din ako sa qube unfortunately, they dont do installation.. E panu naman kaya ako magiinstall nun. 20k lang ang quote 4 cameras, 1TB DVR, LED monitor, centralized power supply, etc.

Flex, yung cam mo ba may built in mic? Bakit gumaganun hh mo? D ba nila alam na may cctv?

^ it doesn't have mic and audio. The household helpers know there's a camera. Ewan ko lang kung bakit dun pa nya naisipan humiga
