Dual citizenship - ok ba?

totoo ba yung nabasa ko na pag i-present mo sa phil immigration ang foreign passport + identification certificate, yung tatak mo may "PC" "IC" (pala) meaning id cert also presented?

(pag foreign passport + phil passport naman - "PP" ang tatak.)

sa akin "RC" nakasulat. It means recognized citizen. Pero yun sa certificate from Immigration, nakasulat is "Identification Certificate". I think it's the same thing.

I have both Phil and US passport pero wala kong dual citizenship na documents kase dito naman ako sa pinas pinanganak. Which passport do I present paglabas ko ng pinas and pagbabalik na ko?

Pwede ba na walang dual citizenship docus? Kasi before wala din kami ng kapatid ko, and we wanted to use the bno passport to depart Philippines to go to HK. sabi ng philippine immigration, we have to apply for dual citizen muna before we can use it kasi pag wala daw, how will they even know that we are really entitled to hold that passport(kasi we are born in the pinas naman). Baka naman fake siya or illegal or something.

^ kung pupunta ka ng US, e di US passport ang gamitin mo. Para di ka mahirapan sa Point of entry sa US.
Wala namang hassle kung yung US passport mo uli yung gagamitin mo pag balik mo ng pinas e. 

Ang mahirap lang, kapag may stamp ka na IC pag pasok mo sa Pinas, pag balik mo ng US may additional fees kang babayaran sa immigration sa Pinas:

P1350- ECC Fee
P500- Express Processing Fee (what's this???)

plus the P750 terminal fee, so be ready to dish out about P 2,600 para lang makalabas ng immigration. Hay!

Minsan hindi ko nalang sinasabi na may recognition ID ako, kasi ganun din naman, bibigyan ka nila ng visa to be able to enter the Philippines then magbabayad ka rin ng P 2,600 pag alis mo. Ano ang benefit ng IC dun?

Wala akong philippine passport but I'm having no problems travelling to the Phils. Ano nga ba uli ang benefit of having a Phil passport?

benefit of having Phil passport is you can travel to SEA countries visa-free. And if you need to apply for something dito sa pinas, fore example bank account, you can present your Phil passport

^Also, a lot of South American countries don't require a visa for holders of Philippine passport pero they require visas for US passport holders.

Nakita na nilang may recognition ako, na kahit punit punit na...tapos pag nakita nila na foreign passport lagi akong pinapabayad ng fee na ganyan. Kahit sabihin ko pang may ID ako. So dapat walang fee pag may tatak akong RC? Kawawa naman kasi ako dahil pinipilit ko talga di magbayad at hindi na ako ng dadala ng Phil peso bago umalis (just for the terminal fee lang) but I always end up exchanging for more Phil peso sa may immigration kasi pinipilit nila ako...

^Brazil requires a visa for US passport holders, but not for Phil. passport holders.
Cuba obviously, di puede ang US citizens.

Pag kumuha ka ng Phil passport, kelangan yung birth cert mo to establish that you are really a Filipino. Kung fake man yon or illegal, mache-check naman ng immigration yon. Basta ang sabe kase sa ken ng Immigration dati, basta may Phil passport daw ako, ok na. Hinde lang nila sinagot kung ano bang passport gagamitin ko palabas. Siguro para safe parehas ko na lang pakita. Kung hanapan nila ko ng docs ehdi tignan nila [textspeak!] ko at yung consular report of birth abroad ko.

^^Wow now ko lang yan nalaman. Iniisip kase namin ni hubby na kelangan sa States ako manganak para hinde na ko mahirapan mag-petition sa baby namin, Kase sya hinde ko pa naayos yung petition din.

Question: Bakit yung iba kelangan pa mag-file ng petition para sa mga anak nila?

ayan twelvth_goddess you got better advice from our GTs...I guess mas mapapadali nga kung pupunta ka ng US to have a baby. Magastos nga lang!

Ang alam kong nagpepetition sa anak e yung mga naturalized citizens and therefore yung anak nila when born were filipino citizens. Since naturalized na sila, pede na silang mag petition. better ask other GTs. Based lang yan sa experience ko. In your case you are a citizen at birth already so all that your dad had to do was prove to the US govt na us citizen ka kasi wala ka pang documents by that time, then of course everything flows through, you can go anytime to your country.

alam ko kailangan wala. We even asked the officer who interviewed us sa Immigration during the dual citizenship application. Sabi ng officer, just present the passport and the certificate, no need to pay anything. And kaya ka may Identification Certificate kasi yun ang certificate na nagsasabi na Filipino ka kahit na foreign passport holder ka. Have you tried presenting your Phil passport at the same time?

from what i know, China kailangan (mahal pa! P5500! better if pinas passport, P1400 lang hehe). Cuba of course hindi pwede. North Korea, mahigpit magrelease ng visa for US passport holders. Hindi ko na alam yun iba e

^^ ang problem ko ilovescadasport, wala akong philippine passport e. sabi kasi ng papa ko dati ok na daw yung foreign passport ko. wala din kasing nag advise sakin nun kaya hindi ko na nalakad.  sige next time try ko pa rin ipaliwanag sa immigration bago magbayad. argument to the max uli!

^ah ok. pero born in the philippines ka? What about your parents? Both pinoys or foreign citizens din? Assuming US pasport ka (or kung ano man yun foreign passport mo, example lang US para mabilis itype hehe),If you're:

1)Born in the US, living here in the Philippines, you're holding US passport, you need I-card. If wala, meaning you're here illegally kahit may dual citizenship papers ka

2)Born in Pinas, one of your parents is american and the other is pinoy, you're holding US passport, and you have dual citizenship papers, kailangan hindi ka hingian ng fees sa immigration. Maybe humihingi sila kasi kala nila you're a foreigner living here in the Philippines kahit native-born ka. Maybe it's also better if you show your parents' marriage contract na nakasulat na pinoy one of your parents, so technically pinoy ka din, so ang result is that hindi ka alien dito as pinas. Or maybe it'll be easier if you apply for philippine passport?

Magulo din immigration. Anyway, I got this info from my friend's son who's working in the immigration. Hopefully updated yun info na binigay sa akin hehe

^^Yup, it's better if you have a Phil passport kase yan yung turo sa ken ng mga taga-Immigration.

Kasi  applicable yung #2 na scenario mo sakin. Ang point ko lagi sa immigration officers, pinoy naman ako, bakit na pepenalize ako for visiting pinas?  Basta something might have gone wrong when I first entered Pinas again after getting my dual citizenship papers na nagttrigger ng fees. Or medyo engot lang talga yung ibang immigration officers?

Un lang ang maipapayo ko sa mg ddual citizens, make sure na tama ang treatment sa inyo sa immigration and ask first before paying any fees.

^or pwede din na alam nila na pinoy ka talaga, tapos niloloko ka lang nila. kasi siguro naisip nila na you'll have no choice but to pay para makapagabroad ka. better talaga if may Philippine passport ka, since it will serve as your "Philippine I.D." na rin

medyo naguguluhan ako. What fees are you talking about? Papasok ng Pilipinas or palabas?
I remember kasi nung palabas kami ng Pilipinas, ako lang ang nagbayad ng fees kasi ako yung may Philippine passport and yung husband and baby ko were holders of a US passport and ako lang ang pinabayad. Sila (husband and baby), wala.
