Nursing Dog & Newborn Puppies

^ congrats at lola ka na rin pala like me. hehe

ganyan ata pag bagong panganak ang aso, ayaw kumain for a few days, pero babalik din appetite at lalakas pang kumain.

yung dog ko medyo konti gatas so the vet recommended the ff:

enmalac milk enhancer (liquid)
kawu calcio-fosforo (calcium tablets)

both i got for P250 each, if you're wondering...

and milkodog (powdered milk) - medyo mahal kasi P650 for a small can.

tapos for her diet, ang gusto nya yung masabaw. so malunggay soup with rice... and chicken tinola with rice ang mostly gusto nyang kainin.

sa trinoma tiendesitas puro esbilac ang nakita ko. baka cheaper yun, so try mo kung ok sa dog mo... as far as i know, di pwede cow's milk sa dogs.... sobrang tatakaw yung aso mo, so be prepared. kung dati 2x ko lang feed aso ko, now nursing sya mga 3-4x plus snack pa.

btw, be careful dun sa bowl of water ha. baka kasi mapuntahan ng pups at malunod sila... yung sakin sa cage nag give birth, tapos yung water bowl nya naka-hang para safe.

my pasaway retriever gave birth last week. awa ng Dyos lahat naman buhay pa at matataba pa.

kailan ba bubukas mata nila para makita na nila kami hehe.

  2 weeks sis, mag start mag open ng eyes nila.

Mga sis, my precious pet just gave birth yesterday. I am so worried kasi stress na stress siya, hingal na hingal, haba ng dila ngayon ko lang siya nakita na ganun kahingal. So pinainom ko siya water, ilang lick lang ayaw na niya then pinainom ko siya Bear Brand to try kung iinom siya milk ( bad ba yung Bear brand sa mom? ) ayun ang lakas uminom naka 3 baso siya. Naubos na yung isang sachet ng Bear Brand nagpabili ako ulit kaso wala na Anchor na lang sabi ko sige pwede na siguro.

Tapos nakikita ko gusto na niya matulog kaso hindi matuloy tuloy kasi ang kulit ng mga puppies niya, pag nakakalayo naaawa ako kasi syempre hindi niya mahawakan ang ginagawa niya pinupunta niya sa kanya gamit nguso niya o di ba stressful, pag kinuha ko at ibabalik ko sa kanya tipong tatayo naman siya.

Ano ano ba pwede ipainom at ipakain sa nursing dog? Sabi ng bf ko pinakuluang buto ng baboy or baka, Agree ba kayo dun? Askal pa la aso ko FYI

3 puppies lang baby niya, one black, one white, one black and white hehe. Gusto niyo?

  He-he! tempted ako sa offer mo sis! Anyway ask ko lang re her behavior, first litter ba niya ito? May ibang bitches kasi talagang di mag take maging mom first time around, this is normal. Medyo lito, di alam anong gagawin sa mga puppies maski pa try mo sila ipadede ka kanya. O di mapakali at na stre-stress siya tuloy sa whole situation.

Minsan sa first few days lang naman ito, tapos pag nasanay na siya, usually she'll settle down na and learn to nurse and clean them by licking them all the time. Importante itong licking kasi that's how she bonds with them and learns their smell. Bantayan mo lang sis, basta nakakadede ang pups ok na yun.

To the other sis w/ bitches that just gave birth re their diet, just add another meal. If they used to eat 1-2x/day make it 3x and add just a little more food per meal to increase the amount they're eating as they're nursing bitches and need the extra calories for good milk letdown. Always have plenty of fresh water on hand as this helps with milk production.

Good luck with raising your litters, I'm so naiinggit at love ko mag raisa ng puppies kasi. Wether aspin or may lahi pare-pareho lang ang pag aalaga. Mas lamang ang aspin as their immune sytems are stronger pa nga eh. If may namamatay sa litter it's very sad it happens but its Mother Nature's way of culling a litter, ikanga only the strongest survive.

i've read that licking also stimulates peeing and pooping. so kelangan talaga. otherwise, mano-mano mo daw gagawin yun.

Yesterday kumain na siya naubos na niya yung meal niya, ulam niya dinuguan, hehe, pero sa tubig pihikan ayaw uminom ng madami, ginagawa ko pinapadilaan ko daliri ko na sinawsaw sa tubig, kadiri IKR, pero after ng madaming beses na ganun saka lang siya iinom ng madami. @airborne09 uhm, if I'm not mistaken pangatlo na niya ata to or apat? hehe. Yung mga puppies okay naman sila sa dedehan, yung bunso madalas ko nilalapit sa dede kasi bunso eh, special attention talaga.

