Sis Pink, thanks for the very detailed email.  Grabe, dinugo ilong ko sa email mo. Hehe.. Wala kasi akong background masyado sa paggawa ng website. Yung kaisa-isang experience ko lang sa paggawa ng website ay nung 1st year college pa ako na pinaggawan kami ng prof namin ng project tapos imbes na yung form nya ay thru the usual paperwork, e thru the form of website pinaggawa sa amin. May program kami na ginamit para sa layout nung site kasama na pati yung mga linking ng mga iba't ibang pages. Yung host nun ay dun sa office ng dad ko. Ewan ko paano nya ginawa yun. Basta nagpatulong na lang ako sa pag-upload nun sa internet kasi techie yung dad ko.

So, based from the thread subject, "How to Create your own website" ask ko lang kung may alam ka bang crash course or seminar tungkol dito? Vague kasi sa akin yung mga terms na binanggit mo sa email mo especially on how it works/its function (vague kasi wala talaga akong kaalam-alam dito. hehe..  ) though I have some sort of idea naman. Pero syempre iba pa rin kung alam na alam ko mga pinaggagagawa ko. Hehe.. Kasi mukhang trabaho mo pala related sa websites kaya ka pala magaling.  Paano ka pala natuto? Sariling sikap or course mo sya nung college or nag-seminar ka?

^^sis amihan07 and sis vangie88, yung tinuro lang sa amin sa school eh very basic html. I learned about css, web programming and web servers on my own when I started working na. I read my sent mail again and mukhang very techie nga. hehe. sorry ha.

Based on your requirements I guess ok na yung free sites like Multiply 'coz madali na lang magmanage nun. Also, if you want advanced handling ng site mo you can get a premium account. My sis has one and she uses her multiply for her party biz. At least you have more options (I think) with this type of account.
You can also opt to pay for a custom multiply theme for your shop. Yan rin ang ginawa ng sis ko eh.

If you choose a multiply account but wants a more personalized address then you just buy your own domain and have it redirected to your multiply site. Just send me a message if you need help with domain redirects.

If you want to create your own you can choose wordpress or other web applications 'coz it's so much easier than making one from scratch. You can avail of the free themes online or have one customized for you. You have to buy a hosting and domain package for this. Sis missjoan suggested a local provider (http://www.mobilehive.com/hostingplans.php) and this one was recommended by a former instructor of mine: (http://marvinsweb.net). However, I didn't get my hosting packages from these providers as I can get better deals from international hosting but you need to have advanced knowledge on the web to better make use of the hosting package you availed.

Don't purchase a hosting package outright. Check out the features and reviews muna. And you can also practice with a free wordpress account (http://www.wordpress.com) or get a free hosting account para matry nyo yung pagmanage ng site nyo if you opt for paid hosting later. You can try http://www.freeweb7.com -- I've used that before eh para pang practice. It's free but with a very small ad. May wordpress/other web applications na dyan that you can choose to setup para matry nyo.

And since thru GCash and Bank deposits lang muna yung biz nyo pwede na kahit saan dyan sa multiply or paid hosting. Although yung mga shopping carts pwede sa paid hosting account depende sa hosting package na naavail ninyo.

I think you've already experienced using multiply. Try nyo rin muna yung free hosting para may idea kayo about this and from there pili kayo kung ano yung mas ok and mas madali for you.

ako, for my website, http://vanityclinic.com, i used hostmonster last year as my webhost, aroung $3 per month kaya lang pag renew this year, mahal na ang renewal, around $8 per month. so i transferred it to another host na may promo at around $2 per month hosting at justhost.com.. medyo madugo magtransfer ng hosting service pero nagkukuripot kasi. 

mas maganda kung gagamitin mo for business kasi sayang ang bayad kung matutulog lang ang pera mo. for me, i decided to renew it kasi yung website ko na rin nagsisilbing portfolio ko for my writing or makeup gigs.

^yep sis chinchin, nasa top ten webhosts yata ang hostmonster and justhost. Swerte na yung nakuha mo na $3 and $2/mo for the features you get. Kahit na nga maging $8 pa siya per month ok lang kasi maraming features and ok ang storage and bandwidth capacity copared to what package that $8 will have sa local hosting.

Mine is hosted in GoDaddy and Dreamhost. Medyo mahal ang dreamhost pag nagparenew ako less than 2yrs from now but ok lang kasi I like their service naman. Hanap na lang ako ng promos or discounts to lessen the amount pag renewal time na.

^^^^well explained sis pink. galing! i agreed with you na to try free hosting and just used free sub domains i.e. mysite.multiply.com or mysite.blogspot.com.

at least, one can get an idea how to manage a site.
for a start up business, especially involving selling, kung mauubos ang oras sa kaka aral ng html at designs its really waste of energy and time. better spend it on other things like how to promote, sell, and market your products.

then if time comes na one can handle both web management and running  business at the same time then puede na i try pag aralan yung pag gawa ng sariling website para di ka na magbayad ng ibang tao.

Before I purchased my own hosting kasi I made use of freehosts muna. Sayang din yung ibabayad eh kung di talaga magagamit kasi annual ang payment hindi monthly. Yung ibang hosting pa naman may autorenew setting so kahit di mo ginamit and no plans to renew you'll be surprised bakit nacharge ka ulit (though pwede namang maturn-off sa account settings).

For those who's not into the web-related field mahihirapan talaga kayo at first with webhosts sa dami ng options na pwede ninyong gawin sa hosting packages. That's why I suggested to try muna yung free hosting so that you'll have an idea of what it's like to have one, kaya ba ninyong magmanage and magmaintain. Pag natry nyo na to you can decide whether to stick to free sites like multiply and customize your site's layout (and probably buy your own domain), get a hosting package and make your own site or get a hosting package and shell out more money to have someone make that website for you.

Wala akong naging problem sa hositng services nila.

i suggest use freewebs muna para ma train kayo sa pag manage ng website madali lang naman sundin yung instructions..
and i suggest study ftp kasi yan ang madalas mong gagamitin pag may own site kana.
