^^ no sissies, don't take my comment wrong.    I was just surprised to know kase I have several  friends who work for Samsung and sila mismo, hindi bumibili ng Samsung products especially home appliances. Kahit kami, sinasabihan nila never to get Samsung products.

Anyway, the 10 yrs warranty is on the digital inverter compressor and warranty for parts & services is only for 2 years. If ever ma-reprocess ang ref, on the 1st year lang sya free.

hi mga sis, im planning to buy a ref. kaso mostly nag nakikita ko made of plastic na yung loob. yung mga partitions saka yung vegetable drawer plastic na medyo marupok. yung sanyo namin na ref 2 years pa lang pero sira sira na yung interiors. ano kayang brand yung matibay? kahit na plastic pero tipong hard plastic naman na di agad mababasag or mabibiyak. TIA!

madaming klase ang plastic so iba-iba ang tibay. i think yung LG non-inverter ref ng parents ko is more than 10 years old na. still up and working. plastic din ang loob nun.

LG is really of good quality and so is Whirlpool. Yung fridge ng lola ko, Sanyo naman na no-frost, not sure though kung inverter pero we purchased it for her 2 years ago.. until now, walang problema and even the plastic shelves, okay until now.. matibay and hindi manipis unlike others

Pero wala pa din tatalo sa ref namin.. White Westinghouse! Haha.. back up ref na lang sya pero it turned 23 years last April until now, in excellent condition (except the door na may rust na)

matibay nga yung mga ref noong araw. kahit may rust na, running pa rin. malakas na nga lang sila sa kuryente by today's standard.

Agree with White Westinghouse Yun yung longest one in our experience but it had to retire na..

Still confused on what ref to buy.. puro pala wala ng likod ang mga ref ngayon. Condura and kelvinator na lang ang may likod. Maganda sana condura, problem lang is after 2 yrs nag-rust na agad sa may baba and sa pinto current ref namin, kelvinator nman is stainless steel, so hindi daw magrarust, mas mahal nga lang kay condura pero pareho sila ng interior and likod. May inoffer naman samin na LG, stainless steel din, mas mura compare to the 2 said brands, problem lang is wala ng likod and EEF is only 240 while 2 said brands were 282. Hay, ang hirap magdecide which to choose.

ok, gets ko na yung likod. that is the condenser coil. internal na siya, mostly nasa sides. kya if you touch the side of the fridge, it is warm.

Old: mas energy efficient, pag nasira pwede pa maayos, sa labas ang.flow ng water if defrost.

New: environment-friendly coz non-cfc, mas magastos sa kuryente, if masira diretso junk shop.

Sabi lang yan samin, never pa kami nagkaron ng latest ref na no coil.

@omneecka: what the SA said does not make sense to me.

big brands allot money for R&D so they can produce products that offer better features, better cooling at low energy consumption. just like aircon, meron EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) ratings ang mga ref so you can quickly compare efficiency.

yung ref namin ay more than 10 years old na, LG brand, walang likod running 24/7, brown out lang ang pahinga. never had any issue.

teka, ano pala ibig mo sabihin sa latest ref vs old skul ref? considered old skul ba ref namin kasi 10 years old na?

i second the motion, get inverter type para super tipid sa kuryente.

Yes it is. inverter technology is invented to control the compressor motor's speed. variable sya so makaka adjust ang temperature pag hindi binubuksan ang ref para hindi ma overwork ang compressor. Ang traditional compressor motor, it normally works at maximum capacity. It can only rest if na switch off ang ref so this means mas magastos sa kuryente.

Dagdag ko lang about Samsung. We also chose that brand because in the US, yan din ang gamit ng auntie ko sa bahay nila, yun nga lang sa US, lam nyo naman e yung napakalaking ref yung sa kanila with side by side doors, inverter no frost din sya. Samsung also has a very cool TVC na maya't maya e pinapalabas sa major networks. I know that the Samsung here "could" be not what is being sold in the US though pero at least same brand, siguro naman may semblance ng konti.

@sis dm1179, old skul ref sis is yung may coils pa while yung latest is yung wala ng coils likod sis.

We just bought the LG stainless steel ref, walang coils likod pero much better pa rin interior ni condura. Habol ko lang with LG if true is stainless steel cia and hindi magrarust in the long run while yung condura kc is hindi stainless steel and true na after ilang years nagrarust na, in our case after 2 years very visible na ang rust sa may baba ng ref.
