pewee, i agree with your contractor. Especially if you have pets like dogs and cats in the house... Or even small kids. Their noses are nearer to the floor, tables and counters where you'll use the chalk.

switblu, i used terro before when i had issues with ants. Yung ants kasi ng neighbor namin, from their garden nag crawl to ours. Effective naman sya pero siguro naka 2 or so boxes ako. Kasi nauubos at kinakain talaga nila.  I dont know if may expiry date yang terro. Can you check the box?

Make sure also that you put it where the ants are or dun sa trail nila mismo.

@switblububbles: Anong klase yung Terro na binili mo, yung liquid ba na nasa maliit na bottle (halos kasing size ng alcogel)?  Ganun kasi yung binili ko and that time that was the only variant ng Terro na available sa Metro Manila.  Sa US kasi maraming variants na available.  Effective naman siya, though it will take time, around 1 to 2 weeks depending on the number of ants and the source of the problem.  I put big fat drops of Terro dun sa path ng red ants para ma-eencounter kaagad nila yung substance and ma-eencourage sila to ingest it.  I kept the house clean and made sure na wala silang food na mahahakot, and after a week or so nawala din yung red ants.

On topic, ang problem ko naman dito yung mga bubwit. I already tried yung fly paper pero parang sa una lang nagwork. Yung mga natira parang alam na nila yung fly paper kaya ayaw na nila dumaan dun. Kainis.

^ try mo yung glueboard na may amoy cheese/peanuts. mabisa sya sa amin. di na nga effective flypaper.

Hi there...yung terro na biniliko yung ready to use packs na gugupitin nalang parang yung alcogel size nga...

nung una hindi naman pinapansin ng ants dinadaanan lang...pero nung natapon pinagkaguluhan nila...kaso naman nagdidive sila dun sal liquid so nadededs din sila... ang sabi kase bait sya para makarating sa queen yung poison...

buti nalang puro black ants ang nakikita ko ngayon kaso kinakagat si baby eh ang pula...

sis yung vakem nila. i tried searching them sa net last month and dun na lang ako bumili sa kanila kasi mas may discount kesa sa hardware. hehe
parang 500 somthng pero may discount bili ko sa knila e. 2 months na namin gngamit gamot nila until now meron pa din. sooo tipid

siguro sis try calling a professional. kasi mas alam nila yan. kesa mag do it on your own a. tapos lalala... try calling my contractor baka makadiscount ka rin nakita ko lang sila sa sulit. Pestmasters yung name. Hanapin ko yung number if you want.

screened windows are really useful as it let the air enters in the house and strains flies and insects. but there are times na hindi maiiwasan lalo na sa flies or mosquito. just always keep your door closed especially if you are cooking something, naaamoy kasi ng flies yun. Also, put away your garbage everyday. kasi mahirap palabasin or mawala ang flies sa loob ng bahay dahil nagsstay sila sa garbage natin.

How to get rid of ants? Kahit ano gawin namin ayaw nila kami tantanan 
We have already used pesticides, ant chalks etc. andyan pa din sila!

Try to find the reasons sis kung bakit sila nasa house niyo, maybe they're attracted to food that's easily available, baka attracted sila sa garbage can niyo, or baka may area sa house niyo na pwede nilang tirhan na hindi sila nadidisturb.  They prefer wood and if may areas yung house mo with crumbling masonry possible na pagbahayan nila yun.  It's possible din na lumipat sila sa house mo kasi ulan ng ulan lately, baka they're seeking drier/warmer shelter.  If ma-eliminate yung reasons kung bakit sila naaattract sa house niyo e it will help keep them away.

Anong klaseng ants ba sila, red ants ba or yung black, malalaki ba, medium-sized or maliliit?  Dati nagka-problem ako with medium-sized red ants, nadisturb yung tirahan nila tapos lumipat sila sa tinitirhan ko, dala-dala pa nila yung eggs nila.  Tinanggal ko yung food and basura sa bahay para hindi sila ma-encourage magstay and binubuhusan ko din yung area nila ng kumukulong tubig para mamatay sila pati eggs nila.  Pero since ang dami nila e hindi ko sila fully maexterminate.  Ginamitan ko na lang ng Terro para unti-unti e malason sila.  It took about 2 weeks before mawala sila.  Konting drops lang ang kailangan mo to get rid of them.  May maliit na bottle ng Terro, I bought mine sa Handyman, and naka-5 episodes na ng ant invasion sa house ko and house ng parents ko pero hindi ko pa rin nauubos yung 1 small bottle na yun.  I don't know if the variant available here in Manila will work on all types of ants, sa US kasi may specific variants ng Terro for fire ants, etc.  Pero it's worth a try, this might help solve your problem.
