There's also what we call direct composite veneers. Tooth colored resins are used. This has a lot of advantages over porcelain veneers. One, cost. It's a lot cheaper. I charge 1.5k - 3k for each tooth. Two, it saves time, it can be done in only one appointment. Three, the technique is more conservative, as less tooth structure is removed.  It can last up from 8 up to 12 years. You just have to find a good dentist to do it.

Porcelain veneers can last a lifetime though. They won't stain even if you smoke or drink a gallon of caffeine everyday. Yun nga lang the cost, grabe. hehe.

Remember, you pay for the quality of the dental materials.

One unit can cost you 7k-15k. You can ask around for prices too.  Canvass.

this is where they sort of chip the teeth to be able to stick on the veneer,right? how damaging is the "chipping" to the tooth? should you expect tooth sensitivity afterwards?

A conservative technique is used in preparing teeth for veneers. "Damage" done is very minimal. Only the front surface of the tooth and in porcelain veneers the length are removed. Unlike in a jacket crown. enamel is removed 360 degrees.

If teeth are intact and have no caries, it's very heartbreaking for a dentist to do veneers on them. Pero oo, pwede, if the patient wants it. But of course, it's the dentist who knows the best treatment for the patient.

 may question po ako. nakakabad breath ba ang porcelain veneers mga sis?kasi i have several friends who had their teeth done at one of the more popular dentists in makati.maganda kung sa maganda nga mga ngipin nila pero parang we noticed na parang may bad breath sila..na parang tart or bitter scent (di ko ma describe exactly what it is)...di naman ciguro dahil sa poor hygiene kasi mukhang conscious naman sila sa pagbbrush after each meal...ayun tuloy yung isang friend ko lagi siyang may dalang mint strip kasi nacoconscious na siya...

sorry sis.  I got busy with school.  Anyway, my mom paid for my veneers.  I will let you know when I can because my mom will have hers done too with Tripon soon.

which is better po ba ang crown o veeners(magkaiba ba to?), i have a captek crown sa two front teeth, yung isa is walang ipin na so un sa isa na lang naka kapit then me extension sa kabila to hold yung cap na walang ipin, kasi ayaw ko pasira [textspeak!] ipin ko kaya to support yung walang ipin nilagyan ng extension, i paid 26k , after 3 months nasira na yun isang cap, question ko hindi ba talaga matibay ang captek? I had a porcelain fused to metal before na 12 years na so i decided na palitan na pero wala naman damage just the markings sa me gilid ng gums sa itaas due sa metal.

^ sabi nya nga discounted pa yan kasi ni refer ako ng pinsan ko sa kanya, and the bad thing about is 3 months pa lang sira na, and worst is andito na ako sa US and she dont want to refund me, diba kainis, sabi nya ayusin daw nya at no charge, hindi naman makakauwi wala mag aasikaso sa mga anak ko, saka kaya nga ako dyan nag paggawa para makamura kasi sobra mahal dito.

You cant have veneers if you have bruxism/night-grinding. It'll cause the veneer to break.

Sis purple_bear_hugs I'm not sure if having halitosis is related with veneers. cos unlike dentures nakadikit sha dun sa tooth and small thin layer lang ng teeth yung nirereplace nia. meaning there's no way that food particles can get impacted on the tooth that will cause accumulation of bacteria that would result to bad breath(halitosis)

Hey by any chance are you from CEU? I just graduated April last year and passed in June hehe.

I think pwede naman maski may mild bruxism, kasi konti lang naman sa incisal ang bawas eh. Unlike sa crown talaga, as in buong ngipin so hindi talaga pwede ang pag may night grinding
