May allergic rhinitis daughter ko. Nitong nag 3y.o lang sya nagmanifest yang sneeze ng sneeze at parang nauubo na hindi sa pandinig ko may halak.  Pati yung milk pinapalitan ang problema ayaw nya nung pinalit

dami pwede manahin ito pa nakuha sa akin. Nagreresearch ako lagi ngayon tungkol dito.

My 3 month-old son was recently diagnosed with allergic rhinitis. Prior to this, I noticed na parating stuffy nose siya every early morning. He also kept on sneezing. We brought him to an allergologist/pediatric asthma specialist and it was confirmed na allergic rhinitis nga.

He was given Sterimar Sea Water Nasal Aspray (1 spray/nostril 2x a day) and also Allerkid (0.5ml before bedtime). So far, so good. These meds really relieve him. Tuloy-tuloy na tulog niya ngayon.

^sis, i also advise that you eliminate a lot of stuff in his room that can accumulate dust which can also cause his sneezing.

the soap to be used on his clothes mild & no fabric softener. saka when you put powder or perfume dapat malayo sa kanya.

yung baby ko din, nagpacheck up kami kast friday and her pedia said na meron siyang allergic rhinitis, kasi bahing siya ng bahing but wala naman sipon then every morning super coughing siya binigyan din siya ng med yung allerkid ang yung iba pa para medyo mawala yung plegm. but so far wala naman siyang halak and every morning lang talaga siya umuubo. same din sa mother sabi rin ni pedia namamana daw yun and it may cause to asthma na rin.

^yup kaya super ingat sis. my son's asthma manifested when he was about to turn four. now he will turn 7 na outgrew nya na. but still maingat pa rin ako & i always remind the yaya to be vigilant also

kaya nga eh, scary kasi kung magtuloy dun. mahirap pa naman pag magkaroon ng asthma ang mga babies. how to prevent ba ito?

For asthma/allergic rhinitis management, here's what the pedia-allergologist told us:

1.  Eliminate things which may accumulate dust (no stuffed toys, carpets and the like in the child's room).

2.  Change pillows and sheets often.  Wash these and clothes with mild detergent.  Iron clothes and sheets and pillowcases to kill dust mites and bacteria.

3.  Vacuum the mattress, sofa, rugs, curtains, etc. often.

4.  Use a Hepa filter if needed.

5.  Don't use baby powder.

6.  Avoid din na mapagod si baby nang husto since it might trigger an asthma attack.

7.  Do not smoke around the children or avoid letting your children near smokers.

8.  If you can avoid having the a/c turned on all day or overnight, do so.  The air does not circulate kasi pag naka a/c lang.  Or use a humidifier.

Yung daughter ko on and off ang ubo sipon. Mawawala lang siguro for 2days then balik nanaman. Her pedia already gave her montelukast/kastair to relief her symptoms pero ganun pa din. Nag-antibiotic na siya ulit, Pediamox and ubos na but she still have runny nose and cough. Sa allergic rhinitis ba may phlegm din? Parang ayaw ko na ibalik sa pedia kasi another gamot nanaman for sure.

^ Montelukast is given to those with asthma symptoms.  It's not a cure for the symptoms but a preventive measure to manage the symptoms.  You have to take Montelukast for quite some time para maging effective siya.

I have asthma and I have to take Montelukast before there is a change in weather pag January para hindi ako atakihin.  Same with my kids, their pedia-allergologist prescribed Montelukast and they took it for 3 months.  It worked for my kids so eventually, pina-stop din.

I don't understand why there should be an antibiotic prescribed for allergic rhinitis.

I'd advise you to consult an allergologist or asthma specialist for your peace of mind.

With asthma/allergic rhinitis kasi, may trial and error stage so you have to be patient for the meds to take effect.  Montelukast, especially, does not give immediate relief.

^I see, her pedia gave her montelukast for a week lang. Perhaps a trip to an asthma specialist would be best. Thank's sis!

^ I highly recommend that, sis.  You will not see the effect of Montelukast if it's taken for only a week.  It is not an antibiotic na makikita mo agad ang improvement sa condition ng patient in a matter of days.  Usually, you will see an improvement in 2 weeks and the doctor will then advise you to continue taking it for a longer period.  Pag wala pa ring improvement ang symptoms with Montelukast, the doctor will most likely ask you to take additional lab tests.

my daughter is having coughs at night pero no pleghm. pagdating ng 6pm ayan simula na ng cough spells pero during the day madalang yung cough. we've been to different pediatricians and she was given antihistamines but her condition did not improve. well, except for the benadryl which makes her sleepy kaya hindi na siya inuubo but I figured hindi naaddress yung root of the problem which is the cough itself.

eventually, we took her to an allergologist and she was given asthma meds. her condition improved naman but now that we experience weather changes, nagstart na naman her coughing spells i think this is called cough-variant asthma

daughter ko naman pag kagaling sa school may sipon siguro sa aircon din. Pag katapos din n'ya mag milk sa madaling araw umuubo din sya. Allergic rhinitis din ba 'yun?
Ok rin lang ba na maligo s'ya kahit 6 or 7pm na?

naku c Pau din when he was younger (<1 year old) he had allergic rhinitis, mana sa dad niya. he took Virlix, Alnix to alleviate the stuffy nose. tapos our pedia mentioned na this may also lead to Asthma (which hubby also has) kaya he was asked to take ZADEC for maintenance. noon, parang every month nagkakasipon siya for like 3 days..super kawawa. but after 1 year, hindi na masyado. seasonal na lang. we stopped Zadec narin.

Virlix din ako pero di recommended sa kin na itake everyday pag nagtrigger lang.. nakukuha ko siya pag nasa aircon, sa amoy ng newspaper.. Maintain niyo gamot ng kids niyo, mahirap tong sakit na to.. Wala pa kong child pero nahirapan kasi mother ko sa kin..    I have asthma before pero nung nawala when I was on 2nd grade na, allergy rhinitis naman pumalit nung nagdalaga na ko...

yung  daughter ko na ssneeze sya sa amoy ng mga papel, di naman maiwasan kc mahilig magbasa at magdrawing. pinag take siya ng pedia ng allerkid for 5 nights before going to bed, pero ngayon may stuffy nose pa rin siya, parang ngongo na nga magsalita. pag tulog siya ang lalim niya huminga parang nag ssnore, dinala naman siya ngayon sa ENT para ma check yung nose and throat niya.
siguro dapat nga may pang maintenance na ireseta ang pedia para sa allergy niya para di na mag lead sa asthma.

korek sis, ganun ako sa umaga madalas, pero nagssneeze ako.. pag may maamoy lang na kakaiba nagttrigger na...
