1st Bday

hi all! first time to post in this thread and my son is celebrating his first bday next month. here's what i am doing, im turning my big family background to my advantage. here's what i mean about it.

i have cousins who are single and working and promised to sponsor something for the party. example, my cousin pledged to pay for the ice cream, another cousin said she'll pay for the balloons. the following, may sponsor na:
- birthday cake
- cupcakes
- hotdogs and mallows on sticks

so yun mga no-takers items, yun na pinaghahandaan namin ni hubby. so far, some party items were already bought/paid for.

we had the menu planned na rin.

the great thing is that my hubby's sister and brother and my MIL nag ask din what they can "sponsor." so at least we know na if ma tight sa budget, we can run to them.

first bday naman ng baby ko is on december 25. ang hirap kasi since nasa province kami halos lahat ng venue sarado kasi wala raw silang staff. tsk.. buti na lang party hosts and clowns are available . it is super hirap pag limited ang supplliers kaya i always scout multiply kung san ako pwede maka order.

oh my... ha-ha... i think you need to end up with manila based party planner kaya lang, medyo mapapamahal ka... ay hindi lang medyo, i must admit, mapapamahal ka talaga most especially kung December 25 mo talaga gaganapin kasi Holiday yan... kahit dito sa Manila, double paid na talaga... what more pag provincial pa?

^i agree! and unless most of your bisita are relatives, i doubt madaming makakapunta sa party since usually christmas day is reserved for family get togethers

you can try sending out save the date card na as early as today and ask for their confirmation... para kahit papaano magkaroon ka ng idea kung may darating nga...

pero i agree with hunny_ally and shielathevamp... and to tell you honestly, kami lang, hindi kami tumatanggap ng booking pag December 25... last year lang, may nag-offer pa sa amin to pay us thrice the regular rate, within Marikina pa... pero we declined it talaga... ewan ko lang with other PP's.

agree with everyone. i think you must move the date, Dec 26th para tuluy tuloy party. if i'll get invited on a birthday party on Dec 25th, i  don't think we would come. family day yan e.

if december 27 (sun), invited kayo sa party, pupunta kayo? problem ko rin kasi baka walang magpunta sa bday party ng baby ko dahil holidays yun they might be out of town or might attend reunions...

anyways, i have decided to get shakey's e rod as a party venue.  para di gano mahal ang gagastusin. the theme would be thomas and friends. excited narin ako like the other mommies here. any feedbacks on this venue?

  I guess those who really LOVE you would take time to be there. Send them the invite in advance, so you can check kung makakapunta ba sila.

We attended a bday party before Feb 14 yun. The father's celebrant said na dun na lang kami mg date.
Super OK libre date namen. Hotel ginawa yung bday eh . hehe

the best talaga is magpadala ng save the date card and get their decision na agad kung go sila or not...

kasi like, i have a friend na laging one week or less na lang kung magpadala ng invites... sa tagal na siguro naming magka-barkada, once pa lang kami naka-attend at super late pa kaming nakarating since we had our business... eh kasi nga, pag nagpapadala siya ng invite eh naka-plot na yung mga assignment namin at nai-commit na namin yung presence namin sa mga clients namin..

kung hindi naman client, siyempre since wala kaming weekend (due to our line of business), masaya kami pag Holiday kasi yun ang time namin to spend with our family or kung wala kaming client for that weekend, panalo pa rin kami kasi magkakaroon kami ng chance na mag-bonding mag-anak... malayo pa lang, gagawa na kami ng plano as to how we'll spend our day...

now going back to the topic, as early as last month talaga, nakagawa na kami ng plan for December 25 to January 1... kung ngayon kami makakatanggap ng invites that would fall on those dates, no choice kami, but to decline.. not because hindi namin love yung nang-invite... but because, we can't afford to break our daughter's heart... siyempre, nag-expect na yun... aminin man natin o hindi, mas importante siyempre yung feelings ng anak natin, di ba?

just the same, kanya-kanya pa rin yan ;-) he-he... one and only daughter kasi yung sa amin kaya super important sa amin lagi yung feelings niya... once kasi, sa sobrang busy namin, hindi namin napansin na lumalaki na pala ang anak namin at naghahanap na... a year ago, bigla na lang tumawag ang Mama ko, asking us to get home right away... we were about to be done pulling out from a client's party and plano sana naming lumabas munang mag-asawa before going home to unwind... kaso yun nga, since breakfast daw, walang ganang kumain yung daughter namin... at nung gabi na nga, nagmukmok na lang sa loob ng bedroom namin at nakuntento na lang na nakahiga lang sa kama... hindi daw siya kakain kung hindi kami kasabay :-( waaaaaaaaaah... naiyak talaga ako...

