Mexican Food

my husband and I had dinner earlier at Mexicali in ATC. i ordered the grilled steak chimichanga; the regular size was just right for me. it was perfectly fried, and i loved the refried beans and sour cream! hubby had the burrito-quesadilla combo platter and he loved those too. the service was excellent as well; the staff were attentive without hovering too much.  hubby and i agreed that it was the perfect pre-Valentines dinner (though OA sa dami ng tao sa ATC )

Love love Mexican food, when we have Mexican food cravings, we go to Mexicali. Huge servings, love the Chicken Enchilada and Ground Beef soft Tacos.

sis irene ...buti ok ang branch nila sa ATC...kasi nung ng dine ako sa MOA branch, hindi ako happy sa servings nila...this Friday nasa ATC ako sis hehe (OT: para mag The Spa na hahaha (addict talaga))

na try na namen ni hub...medyo so-so ang food...pero masarap ang chicken nila, kaso a bit drying lang, sana meron man lang silang soup...

^oo Diane, buti nga okay ang service at portion sizes sa ATC branch ng Mexicali e. nacompare ko lang bigla sa Tia Maria's Festi - parang laging harrassed ang mga service staff nila and hindi machika hehe. uyy spa day ka na naman sa Friday ah, kainggit! hehe enjoy!

a huge fan of mexican food. alas, i have never been to the US so my idea of mex is based on what they have in restos here like taco bell, mexicali, etc...

but i live in San Juan and i LOVE Ristras. A bit expensive yes, but oh so worth it. they're enchilada is good too, along with their burrito.

Just wondering though, having your burrito 'wet' ba makes a big difference? i find the 90 peso add-on for some sauce a bit too much.
Their hot sauce is awesome, too.

I even find Ristras better than some Mexican places in L.A. We still love the burritos at Ristras even when they're not "wet".
Ristras is my favorite Mexican place in Manila by far, but when I can't handle my craving anymore, I will settle for Taco Bell or Mexicali for a cheap, quick fix. Never mind authenticity.

Ate at ristras today. Grabe had a hard time finishing my half of the burrito. Ang laki talaga....

^it's really good for sharing. I say split it into 3 portions! hehe.

i'm a fan of ristras eh. ilang beses na kami pabalik balik, even just for the nachos and guacamole. so i would say masarap talaga sa ristras. what i like is that they don't scrimp on the meat. also, you can taste the herbs and spices that they use... hindi parang token lang or a marketing gimmick to justify the premium price.

^ ako parang di ko pa try chicken or beef.. cheese lang lagi. Yung fajita pala OK din, chicken na-try ko before.. nakakabusog! Feeling ko kasi, sobrnag heavy kainin mga Mexican food. Haha, selected veggies lang kinakain ko... dati talaga wala e!
