You can use your Phil. non-professional license to drive in the US, but not a student's license. Check your state DMV website for details.

The non pro is not the student license. The non pro is the regular green drivers license that is issued to most people in the Phils. The pro is for people driving as a profession/driving large or articulated vehicles.

^Madali lang sis. You have to apply for Learning permit first and then after the required months, you can take the Written and Driving Test.

^ saang state ka? sa california kasi, you have to take the written exam first then once you pass that, you get your permit and then once you're ready, you have to take the actual driving exam.

^^ depende. hmm, mas maganda siguro na isipin mo na mahirap pumasa para mag-practice ka nang sobra sobra. kasi ako sumasama loob ko thinking na madali lang mag-drive pero hindi ako makapasa-pasa. harhar. may kilala ako, 10 times na ata siyang nag-aactual exam, di pa din makapasa. although baliw na naman yun pero totoo, kabisado niya na yung handbook kasi ilang beses na siyang nag-written exam. harhar.

I forgot to mention that a written test is required before you get the learner's permit

@si_ako we are a family of 3 and usually nasa $3000-3500/month ang gastos namin. kasama lang dyan yun rent sa apartment, utility and phone bills, gas, car loan payment (2 brand new cars) and insurance, food. depende kung saan state ka kasi sa iba mas mataas ang cost of living sa iba naman mas mababa.

better kung may passport. kung domestic, pwede na birth certificate. are you travelling with dad? if not, better carry a notarized consent letter from the dad. para di isipin that you are not taking your child away from the daddy.

i_miss_sleep - domestic lang naman. hubby and my son are traveling by land, kami lang ng baby ang mag-plane pag mag-move in kami sa ibang state. kailangan pa pala ng notarized consent letter from my hubby. buti na lang nagtanong ako dito. thanks for the info.
