^sis pwede na din ang honey for 1 year olds?
Infants up to one year of age should not be fed raw honey, as their immune systems are not yet developed enough to fend off this normally benign strain. Infection can cause a flaccid paralysis weakening the baby's muscles, causing a "floppy" baby. Other symptoms include constipation, lethargy, poor feeding, weak cry, droopy eyelids, expressionless face, drooling or swallowing difficulty, and occasionally, respiratory arrest. By the age of one year, most children develop enough to resist this normally benign strain of botulinum.

from http://homecooking.about.com/od/foodhealthinformation/a/honeyhealth.htm

Mas mabuti pa siguro yung sponge bath, wash cloth and warm water. Yan lang alam ko.

[textspeak!] ba ginagawa nyo pag may sinat si babay? i mean hindi naman 38 ang temp nya so no need to give tempra. she is still active and acts normal (walang masakit). mainit ang palad at paa nya and when you take her temp, its a bit higher than usual. mga +.3 to +.7 degrees celsius. normal kasi nya is 37.1 so naging 37.4 to 37.6.
Sis advise ng sister ko who is a doctor i-sponge bath mo lang daw basta  37.5 or less. Kung ayaw niya, fill a tub with warm water tapos half bath mo siya doon. Tapos pag 37.5 or up na then nanghihina siya give meds na. Lalo na may kasamang ubo at sipon

I give my son a teaspoon of honey or yung kutsara niya ang ginagamit ko. I give it to him before bedtime followed by water para ma wash out yung sugar. As much as possible use pure organic honey. Pwede mong ibigay sa kanya na puro talaga or mix it with warm water as his drink. I sometimes make a mild warm decaf tea for my son tapos I add lemon and honey to it.

Sis i-try mo muna in small amounts yung pagbibigay ng honey bago mo  damihan just to make sure your baby is not allegic.

When your baby is sick...(just want to share)
« Reply #192 on: February 27, 2010, 12:04:18 am »
Hi Mommies, I just want to share something...

This is how we normally "treat" our sick kids (eg. fever, cold, cough etc)...
Both of my parents are doctors and since they are doctors na spare kami sa part na maging panicky. hehe... And at some point natuto na rin siguro ako. I learned a lot from my mom and my other siblings who are doctors din. Since medyo matanda na mom ko..."beterano" na sya in all kinds of sickness.
Although it get to a point din naman na my mom and I argue on things especially about my kids...pero sino ba namang lola ang may gusto mapahamak ang apo, right? So anyway here are some ways I/we treat our kids according to my mom...

1. When kids have fever then mataas na hindi bumababa, pinapa CBC namin agad. Why? We don't know what may cause it. Lalo na kung walang sipon mga bata then all of a sudden lalagnatin...OMG! Mabuti na yung sure. Kase baka mamaya dengue, measles or kung ano pa yan...better malaman na agad para masolusyunan....then we always observe what will happen next. Binabantayan namin especially if ang platelets mababa or kahit within normal pero alanganin yung bilang...we normally take another CBC if may laganat pa rin after several days and observe condition ng mga anak.

But of course, it hurts me so much pag tinutusok sila kasi todo iyak...pero mabuti na yung sure kesa malagay sila sa alanganin na hindi naagapan kung ano man yung sakit... :(

2. My mom usually advises me na paninumin kids antibiotics right away. Again, some doctors nowadays wouldn't advise it...cause syempre my bad effect naman talaga ang antibiotics overdose...but we always make sure we dont give ng madalas...pero kung umuubo na we give na minsan para hindi daw bumaba sa lungs yung plema atg maging pneumonia na mas lalo mahirap gamutin.
And this i find it effective and good in a way, kase one time I read a blog na yung isang mommy nagworry sa anak nya about sa certain sakit na nakuha ng anak nya...syempre mommy sya worry sya talaga. :(

3. All my kids hindi kumpleto sa vaccines.

Why? According to doctors, 'sometimes' you could get polio thru swimming pools...pag nakainom sila tubig from the pool. I dont know yet how accurate but point here is hindi ngayon makikita ang epekto...pag lumaki na sila.

Since mahilig mag swim kids ko, I need this kaya pinalagyan ko sila.

Example ko na lang sarili ko. Im a big woman, but thankfully lahat ng deliveries ko lahat normal. Parang ganon...

Now anyway, these are some stuff we normally do to treat our sick children or handle situations like this. Dont get me wrong I still worry, syempre nanay din naman ako...pero ang point ko lang dito...it usually pays to research and ask your physician...

Thanks for your time in reading my post...
Feel free to comment...

plenty of fluids sis...plus drink ascorbic acid (3X a day). Kami ceelin gamit namin. Or painumin loviscol if mahirap na umubo bata :)

900 lang bili ko. and i also use the rhea solution for inhalation (P30). may warranty na 3 years sa kanila. let me know if wala ka mabili, i'll look around for it. very useful din sa baby ko yan.

Hi!  I'm new here.. I just bought a Kaz Vicks vaporizer a while ago sa Mercury.

Sis emeenem, ito din ba nabili mo?  Medyo nagd dalawang isip lang ako to use rhea solution kasi sabi sa manual Kaz inhalant medication lang ang pwedeng ilagay or may possibility na masira yung unit and mawala ang warranty.

Problem nga lang, parang wala yatang Kaz inhalant solution or even Vicks vapo steam dito sa Pinas :(  kaya first try ko kanina, nilagyan ko ng pinch of salt.  Lumuwag naman paghinga ng son ko.. However, I'd still go for some inhalant medication pa din sana..
