^ When did he get diagnosed with AR? His current symptoms point more to a viral infection rather than AR. As I mentioned in a previous post, AR does not present with fever.
I hope your baby gets better soon.

hello doc

fever was gone two days ago. he still suffers from colds and bad cough. grabe yong ubo niya doc before, ramdam ko na masakit sa dibdib niya umubo. then we tried ambroxol drops (mucolytic) at may pagbabago na sa pag ubo niya, hindi na ganon kasakit kasi umuubo siya pero hindi na umiiyak after. I still treat him by steaming him with hot water and salt. then giving him nasal drops also. ang bunga po ba ng ampalaya pwede ko din ba pakuluan at ipainom sa kanya? wala po kasing dahon ng ampalaya at oregano akong nakikita pa. also, is honey and lemon mixture advisable or not yet? thanks doc.

hi,may allergic rhinitis din ako since birth pa daw sabi ng mommy ko,,what they did was follow advise ng uncle kong doctor,,calamansi juice,,1 piece of calamansi in 1oz of safe water,every day,early morning sun exposure,bawal aso,pusa o kung anong hayop,iwas alikabok then if pausok plain nss lang ginagamit para hindi masanay katawan ko sa gamot,,we live in manila during those days so nakalakihan ko ng laging umiinom ng calamansi juice,,then gradeschool my ninang supplied me bottles of neozep kasi sipunin nga ako,then if papasok ako sa school para akong may sakit kasi naka mask ako...iwas usok daw,,,not untill ng magsuggest uncle ko na sa province me mag 1st year kahit pa pasok na me sa UST,so ayun for one year sa province hindi na me sipunin,untill pinabalik nanaman me ng manila,,rhinitis ulit ,balik calamansi and neozep again,,,,now sa mga anak ko ng nasa maynila kami laging allergic rhinitis diagnose,so i bought our own nebulizer and use only plain nss,,then vitamins ,zinc,vit c and calamansi again....never naging ashma,,,my husband decided na sa bulacan na bumili ng bahay,,paglipat namin malaking ginhawa sa mga bata kasi hindi na sila sinisipon,unless nahawa sila,pero very sedom naman

I also have this, and yung baby ko is 10 mos na now, parang almost every month my sipon sya.  sabi ni MIL na self declared expert (oh! please) lagi daw may HALAk si baby, yung yun term nya eh, yung parang my sound sa chest. last na check up namen, wala daw naman HALAk sabi ni pedia, nalalamigan lang daw.  pero worried ako baka mag lead ito sa allergic rhinitis.

My baby had bad colds  with slight fever and my doctor prescribed antibiotics + decongestant and antihisthamine. After 3 days hindi na siya fuzzy and he's super playful na ulit.

@dropdeadgorgeous:
Hindi pwedeng bigyan ng honey ang baby na less than 1 year of age since honey is poisonous to them (botulism).

@mariebiscuit:
Allergen avoidance is one of the key points in treating allergic rhinitis.

^ Piyenchin is actually a decongestant (naphazoline). Please ask your doctor first before using.

Payat tuloy cya dahil lagi may ubo at sipon.. Meron kayang cure dito? Sabi kasi pedia nya, seasonal rhinitis, so pwedeng sa weather din..

^ How old is your baby? Is her rhinitis is due to the changes in weather, then expect that she will have symptoms during the time the weather changes.
If it is due to allergic rhinitis, then, unfortunately, it is a life long disease. Symptoms will come and go depending on her exposure to offending allergens. It is important, though, to control symptoms of allergic rhinitis since it may lead to development of asthma later on.

Hi mommies, just want to ask your opinion. My 8 yr old son developed symptoms for allergic rhinitis for almost a year now. Ever since he stopped being active in sports napansin ko nag manifest ang symptoms. Should I bring him to a pedia or pedia allergologist na? Just last Dec. i brought him to a pedia due to severe cough and he was precsribed with montelukast, but after a while bumalik na naman yung ubo & sipon pag morning & evening.

^ If it has been going on for almost a year, then it would be best to bring him to an allergologist already since his quality of life may be getting affected.

^ Generic name of Allerkid is Cetirizine. Common side effects include sedation or drowsiness (but for babies and the elderly, pwedeng hyper-activity rather than sedation) and dryness of the mouth or other secretions. It is metabolized in the kidneys and is metabolized faster in children less than 6 years of age compared to adults kaya binibigay ito ng 2x a day sa kids compared to the once a day dosing for adults. Safety studies done in children 6 months to 2 years of age have shown that cetirizine can be given for a period of 18 months straight without any bad effects.

Dr. Mary Anne Castor - clinic at Casa Medica
Dr. Julie De Leon - clinics are at Cardinal Santos and at Don Santiago Bldg near PGH

Dr. Lara Aleta - clinic at St. Luke's
Dr. Cherie Cervantes - clinic at Asian Hospital

You can visit the PSAAI website for their clinic skeds.
