Hi sisses! I have two interviews this coming week for homebased online tutor. I want to get my own internet connection sana kase ang dami namin dito sa haus na gumagamit ng wifi. What can you recommend?

Pareho tayo, I'm planning to get related experience by teaching online. It may not be the same as traditional teaching, but at least it gives you a glimpse of the whole teaching experience. Not really sure though if online teaching experience is credited by local institutions. I've been browsing through vacancies at workabroad.ph and some international bodies still consider those applicants with online teaching experience; they give priority to those applicants who had prior experience in the traditional school setting though.

Have you heard of 51 Talk, guys? I have an interview later, and I hope everything goes well. Hindi ko na matiis ang night shift work ko kasi nagkakasakit na ako, kaya I'm planning to pursue this work from home opportunity.

Pano ba yun kelangan ng webcam for teaching, right? Kaya ayokong patusin kahit na gusto na nila kong magpasched sa interview. Currently sa RareJob ako, di pa required ang webcam hehe

Di ko lang alam ang rates ng 51Talk compared sa RareJob, pag mas mataas sa 150/hr go na ko sa 51 talk kahit me webcam required.

I had my interview last Saturday via Skype. Nung sinagot ko yung tawag ng interviewer, audio lang ang gamit ko pero sabi nya kailangan daw video, so ayun no choice kundi mag video call. Haha! I'll be on training on Thursday at dun ko malalaman ang rates and other details; I'll post about the details then. Pero based on their site, P15k to 50k daw ang pwedeng makuha per month. Well, we'll see!

^ aba sis mukhang malaki nga a sige update mo kami dito, fed up na kasi ako sa RareJob tagal ko na dun feeling ko need ko ng bagong working environment. Kaso medyo ingat lang ako kasi Chinese ata tuturuan sa 51talk? Medyo iba ata sila sa mga Japanese hehe. Thanks!

I've read sa other forum na you can really earn 50k sa 51talk if you are already a 5-star teacher. Their rate is P66/lesson and you need to work at least 10 hours a day. Pero if you're just starting, around 50pesos yata and that is 25minutes/lesson.

Nagapply ako sa Unhoop and got accepted, my training would be this march for 10days. So hopefully maging ok naman. Part time lang ako coz im still a student.

Pano naman rate sa Unhoop? Webcam based din yan diba?

Hindi naman required na 10hours pag part time. Sa unhoop same din, depende sayo kung kelan mo ioopen yung schedule mo. Webcam based din sya. Lahat yata ng homebased webcam based talaga.

Nope yung RareJob namin homebased din, no cam required as of this moment hehe.

mga sis who are into this teaching job, are you guys teachers by profession po? I want to try this kind of job online too but I'm not a teacher by profession, would that be possible? Where are you getting your teaching materials btw? May available ba online or you really have to buy books? Thanks

some we're not..like me po...been teaching for over 5 yrs na..haaayyyysss!some companies have their materials,if you want you may use other resources for office based it mus be approved by the mgt I guess...

thanks for the info sis , I love to try this teaching job too kasi, then I'm free during Sundays and Mondays so pwede ako. I just hope I could find a legit online English school soon
