Hi sissies! I have posted this also on the thread DOG: Health, Care and tricks thread, but i think it would be much appropriate here. 


Anyway, I have a new fur baby girl, and still 4months old and a chow-chow.    The last time I had her checked by her vet, which was last Wednesday(Oct9) she weighs 12kg na. She gained 2.5 kg in a span of 2 weeks time. Is it still normal na she weighs 12kg at 4months? I'm thinking that she might be overweight eh. But she's suuper cuute and cuddly and sweet!

My sister currently has two Chow Chows -- a black one (male) and a cinnamon one (female).   The girl is sexy and malambing, the boy is so heavigat parang sako ng bigas sa siksik.  Walang makatagal magbuhat sa kanya LOL

hello 1st time poster and chow owner here. just got my puppy last night, a 2 1/2 chow i named Kuma. he was sooo quiet in the car on the way home. kala ko magtatatahol buti hindi. also not so much fuss when we got home. i think nanibago lang sya because wala na yung mga dogs/puppies na kasama niya sa old home niya. yung pitbull na lang namin na maingay at nagwawala. good thing din na mejo potty trained sya kasi sa labas sila poopoo and wiwi sa dating owner niya. yun nga lang nag-wiwi siya sa kitchen namin. pero nung 2nd time he was about to last night nagpunta siya sa door namin so alam ko na na he was about to do something.

we prepared a sleeping area for him sa sala namin kaso he prefers to sleep sa tiles. mas malamig siguro. i didn't get him a crate pa kasi i was gonna check on his habits pa. okay naman siya except that he wakes up when i go to my room na. gusto niya ata may humihimas sa kanya which i did naman twice. pero later on hindi na ko lumabas uli. not sure if he woke up pa. wala namang tumahol.

pansin ko lang konting galaw niya inom siya agad ng water. ewan if naiinitan siya or ganun talaga. actually he went inside our CR nga at humilata dun. eh basa so pinalabas ko. sumunod naman. when my mom woke up at nag-CR gulat siya andun si Kuma sa gilid. im thinking of getting him a crate na tuloy para sa gabi may tutulugan siya na one place lang.

by the way, what brand of shampoo/soap do you use on your chows? hindi ko masyado gusto yung smell nung fur niya. hindi naman mabaho kaso baka may mas ok pa na smell. and do you let your chows drink milk? what brand? for now din Tiki Tiki palang vitamin niya since yun sabi ng owner dati. when do i switch to coat shine or lc vit? wala pa kasi yung vet malapit samin. naka-xmas break. ah and is it ok to give them puppy/dog treats na at 2 1/2 mos? what treats do you give them?

I recently talked to a chow owner here at Eastwood, and he said na baka daw mix breed ang bebe ko, I got offended although I know na hindi sya mix breed. She has papers and all. Nakaka asar lang na may mga taong nagmamarunong, and if ever na they have thoughts about somebody else's dog na hindi naman maganda pakinggan, they better keep it to themselves nalang sana, diba?

Ganyan di  ako before eh Sinabi cross breed daw chow ko kasi pointed daw nose ekek eh sinagot ni hubby na 2 types ang chow chow smooth and rough coat closed face and open face na tinatawag ng iba na lion and bear type, i know this kasi breeder kami and we have our kennel certificate to prove it =) mga nagmamarunong sis sila ang napapahiya hayaan mo na sila

^Same sis, sabi kasi daw medyo pointed daw and nose. Yep, hinayaan ko nalang sya. My bebe has certificates too din naman. Hahaha. Thanks sa reply sis!:)

Does anyone know a groomer na sanay sa chow chow dito sa bandang south? Parang kelangan ko na pagupitan alaga ko.

Hay nakakaloka sa kulit ang bagets. Nagpe-play bite din siya and nabiktima cousin ko. Ako din nadaplisan nya during one of his zoomies. Sakit sa bulsa tuloy. Pero most of the day naman he's calm. Pag gabi siya nagiging wild. Kulang ata sa exercise.

Tama ka sis. Di lahat ng chow chows closed face. Ang most noticeable trait ng chows are their blue-black tongue. If solid na blue-black tongue sya, most likely purebreed sya.

Does anyone know a reliable chow chow seller? We are looking for a new chow chow female and cream in color. Maraming kilala na chow chow sellers na quality ang pups pero di namin kaya yun price (around 30k-50k). Over na sa budget namin. Mga around 12k-20k lang sana.

Nakakaawa kasi yun baby boy namin. He looks so lonely whenever we leave the house for work. When we get back home, nandoon pa din sya sa same spot kung san sya namin last nakita and he greets us. Gusto namin sya bigyan ng girlfriend

I have a chowchow pup, turning 2 months palang siya this month. The seller was my friend, sabi niya okay daw yung Holistic dog food, any feedbacks sa Holistic? Also, iniisip ko kung anong okay na dog soap/shampoo para sa kanya. I've seen sa online shops na halos lahat sila nagooffer ng Aki organic soap saka Play Pets shampoo. Anyone tried those? Yung Aki soap kaya safe to use for puppies? Thanks!

Hi sis Ryohsse, we tried to feed our chows with Holistic before but they got hotspots maybe because of food allergy so we stopped giving them that and switched back to Royal Canin puppy. Up to now never na kami kami nagpalit ng dog food and we never had any problem with RC.

i feed my chow holistic dog food kasi yun ang pinakain din sa kanya ng breeder kaso nangangati siya so im not sure if it's attributable to holistic. i switched to acana for a while kaso mejo expensive siya and hindi easily available. i might try solid gold since it's a little cheaper than acana pero grain-free din ata. pero pansin ko mas malakas ang kain niya sa holistic.

Vitality ang pinapakain ko sa chow ko ngayon, sabi kasi nung kakilala ko na nagwowork sa pet shop ok raw yun, di smelly ang poops, so far okay naman.  i have one concern sissies, eto kasing chow ko masyadong hyper, one time nakita ko siya may bitbit na dead mice (yung parang natuyot na) tapos di ko sure kung kinain niya ba. super worried ako. may 1st dose na sya ng 5in1 na vaccine last week, included yung leptospira canidae ata, sabi ok na raw yun. pero worried pa rin ako, anyone with experience sa rats? papacheck ko din sya sa vet tomorrow.

Hi sis Holistic puppy din kami kay Wiam. Actually ang lakas nyang kumaen, pero minsan nagrerebelde un samen half lang kinakaen sa morning. Pagdating naming sa gabi kasi nagwowork kami parehas ni hubby kita naming may tira. Pero pagpinakaen ulit naku ilang kurap ubos na. sad yata sya kasi iniiwan lang sya sa kulungan. hay siguro mas maige kung 2 silang chows noh? bili dapat ng girl...
