^i think jesi mendez (im not sure kung tama yung spelling ko) maganda mag makeup. i haven't tried it, pero nakikita ko paminsan yung mga nagpapamakeup dun maganda naman (robinsons galleria branch).

If you're looking for makeup artist talaga, may thread na ganito din sa wedding category. may mga list of makeup artist dun.

Ohmygosh I'm so glad to have stumbled upon your post!

I'm excited to share my experience!

I'm not a big fan of salon makeup artists. Personally, and no offense to you guys but I don't find them competitive enough. I have my own disastrous experiences in numerous salons in the past few years that I've learned my lesson. So I resorted to the REAL makeup artists -- those who do makeups on models for photoshoots.

They will be a bit pricey but trust me, they're VERY VERY worth it. They're very experienced as compared to the salon stylists (lagi lang sila nasa salon and they aren't exposed to the world of fashion).

Here's one MUA I'd recommend:
Chichi Sotomil

You can inquire for her fee and she lives in Las Pinas so kindly arrange a schedule for her with allowance for her travel time. She has done makeups for photoshoots already and knows how to play with your features.

Good luck! :)

i have a friend who is loyal to jesi mendez for hair and makeup. there's one person she goes to in particular but i forgot the name. for those on a budget for hair, my friends (who are performers) like to go to wow salon to get their hair done. they say you get good results for a cheap price. don't ask me where they're located though, i don't know myself.

Elaine Ganuelas does my hair & makeup for my wedding and all the occasions I go to.

She regularly does photoshoots for known local magazines, a part of the Loreal Professionel team, works for MAC & Jane Iredale

i've tried george bantolino of sir george salon. pricey lang nga. HMU is 2k. maayos naman gawa nila. :)

nakapag-try na rin ako sa isang small salon sa escolta. LOL. HMU is 600 only. maayos rin naman.

san sila nagkakatalo? sa brand ng make ups nila. kay sir george, puro mac. sa small salon sa escolta, nichido and mga local brands gamit nila. good thing na hindi ako nagbreak out. hehe!

i've heard good feedbacks for Watercolors. meron sa timog area and shang plaza. i was supposed to try them one time, pero sa timog kasi, close pala sila pag sunday. shang was too far during that time. parang 600 rin singil nila for HMU. :D

^ kung sa mall, ang natry ko na ok si Jejo from Studio 546 sa Shang, 800 yta ang ang fee niya pero that was 2 years ago. Magaling siya kaya lang di ko masyado feel ugali niya. Ok din yung girls from Watercolors Shang, nasa 700 or 800 yata fee nila. Jesi Mendez Greenhills (Promenade), ok din naman yung makeup, nasa 1k yung fee.

thanks pretty in pink!
i called Salon De Manila, price is 2700php if its before they open. (i'm attending an early event, need to have my hmu done before 9am). their regular price daw is Php2000, but since they have to open early, they charge an extra 700Php. seems reasonable.
i also checked piandre. EXAG!!! they are charging double if its before salon hours, so the make up will cost me Php4000. I think this is too expensive.

I'll try to look up Watercolors in Timog, need to be qc area kasi eh.

others sisters, pls add or recommend more people!!!
its really hard to find good hair and make up in salons, but i don't want to spend too much on make up that i'll take off in about 5 hours. hehe=)

Hi Ladies!
i tried Watercolors West Ave, c/o ms. ghie.
Hair and Make up cost around PHp1700+

I Like It!!!!
my sister tried a really high end make up artist, (won't say his name), which cost her Php5000+ .
The result of her make up and mine --- almost the same!

relatives thought I also had my make up done by the high-end muartist. hehe=) talk about splurge vs save!

Another thing,
the make up done on me, was very light and natural.
so if you are looking for something dramatic.. hmm.. am not sure if watercolors can deliver.

but base from my experience yesterday, i'll go back to watercolors for basic make up and hair needs. hehe=)
