^Thanks, sis! The veneers are permanent but I have to be careful in biting. The chewing not so much since I didn't have my molars done just the front teeth. According to my dentist, I have to avoid biting/tearing motion in my veneers i.e. eating corn from the cob, chicken (kasi baka makakagat ako ng bone), etc. Through repeated biting/tearing motion kasi pwede mag-crack yung veneers. I don't mind naman kasi sanay na rin ako na di gumagamit masyado sa front teeth ko since I've had a crown installed in one of my front tooth. Nasabihan din ako before ng dentist na naglagay nun to avoid biting using the crown.

Nainspire rin ako! Nagpa-appointment na ako kay Dr. Tripon. Kung masyadong mahal, pa-refer sa dentst mo, mamasqueak!

Mamasqueak, pakitanong sa dentist mo kung pwedeng symmetrical na symmetrical ang left at right na veneers. Medyo OC kasi ako, ayokong may kahit na konting pagkakaiba sa itsura ng left at right. At gusto ko maputi!

@prettynsmart - sis, meron na syang nagawa na pantay-pantay and super white. Depends kasi sa preference ng patient but he'll also tell you kung babagay sa yo or not yung gusto mo. Like for me I wanted na malapit yung color sa lower teeth ko. Hirap kasi maputi yung upper then lower ko di naman gaano.

^sis, pag veneers hindi niro-root canal. What the dentist did is to grind down a little yung surface ng teeth para hindi makapal kasi dun ididikit yung veneers.

Hey girls!

If you are on a tight budget but you're desperate for porcelain veneers, you can also ask your dentist about direct composite veneers. They're way cheaper than porcelain ones, and the treatment is more conservative (because tooth reduction is very minimal). It can be done in only one appointment. Downside is, in about 5 years, the composite (filling material) should be replaced na, because unlike porcelain, they tend to stain eh. But at least naka veneers na kayo.

Composite veneers can be replaced with porcelain later on, pag may budget na. This is what I recommend to my patients who are dying to get veneers.

^I have composite veneers. I think its called dental bonding also. I love it very much but the maintenance hay naku! So Im planning to get porcelain veneers but Im considering my options pa since madaming klase pala like Lumineers, Empress etc or baka possible din magpa porcelain crowns since I have a big bite

Yeah, you really have to have extra effort in maintaining those things. haha. You get what you pay for. Your life will be easier with ceramics.

I want to have them replaced na nga kaya lang Im still considering my options, una ok daw ang Lumineers at mas cheaper ng onti but it may cause gum irritation daw so balik ako between deciding empress & feldspar ba yun etc

mama squeak: baliktad tayo mas mura sa dentist ko ang porcelain crowns, she quoted me 8k per tooth. sa porcelain veneers naman 12k per tooth but i have yet to ask what kind of veneers are those. such a far cry from my 3.5k/tooth composites haha
