pag sa speech theraphy ba ano gamit na mediumof teachings?..like english ba or tagalog?

what if sa bahay tagalog and kunting english sympre yun mga usual natin na ginagamit na english words ..tapos may chinese din kasi kami,yun mga byenan ko kasi chinese.ako more on tagalog and kunting english lang hehe...

btw wala naman na issue anak ko i mean yun autism clear na sya for this sabi ng ot teacher and st teacher nya both says 100% sure sila wala autism anak ko na delay lang daw..dati kasi pinacheck ko sya sa dev ped kasi napansin ko at that time 1.10year old pa lang sya hndi pa masyado nagsasalita  pina OT sya ng dev ped for safe side lang..and now na 2.8 na sya at barely 3 months sa ot and st ang laki improvement super daldal na yun nga lang gusto ko pa maenhance yun sentence structure nya kaya hndi ko pa sya pinupull out sa theraphy..balak ko tapusin na lang yun 6 months na OT and ST wala naman mawawala yun nga lang magastos hehe

sabi kasi byenan ko dapat daw sabihin ko speech theraphist ng anak ko more on english daw ang ituro sa theraphy para daw pag next yr,pumasok na sa regular school anak ko mas madali matuto since medium of teachings sa school di ba english..tama ba na ganun or sabihin ko na tagalog na lang dnin ang ituro nya sa speech?...thanks so much

Usually kasi, tinatanong ng mga SP kung ano ang gamit sa bahay. kasi kailangan matuloy yung home-program kung ano ang ginagawa sa SP therapy. So kung madalas tagalog, eto yung gagamitin ng SP.

Sa case ng brother ko, ganun ang ginawa ng SP nya. Mas magaling mag english brother ko pero jargon lang, pero ang vocab nya 80% english. pero he understands tagalog as well. since tagalog ang gamit sa bahay, tagalog ang ginamit ng SP nya.

Sa kid ko, sabi ko sa SP nya English. kami na lang ang mag a-adjust sa bahay para sa kid ko. so for the past year, English ang gamit ng SP nya. NGayon, natural na lumalabas yung tagalog na terms sa kanya, sya na ang nag sasabi. pero english pa din ang gamit nya.

After almost 2 months of waiting we got a slot in Therapy Works. Bale 1st meeting pala last thurs
so observation lang and interview with the Teacher. Next week pinapagdala ako ng food like rice and
ulam tsaka cookies. Gusto daw makita ni Teacher how my son chew his food. Looks young pa my sons
teacher pero mukhang mabait naman. Sana ok naman sya in terms of handling my son.

My 4 year old son nag OT at SPED sa Shine Intervention for 2 months already. Nakakatuwa kasi madami talagang nag improve.

Magagaling din ang teachers don.

My sons are going to start OT once a week at Healing Touch in Sikatuna Village, QC to address the lag in their fine motor skills development, particuarly the technique in holding a pencil and writing, and also their work behavior.  This is also in preparation for their entry to the big school two years from now.  Just being pro-active and following the recommendation of their developmental pedia.     Healing Touch has therapists from UP.  Kampante ako.

We also tried another therapy center at Marikina (Bright Beginnings) but I think Healing Touch will suit my sons' needs and provide a better fit for our family.

^Nakapunta na rin kami dyan sa Healing Touch; my daughter played dun sa play area/day care nila (I was looking for a day care center then).

For those still looking around, maraming therapy centers sa Sikatuna-Teachers-UP Village. There's CHIPS along Maginhawa, Cradle of Learners along Mayaman, Headway School for Giftedness along Matahimik.

Yes, I think so.  When my sons were 3, they could already speak in complete sentences.  Of course, iba-iba ang kids but based on your post, mukhang at par with a 1/ 1 1/2 year-old ang speech and language ng son mo.

Have him evaluated by a speech therapist or developmental pedia ASAP. 

In other aspects of his development, at par naman siya with his peers?  Meaning, sa speech lang talaga nahuli?

I have a 9yo son with mixed receptive-expressive language disorder. I noticed he is having difficulty coping up in school. He's already in 3rd grade and school works are starting to become complicated, more so, when he reach higher levels. He can only make simple sentences without reasoning. He was seen by a developmentalist in Phil Children's Hospital. The doctor recommended Thinkids for speech therapy and Worldlab for the reading. The assessment in Thinkids = P3000 and therapy session is P600/hr. The 3-4days assessment at Worldlab costs P5000 and the therapy session is P700/hr (minimum 15hrs). Too expensive and I haven't heard any feedbacks from these schools. Can you recommend tried and tested good teachers who could handle school-aged children? We're trying to catch up with lost years in my son's developmental years. Thanks ...

^ that is too expensive! a regular session costs anywhere from 500-700 depending on the center (and its facilities) Assessment, or rather, initial eval for speech and OT about 1000- 2500. The center i work for 1700 ang eval e.
Di kaya sis sa DevPed yun Thinkids? he or she should have asked you saan ang location mo and give you choices. May tie ups usually ang mga centers with doctors, but he or she should have given you options parin. just my 2 cents

I would advise din, on top of looking for good teachers, dapat as much as possible convenient ang location and time ng therapy sainyo. If the kids do not regularly attend sessions naman, di din mamaximize ang benefits ng therapy

mga sis nag open si teacher jerilee casas who pioneered PROMPT therapy in the Philippines ng center sa 5 tomas morato quezon city. It is called Therapeutic Intervention for kids. It is a new center.. I am so happy the way teacher jeri handled my son. From no words eh me mga words na ang anak ko in just 2 months of 2x a week na therapy..sa dati nyang speech therapist sinabihan sya na me apraxia dahil daw sa di maka imitate ng words..now nakakaimitate na..I am a believer of Prompt therapy..

Teacher jeri is a consultant ng St. luke's, she's US trained and me column sya sa smart parenting magazine..Magagaling ang therapists sa clinic nila..They are trained abroad for Prompt..It works.. Kahit malayo ang clinic nila sa men dahil taga bulacan ako tinatyaga ko talaga..Kahit mahal ang gasolina at toll fee...
