What bible/Bible Version are you Reading?

There has been, as I review the answer raise such a slight question which version is better? well there are two ways of interpreting the Bible, the literal and dynamic way. Literal attempts to translate the books  using the english words closest to the original text. This is very important in preserving the true essence and meaning of the words. The downside is that its hard to read, sometimes sounds odd. But serious scholars would use the literal translation. The other way is the dynamic translation or which attempts to translate it using the modern context of language in this case english. Thus, the end product is more readable. The problem with this is that, some dynamic translations contain the personal theology of the translators by using the word closest to his belief, and thus sometimes change the original context.

I guess the issue lies more on the fact that if you are Catholic, you should be using one with the Deuterocanonical Books, which is absent in the Protestant version of the Bible.

The TRUTH however is, there is only ONE Bible... but there are many versions made...

I have the KJV, NIV and ESV sa phone ko, but mas sanay ako gumamit ng NIV.  Meron ding NASB dito sa house, but I only used it for a short while nung college.

NIV ako

Originally, there are only 66 books in the Bible. So anything na dumagdag or bumawas dun, is not the Bible. Ganun lang kasimple. Now, what version am I reading? Before, I am using NIV. Kaso may na-omit na isang verse dun, siguro dahil lang sa printing pero til now di pa narerevise. King James naman masyado malalim, at hindi napapanahon yung words na ginagamit dun. Siguro kung nasa era tayo nina Romeo and Juliet pwede pa, kaso hindi eh. Yung NLT naman at yung ibang "modern" translation nawawala na yung original meaning or translation, wala ka nang mapiga. So now, for me, best na siguro yung NASB. Nasa gitna lang sya, tama ang timpla, hehe. Pero if you need guidance sa pag interpret ng mga hindi natin maintindihan sa Bible, you will need a commentary. I suggest Wiersbe's commentary. Each verse may explanation. Mga sis, we should read and study the Bible. Kasi yun lang ang iniwan satin ni God para malaman kung ano will Niya. Andun lahat yun kailangang natin malaman. Pano ko nalaman? I've read it 2 times front to back.

KJV 1611 lang for me. Kahit isearch nyo comparisons ng lahat ng Bible,  KJV lang ang walang dinagdag at walang binawas. Hindi siya malalim, if you have the Holy Spirit in you.  I've rather have it malalim kesa mali mali. sa NIV, 1 John 5:7 Tinangal ang trinity ni God as the Father the Son And the Holy Ghost. KJV 1611 is Indeed the true Word of God.

as i have posted before, nagbabasa ako online. now, i have decided to actually buy one. para sa interested Catholics, mas mura sa St. Pauls (yung tinadahan na nakikita malls) half the price nung mga nasa national bookstore. bought New American Bible (Revised Edition), [NABRE]. very informative footnotes too.

ESV. Bought it in House of Praise in Galleria. Last piece na sya. Very informative and helpful on our devotion. This was our wedding bible and our 1st bible as a married couple. May mga illustrations pa for better understanding.

tanong ko lang mga sis, bakit magkaiba yung bilang ng books na ginagamit ng mga ibang Christian group na alam ko at sa mga Catholic (old and new testament? mas madami yung sa Catholic...

I used NIV, yung pinapamigay ng The Generic Pharmacy. we do bible studies so na ko compare ko yung mga words na ginagamit dun sa ibang bible at sa bible na ginagamit ko and almost the same naman.
