Hi evryone  i am a newbie and am in search for speech therapy and ot for my six year old mild asd son . we've been in therapy since he was 2. But recently we've been passed on to several teachers already and so far my son seems confused with all the change in teaching styles . i have heard of a therapy center called think kids(therapeutic intervention for kids) along tomas morato . does anyone have their contact number and location? Help please

Hi Sis, how's the facilities in Shine? Do they have their own room or just cubicles when they're having a therapy? My kid kasi gets easily distracted on her surroundings. TIA

yes they have cubicles only. The facilities are okay naman at hindi naman ganon kaingay kapag nasa loob na. Nakapag concentrate naman ang anak ko.

Hi there mommies,

I would like to ask help regarding OT and ST centers you can recommend at yun contact numbers nila na malapit sa place namin. We are now near SM Bicutan, Paranaque.  1 and 1/2 years pa lang kami dito. My son used to go to HELP in Makati before we moved here. 4 months sya dun then nag-stop kami.  My son was diagnosed when he was still 2 years and 8 months to have delayed language disorder by Dra. Eusebio.  Since medyo matagal din kami natigil, kaya we will start from scratch.  Before he was diagnosed, pina-BAER din siya pero normal naman.  I think big factor yun nag-aalaga sa kanya.  I used to work then, iwan siya yaya na bata pa at hindi naimik.  Until now nasa akin pa ang yaya na yun. Kaya when we moved here, nagresigned na din ako work para mas  matutukan ko siya.

For the past 1 and half year, my son improved naman. From crying almost the whole day to get what he wants kasi di nya ma-express, he can say a lot of words now and can express himself much better. Madami din nagsasabi before na kesyo ganyan talaga lalaki mas delayed ang development kesa girlsa  at kung [textspeak!]-ano pa. Kaya medyo napapaisip tuloy ako. Saka most of his cousins na lalaki ay somehow halos delayed din.  Kaya lang when you are a parent, syempre you want to give him the best. With the suggestion of my son's pulmonologist, ipa-chek ko daw uli.  Kaya we are planning again to have him assessed by dev.ped.  Naka-sked na kami with Dr. Rellosa this October.  What can you say about her? Wala ako makita masyado reviews about her. Masyado na malayo Dra.Eusebio and super tagal din pa-sked. I have other option, Dr.Malijan pero Jan 2014 pa. What do you think of her?

Right now, I'm searching speech and OT centers nearby para naman hindi madisrupt continuity ng therapy. Meron akong naka-usap Center for Ideas sa P.Tamo extension, puro UP grad daw dun 1800 assessment, 600/session. Me idea ba kayo? How about dito sa Paranaque area, me alam ba kayo?

Pinasok ko sya regular school for socialization din. He can recognize alphabet and can read long words letter per letter, he can count to 20, he knows his body parts at magaling sya sa computer games. Very accommodating naman at pinapabayaan na maka-adjust.  Nung una, he roams around the classroom, ngayon paminsan-minsan na lang pero nag-roam around pa din, nagparticipate sa mga singing activity, he sits with classmates na, hirap pa siya with writing.


Hope you can help me, tama ba ang mga ginagawa ko?

My son was supposedly scheduled September 9 with Dr. Ivy Rellosa but was moved earlier (yey!) August 19. Ok naman si Dr. Ivy. My son really liked her. He enjoyed the evaluation. My son was diagnosed with hyperactivity and compulsive behavior. He also has delay in fine motor.  She recommended ABLE Therapy Center in Makati. So far naka 3rd session na yung son ko with T. Steph, his OT. He likes T. Steph so much.

ABLE Therapy Center has its own room per therapy session. Maayos yung center and clean. Ok din facilities.

Mommies, ask ko lang regarding PR-Progress Report:
- how do you get this from your therapists? do they give it at a scheduled time (yearly, quarterly, 6mos)? or do you have to request for this?
- do you pay for your child's progress report or not?
- also if it's ok to include also the name of your child's center.

some gives it for free, some minimal charge
usually th therapist uses the letterheaf of the center

Have any of you mga mommies have policy of "retention" in therapy center(s) We will be unable to attend my kid's therapy for a month and when I informed them (center) I need to deposit 1,100php for one month for the slot para sure na meron pa kame pag balik namin, and it's non refundable.

.since you are leaving for a month, the slot which is reserved for your child's therapy will be in essence vacant,
and it will a "loss" for both clinic and therapist financially
 Normally, after several weeks of absence of a child, a clinic decks a therapist with a new student/patient, but since you want to go back naman.since it will be for a vacation lang, the therapist cannot get a new decking, hence, you want to "retain" that slot

The retention fee for our clinic is 250/ session missed so i think 1100 is a fair price for one month. Lugi din kasi yung clinic and therapist sa one hour a week na bakante yung slot when they can give it to another child in need of therapy, na aattend at magbabayad.

For those in the Manila area there's Speak Up Therapy Clinic. Very near sya sa Sta. Ana church so straight lang ng pedro gil. If from Mandaluyong, 1 jeep away from Lambingan bridge, Pure gold kalentong. If from Makati naman, it's also near Circuit/PRC, 1 tricycle away.
