Google mo na lang sis, if you want to check the income tax in Austin. If you want to work, you'd have to find an employer who would be willing to file a working visa for you. Another option is if immigrant petition ang iffile sa husband mo, upon approval nun, immigrant status ka na din. You can then work.

hello mga sis may share lang ako sa inyo regarding sa license sa u.s, kahit na may license ka na pala ,hindi basta basta makakapag maneho ng sasakyan,  lalo na ang sasakyan na minamaneho nyo na hindi naka pangalan at naka insured sa inyo, kapag nagkaron ng aksidente hindi pala sasagutin ng insurance.,ingat lang mga sis..

^parang hindi naman. yun car and insurance namin nakapangalan pareho sa hubby ko kahit ako gumagamit nung isa. naka-list nga lang ako sa insurance as one of the drivers.

ganun ba sis pero ask nyo mabuti kung ano talaga policy nila, may mga insurance na kahit na may driver license ka na di ka pwede mag drive..kailangan dapat yung driver license kailangan may history ng 8 months up to 1 yr.saka ka palang pwede mag drive.

^baka kaya depende kung saan state? since nakuha ko license ko kasi mag-isa na ako nag-drive. same thing with my friend's teenage child.

^^based on experience, i was actually able to use my license in Manila for the 1st 3 months and then saka ako kumuha ng driver's license. I was able to drive immediately, tapos under my husband's name pa dn yung insurance. Naka-list lang din ako under sa insurance coverage nya. Were you pulled over and had problems with the insurance and your license?

I was just talking to a friend and I got surprised to what she said.
She said that in Cali, an illegal/overstaying  alien/immigrant couldnt be arrested not unless she/he did something wrong, is it true?

Say, If you went to the the U.S. and  give birth there  but you are not working and just staying home but you are overstaying then you couldnt get arrested ? ganon ba yun?

IMO, I was shocked when I heard that because all the while I thought being an illegal alien/immigrant o overstaying per se is already "doing something wrong", isnt it?

Why am I asking? because I might be wrong with my assumption and if I'm indeed wrong then its a new knowledge for me

Depende sa insurance and state siguro. Ako, I don't have a license yet, but I have learner's permit, I can drive any of my husband's vehicles or even my mother-in-law's car, as long as I'm with someone who have a valid license. We use Farm Bureau as insurance, and sabi ng agent namin, anyone can drive our cars, as long as the driver has the owner's permission and meron siyang license. Siguro depende kung ano included sa insurance mo, kung merong liability, comprehensive, or all in..

Overstaying/being an Illegal alien is a Federal crime, kung baga you committed a crime against the united states. However,  limited ang duty mga local police officers to arrest an illegal alien for just being an illegal alien, unless the said person commits a crime in that state. HOWEVER, he/she can be arrested by the state trooper or by the local police in a state where illegal immigration is a state crime, like Arizona. Or kung meron lang magsumbong sa kanya na citizen to the USCIS, that illegal alien can be arrested.

By the way, may reward kapag nakapagsumbong ng illegal alien. So if I was your friend, I'd be wary of fellow Filipinos. Mas marami atang nahuhuli sa ganung paraan. Mabubuking din sya sa Hospital na pupuntahan nya to give birth, dun pa lang malalaman na wala syang insurance at walang syang social security number = illegal alien.

I pity those americans who pay heavy taxes just for  these illegals to get medical benefits from the government- libre na hospital (kasi hindi magbabayad), citizen pa ang anak! boo.

Thanks Twentysomthing Gal - So I was right all along. We had a kinda long argument about that because pinaninindigan nya yung "law daw na alam nya."

And yeah its true, medyo hurting nga that we are paying our taxes and some people can just get away with it. Correct me if I'm wrong, meron atang isang law maker who said that the citizenship of a child should be based on his parents citizenship and not where he was born, which I think is more logical

im planning to get an international driving permit (PiDP) sa AAP sana, pero i read na some states dont require one naman and i can actually use the philippine non-pro driver's license.. tama ba?

^no need to get one hindi ko nagamit yung idp ko dito. kainis, sayang din yung 1500. AAP should know this, wag naman nilang perahan yung pupunta sa us kasi marami nang gastos sa immigration and all. ok na yung non-pro license pero hindi ako sure for how long pwedeng gamitin, sabi ng iba 30-90 days lang. get a driver's license pagdating mo sa u.s. after i took the written test, chineck nila yung lto license ko. naaliw pa sila sa dami raw ng security features ng license natin hehe.
