Allergic rhinitis?

leletmd..napansin ko na hindi na inuubo sa paggising yung anak ko..ok yung response ng body nya sa medication..ask ko lang noh, nabanggit mo kase yung tungkol sa aircon na baka mataas ang temp kaya sinisipon sila pagising...yung anak ko kase addict sa electric fan...nakatutok talaga sa kanya mga 1 meter ang layo...masama ba yun? tapos she wears sando lang at pajama sa gabi..thanks ulit!!

bjgem: having an electric fan in the room is not really bad, as long as hindi nakatutok ng husto sa kanya and the electric fan is properly and regularly cleaned. Better kung umiikot ang fan rather than nasa isang place nakatutok. Good to know she is responding to the meds.

tnx sis leletmd..yun nga ginagawa ko i spray muconase pag barado nose nya ayun nakakatulog na cya pag ganun gusto rin kasi nya nakatutok yung electricfan sa kanya eh. anyway wala naman kami history ng asthma or allergies sa family pero nagkaroon ng pneumonia baby ko when she was 6 months.

Although, use of antibiotics in the 1st year of life is a risk factor for the development of allergies, her nasal congestion may still be due to the cold air coming from the electric fan. Siguro, when she's sleeping na, pwede ng paikutin yung fan para di masyado barado nose nya.

i just have a question mga sis, i dont know kasi kung allergic rhinitis ba yung case ko..

before kasi almost every morning and sometimes at night walang tigil yung sneezing ko pero now all over the body naman yung itching..

any idea..

Heavensent: The sneezing may be a sign of allergic rhinitis, but the generalized body itchiness isn't part of AR.
Is it just itchiness? No rashes? Does it occur at a particular time of the day only or all through the day and night?

Ang sakit sa ulo ng sakit na to.  My son got AR n mild asthma. Last month inatake siya ng asthma and AR I spend 20k sa medicines on credit card hindi pa kasama yung ibang medicine na cash payment n PF ng dr and etc. grabe!  Naloloka na ako.  I brought my son to a pedia-pulmo ayun ang daming gamot tapos pinapatrack pa if what time siya umuubo and if it did not stop daw for 6weeks he would be given a puff na.  HaaY....

makikisali din.. parehas kami ni hubby na may AR. i used to have asthma when i was a kid, and nawala. pero nag ka asthma attack ako uli during my pregnancy with my eldest.

as expected, may AR din yung eldest ko. nag simula 'to ng pumasok sya sa preschool at 1.8yro. kapag paiba iba ang weather outdoor and aircon sa room. plus dust also triggers his AR.

recently, napansin ng pulmo-pedia nya na sunod sunod na ang AR nya na nag lelead to asthma. sinabi na tuloy ng pulmo-pedia kay hubby na posibleng mag maintenance na kami. before kasi allerkid then pag hindi nawala salbutamol then kapag meron pa din, yung steroids na...

natatakot tuloy si hubby for the maintenance... (side story, na misdiagnosed din ng 2 pedias yung case ng son ko before. 2 pedias diagnosed him with PC. but all pulmo pedia said na hindi PC. halos bumili na kami ng meds for his PC, worse kung napainom ko sya ng meds for PC. )

@leletmd - it usually occur in the afternoon or early morning, with rash as in malalaking rash.

im taking anti histamine kaso parang ang tagal mag effect..

Heavensent: It might be "urticaria", the medical term for wheals or hives. It has lots of causes, depending on whether it is acute (occurring < 6 weeks in duration) or chronic (>6 weeks and daily).
If it is occurring daily and anti-histamines have only temporary effects, then it's time to consult an allergologist to find out what is triggering the rashes and the itchiness and so that you would be properly guided re: treatment and allergen avoidance. The allergologist would also be able to treat your allergic rhinitis.

haaay my son has AR din, grabe this year almost every other month sinusumpong as in endless battle talaga with AR, to the point na pag grabe na eh nilalagnat na at nagiging respiratory infection na kasi sa ubo nauuwi, nag-maintenance na sya dati montelukast then pinatigil and now balik na naman haay pati yung spray sa nose baka ibalik na din. naawa na ako sa son ko pumapayat everytime lalagnatin

i have this pati my eldest son. from sept nag start na un attacks nya. buti na lang hindi inaatake ng hika.

meds nya right now nasonex & allerkid. sana nga un baby namen walang AR tho i feel magkakaroon kasi anjan un mga symptoms to watch for like halak or gurly chest, skin rashes & nasal congestion.

naka 40-50k na kami since atakihin si kuya ng AR starting Sept.

sis, how do you administer this to your baby? do you include it in the water? milk? fruits? food? do you give this at night or am?

3 kids ko may ar and asthma...maintenance nila seretide for the older kids and flixotide for the youngest 1yr 5mos...may nasonex din yung 2 malaki...suki kami ng pulmo pedia...kakapagod and kakaawa kids kasi lagi may ubo sipon.

my 1yr old son has allergic rhinitis, diagnosed when he was on his 7th month. his pedia just prescribed the following:

Iterax (antihistamine)
Mucosalvan - for the colds

and nasal spray if mag clogged nose sya.

The pedia told us that as long as the coughing is not interfering his activities, then there is no cause for alarm. accept na lang talaga namin na siponin baby namin coz its hereditary and he got it from me. plus we live in an area where madaming flower-bearing trees and usually if time na pag bloom ng flowers, nag a-attack talaga ang AR ng baby ko.

advise rin ng pedia na increase water intake nya.

Montelukast Na is best administered at night time because that is the time when leukotrienes are produced the most. It is a leukotriene receptor antagonist kasi.
The granules can be given directly to the mouth or it may be mixed with a teaspoonful of cold or room temp breastmilk, formula milk or mixed with apple sauce, carrots, rice or ice cream. It should not be mixed with any other liquid other than those mentioned.
Once mixed, it should be given within 15 minutes and not stored for further use.

sis okey lang ba talaga as maintenance yung allerkid sa bata na 1.5 ?kasi un baby ko dati pinaka allerkid sya for 3 months....tapos na 1.10 months na sya loratadine sya for 1 month...anyone had tried that loratadine safe ba sya??...hndi ba masa a yang antihistamine na yan..ano ba pinaka side efects senyo if anyone had tried..ako kasi as much as possible sana ayaw ko ng gamot ams gusto ko natural remedy lang,....i want to try vaporizer safe ba yun to use kahit almost everyday i mean hndi ba nakakahigh yun>?kasi di ba menthol like na amoy yun....tenks pow
