mga sis, sa ilaya ba talaga kumpleto ang fabric?  iba iba kasi need ko for my project and i do not even know what they are called.  but once nakita ko, alam ko na yun yung mga kailangan ko.

i need something felt-like.  parang pranela, close to that effect.
i need also a terry cloth, yung parang super-fine na face towel.
i might need din mga fillers to make my project a bit cushioned.  super nipis lang actually. yung gamit sa hotel slippers, ganun.
and lastly, yung swelas ng hotel slippers kailangan ko din.


san kaya makakabuy nitong mga ito?

sis sa ilaya kumpleto naman dun,dame stores dun,basta matyaga ka lang mag ikot =) pasikot sikot kase yun eh..

Question pala mga sis, may alam ba kayo centers kung saan pwede mag-aral ng sewing, kahit yong basic lang muna saka mura lang fee?

same here, i want to know saan ba pwede mag-aral ng sewing.  i believe ito muna kasi ang dapat matutunan before pattern making, design, etc.

i hope there is one near my place.  im from fairview.

Hi sis! i saw rotary cutters (olfa brand and some lower priced ones) sa megamall. yung craft store beside toy kingdom. i forgot the name pero around 400 pesos yata. yungf mga self healing mats ko, i purchased from national bookstore.

Hi guys, I just finished my dressmaking course in TESDA Women's Center.  I am now starting my own business as a dressmaker but my problem is i can't find the perfect tools I need. like L-square and french curve. nag ikot nako sa divisoria ang all i can find is yung parang mga aluminun na hindi magandang klase. I;m looking for the too;s sana na ginagamit din namin sa tesda. May alam ba kayo kung san makakabili dito? lahat kasi yata ng gamit sa tesda sponsored ng japan so im not sure if meron dito pero baka may alam kayo.

i tried to buy this one online for 23.40 uk pounds thru sewessentials.co.uk but i never received the item after 3months of waiting, good thing they refunded. sayang lang coz i think this is the perfect dressmaker's tool.

^^hi sis, sa divisoria nga mga aluminum,hindi pantay pati L-square.. pero yan nalang ginamit ko,mura lang naman, tried looking for it sa kamuning market, wala din. Pag nakahanap ka,let me know ha =)

When you apply sis you just need your ID I think. Then they will have you take the evaluation and assessment and finally an interview, if not on the same day, they will give you a schedule for the exam. In my case I had 2 schedules pa. when I went there to apply, na-schedule yung assessment after a week pa then yung evaluation exam the next day after the assessment. inconvenient for me coz that time we still live in Antipolo and TWC is in Taguig. Nag apply nako coz that time we were to move naman to Taguig ng April. I applied in Feb 2010 by the way.

Yung initial exam nila is just to test kung compatible ka sa gusto mong course (dressmaking, commercial cooking, food and beverages, consumer electronics, welding, automotive, etc.), no pass or fail for that. after that papa take na ng computerized exam...parang NSAT, hehe. pero madali lang naman. if you pass all the tests that's the time they would require you to submit high school diploma, 1x1 pic and medical exam (your expense) so you can enroll.

After enrolling you'd have to wait for the availability na. Yung sakin, I enrolled in Feb 17 I think and got a call only in May. So I had 3 months waiting. Yung pinakamatagal na naghintay samin was 10 months. So depends kung kailan gagraduate yung previous batch and kung ilan pa ang nasa waiting list. Yun lang ang hassle pero everything is free naman even the materials na ginagamit nyo and I assure you you'll be competetive enough after you graduate.

sinabi mo pa, yun ang ayaw ko dun sa mga aluminum, hindi sya pantay. meron akong nabili na L-square sa may Sergon mktg sa tapat ng cluster bldg where I bought my sewing machine. made of plastic and ok naman sya bought it for P280 yata kaya lang hanggang 30in lang yung longest side the 10 sa short side. unlike yung gamit namin sa tedsda na 60inches. dyahe lang coz when i make a pattern for a long skirt or blouse paputol putol pa pag sukat. yung french curve nga temporarily ni-trace ko muna sa illustration board yung french curve namin sa TESDA tapos ni-cut ko, hehe.

I asked my ex husband who is a japanese to buy me one from japan. he saw the same one nasa P2,500 nga lang sya. kumusta naman. I just asked him to buy it for me as a xmas gift, hehe. still waiting. sabi nya when you order online and from ibang bansa normally inaabot ng 2months coz it still has to go through customs, etc. Actually sya nga nag order nung shoben fashion curve for me as a gift sa sewessentials.com coz he's the one who has a credit card kaya lang nga hindi nakarating.
try ko din magtanong sa FIP sis. kasi may nakapagsabi sakin na classmate ko na may binebenta na tools dun sa fashion institute, hindi ko lang alam if they sell it kahit sa hindi nila estudyante.

done backreading.. ako din gusto ko matuto magtahi using a sewing machine. gusto ko bumili ng portable lang, pero yung nasa budget naman. reading from comments here, mas ok ata ang bakal kesa may plastic. saw one from multiply (http://manilasewing.multiply.com), parang gusto ko kaso parang i am also considering a 2nd hand na lang from pier. marunong na akong manahi sa kamay, but i would want to make more stuff on my own.