My son's birthday din is on Dec 25.  1st birthday nya so kailangang may party.  We are from Laguna, so province din sya. 
Dec 19 ko gagawin yung thanksgiving party nya sa Orphanage, dito sa Tagaytay.  Mag bulk order na lang ako sa Jollibee tapos magpapa decorate na lang ako ng balloons.  Kuha na lang din ako ng clowns para may games.
Then, Dec 25, for our close relatives lang.  Alam ko naman na marami talagang hindi pupunta so yung family lang namin on both sides ang invited.
Sa Jan 9, that will be his main party.  Jan 12 din kasi b-day ko so double celebration na lang.  Tipid pa. 
Super expensive kasi pag Christmas season.  Dito sa Laguna, may transpo charges na may additional charges pa kapag December.  Hirap talaga.

ive found a venue na and party host even if it the party will be on dec 25. may extra bayad lang nga. ang problema ko na lang guests. hehe...

bluekaren780-- nakakaguilty talaga pag kulang ang oras natin sa anak natin pero kailangang kumayod eh otherwise we cant give them the best. Bawi na lang tayo kung may pagkakataon. that is what i usually do.

oo nga eh... sobra... kaya nga there are times na ipinakikiusap namin siya sa client kung ok lang na isama namin siya... in fairness, napapakinabangan na namin siya at the age of 5 ;-)... siya ang taga-lagay ng table centerpieces... siya rin ang taga-ayos ng mga lootbags, taga-lagay ng mga coloring pages and crayon sa kiddie table... and then pag start na ng party, nandun na siya sa may door, inviting guests to get inside tapos in-inform niya yung mga kids kung nasaan ang mga side activities... he-he...

Hello mga mommies, nakakaexcite mgread ng mga thread especially in preparation for our baby's 1st birthday. Kahit inaabot na ko ng puyat kakabasa ng mga thread eh sige pa rin.. hehe. My baby will turn one this November 11 but we'll make the party on November 15 sa Jollibee bluewave Macapagal Ave. We just thought that this is the best place so it will be midway for all the guest since some will be coming from Malabon, Q.C. and Cavite.We decided na we'll just make a simple party sa fastfood since d pa raw maapreciate ng baby ang event pero kung ako lang gusto ko sana eh medyo okay na pero majority ng family gusto nila ganito na lang daw muna so go na rin ako sa ganito..As in medyo ngarag na ko kc venue, photog at video pa  lang ang naiayos ko. plan to DIY na lang the invites coz later itapon lang naman yon. Already bought some items for the lootbags though plan to buy pa sa Divi paguwi ko sa pinas. Im still undecided if to order  pa a customized cake para magmatch sa theme ko which is Strawberry shortcake eh since d naman puedeng kainin sa Jollibee. Still thinking if pavenue decor pa ba eh 2 hrs lang  naman ang party at d naman maiuuwi ang balloons ;-) Still looking for supplier para man lang kahit sana sa balloon burst.. and also still arranging for the guestbook and souvenirs for the guest.. Mahirap magplan ng birthday especially when you're not in the Philippines pero enjoy naman kasi you know naman that you're doing it for your baby... hehe.. so wish us all mga mommies in planning and congrats sa mga mommies na nakatapos na ng mga parties.

shakey's e.rod ba sis, sabi ng PP ko, highly recommended daw yung venue na iyon ,sa january pa ang birthday ng baby ko pero we will have it booked by october or november na siguro.

Food lang din ba ang kukunin mo sakanila sis?

i love the venue kasi may arcade na sa loob and yet, since hawak mo ang main dining during your party, bihira talaga ang magwa-walk in kahit pa open ang regular function hall nila for walk-in clients kasi pag nakitang may party, nati-turn off na...

meaning, solo pa rin ng mga kids ko yung arcade... gusto ko kasi na pati yung paglalaro nila sa arcade ma-capture sa photo and video.... kung gagawin ko ito sa WOF or Tom's World or Fun Ranch, hindi ko magagawa yun... kasi hindi naman nila kino-close totally to the public yung mga place nila para exclusive for you na tulad ng Bounce na kahit nga weekends, kino-close nila yung venue nila for you alone.

9/11 is my baby's birthday, we had a very small dinner party here in our place, meaning family only... and today, September 12 we're going to have a big 1st birthday party... and it's been raining non-stop! Hay...
