laruan ko dati is sa tahian, grade 1 pa lang marunong na kong mag high speed.  marunong ako magtahi, yet iba yung pag gawa ng damit, and pattern making!  iba ang skill ng dressmaker/ modista at ng mananahi.    i still use my knowledge though in my little business - related pa din sa tahi!  i know how to QC!

nabuksan ko na yung lumang sewing machine sa bahay ng hubby ko, walang gumagamit so might as well ako na lang. it's a singer 1247. sana mabilis ako matuto.

that's true. and it's weird that i find pattern making easier lols kapapanood ko sa nanay ko dati hehe

hindi ko na naipagpatuloy yung pag-aaral ko ng pattern making and sewing... im so info overloaded sa preparation sa pagdating ni baby...

^okay lang yan sis parang gusto ko din matuto magtahi ng cloth diapers hahaha. saan ba nakakabili ng PUL fabric? meron kaya sa divisoria?

marami talagang bilihan sa taytay tungkol sa sewing, isa sa major industry kasi yun dun. May malaking store Rose Mart yata yun, there you can find yung mga kung ano-anong accesories like buttons, zipper etc..  pati yung wooden ruler.  Sa tela, if you're a beginner and divisoria is too far from you sa taytay ka na lang din maghanap.  May mga por kilo dun, pwedeng pagpraktisan.

update ko lang. i am already in my third lesson ng basic sewing, at nakakatuwa kasi nakagawa ako ng pajama. lols ansaya saya pala pag nakita mong ang output eh wearable hahhaha

ongoing na rin yung skirt. para matuto din akong maglagay ng zipper.

in our class ako ang pinakamakulit. ako nga nangunguna,, ako naman ang madaming error. rip and sew ako hahhaha  pero pramis, ako ang expert sa zigzag at sa stitch hahhaha  maning-mani na. kakarip and sew.

ang tela hindi lang pala tela. then cut. may technique pala. pero share ko na lang next time

sis, nasa ibang bansa ako. and it's offered sa community center. i checked sa pinas dati, ang mahal ng tuition.

^^ true yan sis,.. pero mukhang ayaw ata saakin?? or just lack of knowledge and equipment??
kasi ng sew ako ng damit ko (wala lang,, just to try) but the reason was not satisfiying... may part kasi na may maluwag sa dapat masikip and via versa...
i have lots of ideas for design na bagay saakin.. hindi ko lang magawa gawin... hehe..

does any one know where i can take classes???

^sis try to back read... marami sila suggestions kung saan pwede mag-aral...

tska don't be hard on your self, you really won't get it right/perfect the first time. Talagang practise practise.

i really want to learn... i love outfit and fashion so much.. that i want to wear my own made clothes... i am good making other things like bags, pillows and even hand made toy... but clothes is another issue... :-D

Sabi din ito sa home ec class ko, sis. Pero nalilito ako, sa Project Runway sabi "but on a bias" daw for a more flowing fabric.

True. If you cut on the bias, Mas flowy kasi that's where the stretch is. Pero pramis, they cut it parallel to the selvage.

2 kasi ang measurement ng tela. Isang Mas maliit at isang Mas malaki. Still, if you don't cut it parallel to the selvage tatabingi yung gagawin mo after a few washes.

Cutting parallel to the selvage is very important when you're making pants, or the kinds. Unless you intentionally cut it the other way.
