hi girls, im also planning of opening a nail salon minus the nail art, acrylic nails and extenders. pure basic service lang of maniped and foot spa.
i have my manicurist na, problem is the space, the one im eyeing is still in construction stage and quite far from my place.
meron namang mas malapit sakin, wala namang foot traffic akong nakikita.
i also plan of doing home service.
sana malinawan na ako.

^sis, halos newbie lang din naman ako but i make sure kapag napasok ako ng new teritorry, i read the rules and minsan, makiramdam ka na lang..

you can give pointers naman di ba since may ganoon kang business, kita naman na yun sa signature mo.

Anyway, to answer some of the TS' queries, I guess mura pa din ang mga materials when you buy them sa Hortaleza comapred sa mga malls.

i klnow someone who owns a nail spa biz, she researched for one year before she started her biz. sana ganun din yung ibang plan magtayo, nail care biz is not biro, pag kulang sa training your nail techs, wawa your clients.

the one i know who owns the nail spa, she has a trainer pa on her payroll, para make sure na up to date ang alam ng mga nail techs nila. this is one of my dream businesses, coz I'm a polish addict my self, my collection pa lang pwede na ako magtayo ng salon haha. i have 100+ branded polishes na, sana nga madali lang magtayo nito.

i have a design in my mind na. kaso ang lagi ko pinoproblema, san kukuha ng nail tech at san mo papatrain. nasa kanila kase buhay ng biz eh, kahit anong ganda pa ng salon mo, or updated ka sa nail trends, if di sila magaling, di ka babalikan ng mga clients (as per my experience, pag di ko type maglinis, di na ako nabalik sa salon).

sana gaya sa US, meron din licensure ang mga nail techs!

yun pa isang number 1 problem, how to train manicurist for the nail art. kung meron pa, they charged super duper high.
maybe you can start with the basic services first, yung walang nail art, just what like facial world did, puro basic services for the face and body.

me too, if dont like how they do my nails, i dont go back. ako na lang maglinis ng kuko ko than go back.

hi mga sis, yung friends ko nag start ng nail spa business.. mag-open pa lang this july. gusto ko nga sana sumali kaso may iba akong pagkakaabalahan ng expenses (preggy kasi ako)..

ang alam ko lang na ginawa nila is to have a consultant para sa business.. tapos yung venue.. then yung mga couch din need maghanap ng comfortable couch.. tapos alala ko lang yung callus remover ba yun dun ata sila nahirapan maghanap.. parang along quiapo pa sila nakakita nun.. dinalaw kasi nila ako one time sa bahay tapos nauwi sa meeting nila tungkol sa business nila.. happy pa rin naman ako kasi nakatulong naman ako sa design ng tarp nila hehe. mahirap lang daw maghanap ng manicurist kasi nga yung iba raw murderers talaga. tapos yung iba naman gusto stay-in lalo na pag malayo yung bahay from the shop.. ang pasahod nila sa manicurist 5k tapos pag naka-quota, may 30% na comission pa.

If i may ask, how many % is your net out of your monthly gross income? Been to this franchise business for almost 3 years now. Looking on a daily operation, our salon seems to be in good condition. But figurewise napapaisip kaming mag asawa. We felt that the income we got is not worth the stress it gives us.

Reading from postings here mukhang madali sya but in reality look at the nature of the main asset of this kind of business: the people or personnel. Very unpredictable ang mga staff. No matter gaano kabait sa kanila. In the end hindi pa din enough for them to work the way they are expected to.

By the way our salon is named after a famous hairstylist. I agree with sis iggypop, get the best cashier/manager that will handle the business.

hi there. malapit na matapos yung nail salon ko...pinipinturahan na.. may isang room na maliit for WAXING... biglaan yung pag set up ko ng nail salon kasi yung space, free since mother ko yung may ari ng bldg. pero honestly, space pa lang yungmeron. wala pang suppliers and training centers. any suggestions? yung nail salon ko pala meron ding beauty products (reseller din kasi ako ng beauty products). ang dami ko pang hindi naayos since bio student ako-so sobrang busy. pero ito talaga ang passion ko-anything about pagpapaganda  sa dorm ko sa manila, suki ako sa isang nail salon sa bldg namin, nagtatanong tanong din ako. and napansin ko cozy ang ambiance kahit sobrang liit (5seats lang) kasi yung seat nila leather type and very relaxing, yung parang upuan ng CEO  tapos may LCD tv kaya nalilibang yung customers, at masmarami silang ina-avail na service. that's exactly what happens to me whenever i go there.

there's one i saw sa sulit about starting your own nail spa business. for 15k capital lang. with free spa consultation, including staff training and operational support.

i want to start this business kahit home-service muna para walang bayad sa space  yung mga staff, pwede silang on-call or by schedule, o diba parang doctor lang

I used to own a vedic spa at Xavierville Ave in QC and I just like to make a reminder to those who would like to enter this business, just a reminder you have to man the spa yourself and make routine check ups on your cubicles or rooms kasi minsan the masseuses tend to make contracts with the spa clients and tell them to just give them a call if they want to go on service at home then you wont get paid if that happens another thing is make sure you do daily inventories on supplies specially the oils and scrubs, it happened to me it can happen to anyone, if you train your attendants make sure that they will be doing what they have been taught to do minsan kasi magmamagaling and then you will end up having phone calls from unsatisfied clients, and lastly make sure that your attendants are just up for the massage and stuff and no happy endings, like i said it happened to me it can happen to anyone.

dream business ko rin po ito.. nag tatanong tanong ako sa isip ko kung san din ako kukuha ng nail technician, nang mag mamasahe.. and the rest madali na lang naman eh. sa province kasi ako at wala pang ganto samin.. namiss ko kasi nun nasa city ako, madalas din ako sa nail salon.

i want to set up a salon/spa. I will start researching na rin re seminars and equipment. What I want to know is how much kaya ang kita ng ganito on an average day at pag peak days like weekend? I have no idea kasi. I want to start with 5-7 seats siguro.

sobrang interested din ako with spa business, balak ko mag franchise di ko lang alam how much. PM me naman mga sis kung isa sa inyo is into franchising na. thanks thanks....

usually 1 to 2m ang franchise plus cost to start.
based on my observation mas gusto ng tao pag may name yung salon or spa.  medyo mahirap if you start on your own, you have to make the place look really nice pero affordable services.