Yesterday, a day after niya manganak nakaka idlip na siya pero hindi matagal, hingal pa din siya. Kanina before ako umalis tulog siya pero hindi din malalim na tulog. Worried much?

^ yung milkodog actually is for the puppies pero pina-inom din sa mom... the other 2 are for the mom talaga. calcium supplement and pampa enhance ng milk production.

  Di kaya medyo mainit where she is sis? Dapat di na siya masyado hingalin, if not feeling ko nag la-labor pa din siya. Eh mukang that's not the case. See lang sis if pwede mo lagyan ng elec. fan na mahina at di nakatutok ang hangin sa pups. Asd in tilt the fan pataas para lang may air. If you have a small desk fan muna to cool her try mo, see if it helps. Kawawa kasi ang masyado napapagod na b****, kelangan din maka rest siya mabuti.

 My dogs are spoiled, as in naka a.c. sa room namin. So Cocker ko na I bred before, hello! ayaw mag stay sa room na walang a.c. So mag a.c. kami na mahina tapos balutin mabuti ang unico hijo niyang puppy para di malamigan, may lamp din para sure na warm ang puppy. After awhile ayan pati puppy nasanay ng aircon! Mabilis mainitan din.

hi there. mukhang ayaw na magpasuso ng aso namin ano ba ang mgandang substitute na gatas for them?

puppy love o esbilac ang nabanggit sakin e. saan dito makakbili?

  Sis may 2 weeks na ba ang puppies mo? Kasi weaning na yan at ayaw na talaga mag pa dede si mom kasi may ipin na at masakit na. So pwede mo na sila i slowly switch to semi-solid puppy food. What i do I soak the dry puppy food till soft in water. Before feeding it to the pup I put some milk para medyo wet oatmeal ang labas and teach them to lick/eat that. Pa konti-konti lang ha? They'll learn to lick the food pa, so be patient. Try and feed them 3x/day in between they're nursing pa of course. Nako pag marunong na yan kumain ng food tatakaw na sila at bubundat!

  Also at 2 weeks it's time for their first deworming. Ask your vet if they can give your pups a seperate vaccination for parvo virus only at 4 weeks, I always find this shot essential this early on. Really prevents any parvo, much better than a combi shot first. The Combi shot will follow naman a week after. I've bred several litters doing this and I've never had an incidence of parvo.

Good to know nag settle dwon na siya sis. Ok lang sa water inatke, basta meron lang parati near her. Good luck sa puppies! Kiss their tummies for me, pinaka fave thing ko yan, love the smell of a puppy's tummy!

ay mga sis maiinggit kayo, hehe, yung mga puppies kasi nakakatuwa mga pinag-gagagawa, sa gabi mejo maingay sila, wala pa sila 1 week though, tabi tabi kasi kami sa kama, yung dog katabi ko talaga yun may baby o wala, kagabi nga may nalaglag na isa, hehe, kaya ayun ang ingay nung dog ko, okay naman siya.

Basta they've been 2x derwormed and nag 1 combi vaccination shot na, even at 2 months/8 weeks pwede na.

sabi nung vet nila pwede na daw sila for adoption... (although sa US parang may law na dapat 3 or 4 months ata. not really sure)... they're now 2 months & 2 weeks old. the new sets of parents are already waiting for them pero ayoko pa. hehe... baka after xmas nalang... or new year's... or...  =)

He-he! It's really hard to let the little cuties go sis. Pero the sooner you do, the better it is before ka masyado ma attach pa lalo. Tell yourselves their going to a good, loving home and your making their future parents very happy.

^ wow sis excited ka na talaga ha. Yan ang di ko nagawa dun sa dog ko, ang paanakin sya. Nandun kasi sya house ng parents ko that time. Weekends lang namin sya nakikita. Iniwan namin sya dun kasi bawal daw sa pregnant dogs ang long drive (2 hours kasi ang byahe). Update us ha. Goodluck! Magiging lola ka na.

i will have to let them go before xmas para naman happy din adoptive parents nila. their first xmas together.

maka lola pa naman sila. hehe... ewan ko kung sino mas malakas ang iyak when the day finally arrives. ako o yung mga tuta. huhu...

^^oo nga sis magiging lola na ako for the second time sa kanya. kasi wala talaga ako balak pabuntisan sya, buti natandaan ko yung first na stud nila nakita ko kasi magkakabit na sila. eh japanese spitz sya kaya mixed tuloy ang anak nila. hehe

wala pang signs na manganganak na sya, naku sana naman hindi madaling araw. kakatuwa ngang kapain mga puppies nya galawan ng galawan sa loob.
