At Home Teeth Whitening Kits
« on: June 07, 2009, 11:21:34 pm »
Anyone know where I can buy a do-it-yourself teeth whitening kit? I'm not up to going to the dentist for laser teeth whitening.

I'd prefer Crest Whitestrips, but I'll try any brand like Rembrandt, Aquafresh, Supersmile, Go Smile.

If you know where I can find it please be specific as to what city, store, mall, etc...since I'm not from Manila. TIA!!! ;D

My boyfriend is a dentist and he recommends Opalescence. This is available from dentists only and not over the counter, I have tried and tested this - it is an effective method and its far more successful than those brands that is readily available in the market right now, as the product is actually applied to your mould of your teeth - ensuring the product/gel is applied in each tooth.

But if you don't have the budget and want to avoid the dentist, the products that are available on the market will work - but not long term. Sayang lang budget kung bili ka ng bili rather than just going to the dentist for one trip diba?

Suggestion ko lang din also drink coffee, tea or wine with a straw cuz this apparently reduces the stains on teeth - also the right shade of lipstick whitens our teeth too :)  ;D

This is what my bestfriend uses. Effective nga! Her tita kasi is a dentist in US kaya may access dito, nahiya naman ako to make pabili. How much does this cost? Di ba may kasama pa 'to, yung naka-shape mismo sa ngipin?

I use Crest Whitening Strips, pero hindi masyado nagtatagal (or maybe its due to the fact the I smoke and drink coffee). Pero, the thing with Crest or any whitening strips na nagamit ko is my teeth becomes too sensitive. Hindi ko tuloy kaya na straight 7 days gamitin yung pack coz minsan hangin lang, nangingilo na yung teeth ko.
There is a similar thread sa Health Matters were I posted din about a product called Plus White Whitening gel.I saw it on youtube mukhang ok naman and inexpensive.Im still waiting for my tube to try it out, pinabili ko lang kasi.

di ko na po matandaan how much.. pero 10 strips yun for upper and lower teeth (so 20 all in all).. sabi dun continuously gamitin for 10days daw.. pero ako hindi ko ginawa yun.. twice a week lang ako maglagay nung una.. ngayon na white na ang teeth ko at nawala ang stain, once a week na lang.. minsan nagskiskip pa ako.. try amazon sis.. or sa mga multiply sellers.. alam ko pwede pre-order sa kanila.. nasa singapore po kasi ako kaya sa amazon lang ako bibili pag naubos ko na.. second box ko pa lang kasi ito..

2 weeks nga ata yun sis.. check ko later pag uwi ko sa house.. pero hindi ko sinunod na 2 weeks.. kasi nga sabi ng aunt ko, nakaka brittle daw ng ipin.. kaya nakakangilo.. check ko if 10strips up and down.. or if 14 ba.. marami kasing klase..

I agree with Crest white strips, almost all of my friends would comment that I have a bright smile specially yung mga mahilig sa photography, kasi one of the basic things that they edit in a photo is to whiten the teeth, pero in my case, no need na daw.. =)

I want to try din aquafresh.
Sana may magshare how much and where it is available.

Pano ba maiiwasan hindi ma-stain ang teeth if you're drinking coffee? ang hirap naman ata i-straw yung coffee pag mainit, parang weird.hehe

I'm also using Opalescence treswhite supreme,  10 pairs siya for upper & lower teeth for 10 consecutive days use.  Since I'm not a smoker, my dentist advised  me to just use 7,  and use the remaining 3 every 6 months or if I feel that I need to, for maintenance.   It costs Php7,500 and I think it's really worth it as i saw an improvement right after my 1st use. My teeth were really yellow (as my bunso used to ask me, why are your teeth so yellow?) There's a little tingling sensation on the 1st 2 days but after that, it's almost unnoticeable unlike Rembrandt where the sensation is really untolerable.
