i want to learn how to sew..!!! and make my own dress or someone lese's dresses

bought my machine sa pier, sa manila part. Sinamahan lang ako ng mom ko, mga portable machines na affordable. may brother na brand, madame pang stitches. Super fulfilling kase pag nakatapos ka ng piece of clothing, tapos may makakapansin sa damit mo, then you'll just say 'ako gumawa niyan " and then super matutuwa sila. hihi

@isha- where do you buy patterns? do you buy online or you have books or stuff?

I have no patterns, tinuruan lang ako ng relative ng boyfie ko, yung mga right measurements, yung mga materials. Pero I saw a magazine, sa national bookstore japanese nga lang,pero may patterns, mahirap lang intindihin.hihi so hindi ko din nagamit. Also may sites na may free downloadable patterns. Yay! I've always wanted to learn how to sew! Nagumpisa kasi yan na marami akong clothes na gusto kong i-alter pero natatakot lang akong galawin baka pumanget lalo. I've only done simple alters like changing a shirt into a tank or turning a skirt into a blouse. Now I want to make clothes from scratch.  Ang dami kong gustong gayahin na design!

I recently found a copy of Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing in a book sale. Very detailed siya. Di ko pa lang talaga naupuan at basahin. I want to get my own machine rin soon.

1,300 lang ata sis,forgot na e..maliit lang kase kaya mura,pero yung mga malalaki ng sewing machines, abot ng 2-6k..

Hi peeps. This is the cowboy shirt I made for my daughter's school program. Plaid is a bit difficult to work with because of the extra effort needed in aligning the pattern (which can be remedied by folding the fabric then cutting both pieces), but what made this extra difficult for me was the very limited fabric I had to use---it was actually a long skirt she used for another school program. **The pockets are sooo misaligned and so very embarrassing.**  But I'm happy overall.

^^ That is soooo nice! wow! ang galing mo naman =) at malinis yung pagkakagawa and all.. wow, wish i could make one too,kaso mabusisi ata? Do you have a pattern for that? di pako kase marunong gumawa ng may sleeves,parang complicated.. sis, nice work!

Btw, saan ako makakabili ng tela aside sa SM? Ilaya masyado pang malayo. Id like to make novice level projects muna para masanay at maforce matuto

I have no pattern---I just used another shirt as a pattern and I added the details such as yoke and pockets myself. Yung sleeves, madali lang. Dun ako nahirapan sa yoke.

Naku sis, di ko kabisado =( 1st time ko pumunta dun,nag LRT kame, tapos nag jeep..the 2nd time, may transpo na..try ko i ask ulit mom ko =)

mga sis, sa ilaya ba talaga kumpleto ang fabric?  iba iba kasi need ko for my project and i do not even know what they are called.  but once nakita ko, alam ko na yun yung mga kailangan ko.

i need something felt-like.  parang pranela, close to that effect.
i need also a terry cloth, yung parang super-fine na face towel.
i might need din mga fillers to make my project a bit cushioned.  super nipis lang actually. yung gamit sa hotel slippers, ganun.
and lastly, yung swelas ng hotel slippers kailangan ko din.

^Mushu, yung rotary cutter meron sa Office Warehouse or National. Yung pinking scissors, been looking for a dependable one for a long time na, wala pa rin akong mabiling matino.

Hi sis! I dont know the stall's name, basta unahan yun.. pero i know someone who's selling portable sewing machines, yung repair man na gumawa ng machine ko, inalok akong singer na portable, kaso wala pang budget.. PM me for the number sis if you are interested. =)
