Hi, there! Need suggestions please.  Our new condo has a window underneath the hole where we will install our aircon.  How can I install a curtain or shade on this "half-a-window"? TIA.

^sis not sure with curtain but with roman shades baka pwede

since may aircon yung taas, baka meron naman yun aircon casing made of steel or maybe magpalagay ka ng kahit kahoy na screwed sa base ng aircon casing base.

tapos yung mechanism ng roman shades, lagariin mo sa mismong size or width ng aircon mo or space ng window na wala pang shades

then ipagawa mo ng roman shade with the same fabric (color, texture) para bagay sa roman shades ng window mo

mechanism is a bit pricey. the cheapest i found is in Centro in divisoria for 1170 per piece. china made

^^ Most curtains sold at SM Homeworld are cheaper than the ones sold at Our Home. As one sis posted here she saw the very same curtain at Homeworld for half the price.

Personally I saw curtains as low as P600.00 on Buy 1 Take 1 (P300.00 per 60x90 panel) at Homeworld but of course very limited ang designs. Sa Our Home naman P700.00 per panel.  This was during the 3-day sale.  Lately I've been checking out Robinson's. About P500-P700 per panel
ang average price for curtains on sale (discounted na yan by 50%).

My observation naman each panel might be narrow so you will need 2-3 panels or even 4 panels to have  the nice pleated effect. Each panel na 60in kasi 8 grommets lang.

I had a set of curtains for the entire house custom made - some grommet (mostly sheer lang as I want to let light shine through) and a few roman shades.  This was February 2010 and ngayon ko lang na-compare - hindi sila nagtipid sa tela and they're easy to maintain so it's money well spent.

i bought 4 white blackout curtains at sm makati last month. each 96 in. 8-grommet panel costs 1500++.

It's available at all SM HYPERMARKETS and Robinson dept stores as per the sales lady. I bought mine at SM hypermarket MOA. Not sure if they have a website. Their jacquard curtains are also very nice and affordable!

^Got a rod like that sis at our Master's bedroom.. hubby customized lang the straight rod.  He bent it, para tuloy tuloy ang curtain. It was the ordinary rod that can be bought at SM dept stores.

^that's my dilemma with our master bedroom too. for now, naka separate roman shades sila, but i want to change the shades to blackout curtains for easy maintenance. my hubby says the blackout curtains are quite heavy, baka di kaya ng rod pag pina bend.
