naka-one year na sa amin ang pasaway na yaya last december. i gave her one month's salary as a bonus. wala na akong ibang gift sa kanya, pero i gave her two sons 2 shirts and a pair of shorts each. my mom also gave her 1,000php as a gift.

for me by performance din.. nasa usapan namin yan ni yaya pero this is like an incentive lang.. like if for this month nagkarashes si baby.. wala sya additional bonus..

Our helper is her 1st year yesterday. So the last time hindi kasama ang groceries, kaya groceries every month kasama na sa expense namin. Tapos pang load for her to contact her family.

salary increase ng yaya all around of 2 yrs
« Reply #48 on: March 01, 2010, 04:35:34 pm »
hello mga sis!

my yaya all around will be going home this april.  she will be 2 yrs with us on may. i am thinking of telling her that i will give her salary increase when she comes back, but i can't decide on how much salary increase.

she started with 3500p, now her salary is 4800p.  so far, okay naman siya, masipag, di mapili sa trabaho, may initiative, responsible.  and now, she cooks for us na rin.  what do you think po? gawin kong 5000p on may or 5200p or 5500p?

ang hirap ng makahanap ng okay na maid ngayon, so parang gusto ko siyang taasan ng 5500p, pero gusto ko muna pakinggan ang mga opinion niyo.

thanks!

by the way, one of the reasons why gusto ko siya bigyan ng salary increase after she comes back para magkaroon siya ng gana bumalik after her vacation.  i will also be giving her return fare after she comes back.

mukhang sobrang okay naman helper mo, kung tingin mo deserving sya sa 5,500 then go! warning lang na since 2 years lang pa lang sya, medyo bago bago pa... we still do not know kung lalaki ba ulo nya eventually.

yung maid ng friend ko, more than 10 years na sa kanila, meron na rin 15k to 20k ang salary. sobrang okay raw kasi. sinasama rin nila when they go abroad.

Devil's Advocate lang ako ha.
I know naman that we have to reward our helpers who are doing an exceptional job. IMO lang, instead of a permanent salary increase, mas ok na bigyan mo nalang ng bonus pagbalik. Or bigyan mo ng bonus from time instead of itali mo ang sarili mo sa higher salary.

if you think about it, sa mga nagwo-work din naman na kagaya ko, we don't get an increase unless it's our appraisal schedule. Further, our increase ranges from 10% to 30% siguro if we are retaining our position. My point is, baka umabot sa point na feeling ng helper obligasyon na natin increase san sila every 6 months instead of annual.

Think about it din. Peace! :)
For every action there is an equal reaction. :)

Househelp 13th month pay, bonuses and salary increase
« Reply #54 on: November 11, 2010, 02:25:20 pm »
Do you give your househelp 13th month pay and/or bonus? If you're giving just bonus, how much? How about salary increase? When do you give it? My staff is composed of 1 nanny who's been with us for 9.5 mos. and paid 6k/mo., 2 helpers who's been with us for 6.5 and 3.5 mos and paid 3.5k/mo. If I do give a bonus, do you think I should give the same amount to all?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hi sis,
ako kasi bonus pag christmas lang, pamasko ba...13th month does not apply naman sa kanila. kung magbibigay ka, i think it would be fair na same na lang sa lahat.

Hope this helps

13th month, I give all, pro-rata to no. of month service within the current year.

Bonus I give all, but the amount may be less or more than the monthly salary, depende of course sa perception ko of the quailty of service rendered.  :D

pano if bago pa lang, like less than 1 month, would you give them a bonus pa din? feeling ko kasi too early pa ang 1 month, but kawawa din naman if wala.

aside from this, meron din bang mga households na hindi nagbibigay ng bonus sa maids?

I give 13th month, either buo ng Dec 15 or half Nov. 30 / half Dec 15.

Pag less than a year, pro-rated.

Bonus, wala. We just give them gifts. Kasama lagi ang mga kasambahay naming magkakapatid sa pag-su-submit ng wishlist. From that wishlist, dun kami pumipili ng regalo for them, para hindi na mahirap mag-isip. Also, after Christmas, bakasyon na nila. New Year na ang balik nila.
