pasali po sa thread.i've been reading this thread since nung una pa [textspeak!] coz i have hyperthyroidism also. thanks to GT, dami kong nalaman abt this sickness na hindi maexplain totally ng mga naging endo ko. and lumakas din loob ko sa mga shinare ng mga sisses dito. thanks sa lahat ng ngshare ng infos.

been diagnosed since dec 08 kung di ko p naexperience [textspeak!] mga kakaiba, di p ko mgpapacheckup.

first, given tapazole as meds, then consulted another endo then given strumazole nman. first lab test ko, mataas ang t3 and t4 ko and mababa TSH. then after taking meds for 3 mos, ngimprove naman. my problem is, my endos always suggest RAI. which ayoko namang iundergo. takot [textspeak!] ako eh. i know and i believe na gagaling pa ako without taking RAI.

next step, consult another endo. a neighbor of mine kasi was given meds [textspeak!] for a year and nacure sya.

i was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism nung october 2002 pa. i only went to one doctor. she's still my endo until now. she never suggested RAI. sabi nya kasi madadala sa gamot. kahit sa tita kong my hypothyroidism, meds sya. ayaw ni dra. ng operation. gamot na binigay sakin, neomercazole. now, no symptoms at all, medyo matagal na din walang symptoms. pero i still have to do the blood tests, lalo na ngayon coz i'm preggo. just to monitor.

sis baby_lj - good for you and okay yung endo mo... puede ko ba malaman sino endo mo and sang hospital sya? kase takot na ako bumalik sa endo ko kase nga gusto nya na mag RAI na ako asap. thanks in advance.

endo ko: Dra. Ruby Go from Manila Doctors. Mondays & Fridays lang sya dun 9am-12nn. By appointment. Here's # ng MaDocs: 524-3011. If you do decide to see her, bring mo lahat ng tests na ginawa mo. Pero most likely pagawa nya ulit kasi mas prefer nya tests done in MaDocs also.

had another checkup last tues with another doctor and he gave me the same meds na ininom o, neomercazole. i really felt relieved after what he explained to me. he said close monitoring ang dapat. and once na magneutralize [textspeak!] thyroid levels, which they call u-thyroid, stop na daw ng meds then magpakuha daw ako ulit ng t4tsh after 6 months.
what a relief di ba. di pa naman ako worse na case so i'll definitely take this and hope for a positive result.

sis deepset07 - goodnews yan! sana magtuloy tuloy na paggaling mo..basta tuloy lang meds mo.

mga sis aside sa inderal (propanolol), ano pang beta-blockers or meds para sa palpitations ang binigay sa inyo? TIA

sis eissej - thanks. i do pray and hope na gumaling na tayong lahat sa sakit na ito. think positive, take time to relax and be happy. minsan kasi nakakalimutan ko na ang salitang "rest" eh,,hehe.

ganun din sinabi ni dra. dati. drink meds, & monitor. monthly pa nga ata yung blood tests ko eh. ft3, ft4, & tsh. tapos pababa ng pababa yung dosage na iniinom ko. yung 5mg ng neo, hinahalf ko pa. wala kasi mas mababa dun. when i no longer showed symptoms, ang utos sakin ni dra. pag nafifeel ko lang bumabalik yung saka ako uminom ulit. after nun every 6mos. na yung monitor.

neomercazole din med ng nanay ko.. 5mg 3x a day. kaso na-outofstock last month pa ata kaya natigil yung med niya.

ngayon sabi niya parang hyper na naman siya... pumapayat saka may palpitations. tapos nakakapa na naman niya yung bukol sa leeg niya. pero nag-RAI na yun 1989 pa.

confused nga ako e.

pang-hypo daw ba yung neomercazole?

hindi ko alam kung out of stock na ang neo. tagal ko ng hindi umiinom ng gamot

hyper din ako. typical symptoms, like palpitations & parang hot flashes noon pero tumaba ako, i don't know why.

ngayon wala na but i still fill a small bump on my neck. pero normal lahat ng tests ko.

600 consultation fee ni dra. yung sa tests, dunno kasi depende kung [textspeak!] papagawa nya. i'm also not sure kung mas mura sa CGH. either sa MaDocs or CGH ang gusto nya lab.

@sis baby_lj, thanks sa info... sa madocs lang po ba si dra o affiliated din siya sa cgh? pagkaalam ko mas murang hospital cgh, kaso mas mahal pa din labtests sa hospital kesa sa labas.

so ang neomercazole pang hyper?

hi...anybody here alam magkano [textspeak!] price ng methimazole? un kase reseta sa ken kc me grave's disease dw me.

.nag tapazole din me pero allergic ako kaya nagpalit ako ng meds..pati inderal na rin if you know the price range...[textspeak!] ba difference ng grave's disease sa hyper? kasi ako hyper daw tapos [textspeak!] diagnosis grave's disease...nag research me sa net, lalo lang akong nalito...and sabi ni dr. raboca if allergic pa rin ako sa methimazole, RAI na lang option ko kasi "toxic" daw ako kaya di puwede sa surgery.what does toxic means???.natatakot nga ako kasi parang di maganda mga reviews nung RAI eh...

methimazole po y nasa 30pesos yung 30mg yun din kasi nireseta sa kin before i switched to neomercazole. wala nga siya mabilhan sa mga drugstores even dito sa lugar namin. 1 drugstore lang ang meron. nalibot ko na ata lahat ng outlet ng mercury na malapit sa area ko. meron naman kaso a babang dosage lang, nasa 5mg [textspeak!]. eh i need 20mg a day. sa grave's disease ba yung me bulging of the eyes? try pa din paconsult sa iba. kasi yung doctor ko, sabi niya nacure naman yung patient niya dati na medyo lumuwa na ang mata. nga lang, di na ata nacocorrect yung eyes. for me ha, parang ang hirap makipagsapalaran sa RAI. kahit magmeds na lang ako ng matagal. ok lang.

sis lovelymom - tapdin (methimazole) 20mg costs 25 pesos, Inderal 40mg is 16.75 sa mercury...
grave's disease is the most common form/cause of hyperthyroidism. the thyroid gland is diffusely enlarged and patients usually complain of eye discomfort or bulging eyes in extreme cases.

sis satya - meds po ba for hyper yung sinasabi mo? kase sa tingin ko kaya tumataba pag nagstart na ng medications because anti thyroid medications are used to block the production of thyroid hormones which is essential for physical and mental growth and development..so this is the time that our metabolism slow down or become normal. unlike nung before magmeds, meron tayo excess or too much secretion of thyroid hormones (T3, T4) causing the body to speed up.

may 1 sis tayo dito na nasa more than 150pounds na sya before nasa 90lbs lang sya..nung nalaman ko naging conscious na ako sa food intake ko kase laki talaga agad ng nag gained kung weight...pero yung sis naten pinag xexenical naman sya ng endo nya so puede pa rin magpapayat...balitaan mo kame kung ano magiging result ng check up mo, sana wala lang yan kase ang hirap pag may thyroid problem eh...
