My 3y/o has singaw, tonsilitis ang swollen gums right now.  May kasama ding fever.  Nahihirapan siyang kumain.  I hope he gets better na.

sis teething gel pwede na singaw sobrang helpful. I use that even pag may singaw ako

sis if your son frequently gets tonsilitis,pacheck up mo sya..kase i had a friend on and off yung tonsilitis nya ayun malala na pala..worse yung naging effect sa kanya,..common daw yung disease na yun for men eh..basta check up mo na lang sis

Hi mga sis! Sori ngayon lang ako nakareply.  Thank God, my son is now okay.  Pumasok na sya sa school last Monday.  He was on a soft diet the entire time my singaw siya.  May nireseta ding parang paste for the gums and singaw.

son ko naman ngayon ang meron sipon and mild ubo.. gave him neobiotics last night para makatulong.. napansin ko lang na iba ang hirap ng ubo/sipon ni baby during the time na nag iipin sya.. yung sipon/ubo nya today was i think due to the bad weather here.. init lamig.. lakas ulan kahapon tapos today very humid... he still drinks his milk above his quota kaya sana wag bumagsak weight nya..

ako din..yung baby ko nagkasakit din since sunday..akala ko sore throat lang pero after 6 days di pa rin gumagaling so i brought her to pedia na, yun pala strep throat na..hayyy! so binigyan ng antibiotic. Kakainis talaga pag nagkasakit mga anak natin. Napapaiyak ako pag tumataas ang temp.

korek sis kakaiyak once tumaas yung temp ni baby or mag-iiyak sya sa sakit...kase hindi nya masabi sa atin eh!

ayan i'm so frustrated with my little girl right now. kasi may sipon and konting ubo na siya. so i have been telling her na huwag masyadong malikot kaso hindi nakikinig kaya ito ngayon, inubo ng inubo hangang ilabas yung kinain niya which is a sign ng hika niya. haaay. nakakaawa pero yun nga sobrang kulit kasi.

My youngest daughter has a terrible cough and colds. Nasa convention pa her doctor, pedia just gave her mucosolvan and virlix. I think she needs an antibiotic already because the medicines aren't helping her... She wasn't able to sleep well last night and her milk intake decreased already. Nakakaiyak na talaga.

^ Have you tried using a nebulizer?  It would help her breathe easier.  Use 1 vial of salbutamol (Ventolin or Asmalin brand).  Nebulize every 4-6 hours.

Hello to all mommies!

Actually im the husband of this account. Gusto ko lang humingi ng advice from you all kasi we have a 4-month old boy (exclusive breastfed) who got cold last sunday.

Nagkaroon siya mild fever which I beleive is a good thing kasi my baby's immune system is already working fighting the virus. One reading lang yun and after a warm bath nawala na agad and hindi na sya nagka fever up to now. Nagdevelop na rin yun ubo niya afterwards.

My wife di nakuntento dinala sa pedia and the pedia told her na nothing to worry and even yung fever nya is not alarming. Pero niresetahan siya ng loviscol and disudrin plus some antibiotic.

Now from my extensive research, di na kailangan painumin ng mga meds specially its a common cold lang, Considering exlcusively direct breastfed pa si baby. I've read na most cough and cold medicines are already being banned especially if they contain phenypropanolamine at ayaw ko painum sa baby ko.

My problem is, yung wife ko gustong ipa-inum yung mga  meds dahil nakakawa daw yung baby. I've been explaining to her na wala naman talagang gamot sa sipon. Ang gawin na lang namin is keep the baby's nose by suctioning the sipon para maginhawahan si baby. Tsaka yung breastfeed already contains anti-bodies para malabanan ni baby yung virus. Up to now wala pa ring tiwala ang wife ko sa wonders of breastmilk. Ako lang kasi nagpilit sa kanya na mag BF.

Now my mother, mother-in law and my sister pati nga pala yung kasamabhay namin thinks that im the devil here. Kasi pinahihirapan ko day yung baby ko.

Can you please direct me to a good pedia that will explain to my wife regarding common cold and cough in baby's. Pinagtutulungan na nila ako.

The US FDA (Federal Drug Agency) has already banned the use of cough and cold medicines for children. Most cough and colds are viral in nature and walang silbi ang antibiotic.
Also, it takes a while for the coughing to subside and the cold to clear up.
Ask your wife to do her research and not to give in to fear. In this day and age of the internet, wala ng excuse ang ignorance.

Maybe ang iniisip ng wife and inlaw mo is that wala namang mawawala if you give the medication. Just have them read the literature that comes with the medication and it will make you think twice, thrice before unnecessarily medicating your child. There is no drug that is not without risk.

@vipher - daddy, baka pwede po wag mo na paabutin ng next week yung dalaw nyo kay doc cricket? as of aug20 po, 5days na ang ubo nya di ba? if sa observation nyo ni wife, nawalan ng gana dumede si baby or putol-putol ang tulog, better na bring your baby to the doctor asap.. baka kasi lumala pa. wawa naman si baby.. 
maybe next time kung medyo diskumpyado ka sa advise ni pedia, ask for a second opinion agad para may definite actions na agad kayong gagawin for baby..
