hi mga sis...share ko lang,sa pagkakaalam ko kasi ngayon may program ang govt.mga free training like dressmaking,driving,culinary,welding...etc.. dito kasi samin sa Pasay sa public high school yung venue free sya yung project mo lang ang gagastusan mo every Saturday ang pasok di ko lang sure ilan hours then 6 months and may certification pag natapos mo,balak ko mag dressmaking kaso tanghali naman ako nagigising kaya hanggang ngayon di pako nakakapag start. gusto ko talaga matuto manahi kahit takot ako sa karayom.

I watched my mom when she's sewing,and I learned from that. Kaya ngayon, whenever I'm sewing and my little girl is pestering me with questions tungkol sa pananahi, I try to be patient.

Sis, similar designs lang. Although kung meron nung designs na yun in oilcloth, why not?

pahapyaw, i learned it from school home eco subj (elective) and then minor assistance ng nanay sa old singer machine. now, i have my own, pahapyaw pa rin  kasi yung mga bagong models ang daming stitiches na available. normal stitch and zigzag lang ang alam ko pa.

these days, when you buy one there's a free very basic sewing class just to teach you the complications of the adjustments and technical hows of the machine. on my own scared pa ako to explore kasi baka masira. what motivated me to buy one kasi tawag ng pangangailangan. simpleng tastas, go na ako sa sewer and then P30-50 agad. before, pag may konting tastas, pamigay agad. nakakahinayang these days to give-away for a simple tastas.

only recently i found out it was indeed fun. heheh! naka gawa na ako ng 2 pajamas. pattern was based from my worn-out one.

natawa naman ako sa sarili ko. isa lang ang tanong mo, ang dami ko ng sinabi.  kasi excited lagi ako sa sewing. gusto ko gawa ng mga pouches for my crystals.

tamang-tama etong thread na ko. i plan to buy a sewing machine next month.
i learned from my mom. subcontractor sya dati ng mga baby dresses at school uniforms.
nanghihinayang ako tuwing bumibili ng mga pillows at fitted sheet. pati curtains. and now, crib beddings. i know i can make them myself.
i'm going back to sewing!

Mga sis, please give me some ideas on what to consider in choosing a sewing machine? Mga curtains, beddings, pillow cases ang gusto ko gawin for our new home Gusto ko sana sewing machine yung portable lang, para save sa space.

Kung curtains and linens, you can use a simple sewing machine like Brother XL-5500. It has 15 stitches, of which you only need one or two kinds (zigzag and straight). It's around 6K sa Automatic Center. Yes, portable ito, pero walang cover a la Jenny Humphrey's sewing machine.

right now,i'm channeling martha stewart at nanahi ako ng mantel. it's been months since i last used my sewing machine.nawala pa yung manual kaya it took me an hour para maglagay ng thread sa bobbins..

nakakaaliw,next project: curtains

btw i'm using my portable singer sewing machine with 10 stitches.

sis sunshine, XL5500...you got it for only 6K+? wow! cheap mo siya nakuha. kasi ang alam kong 6K+ yung LS2125.

i got my XL5500 for a cheaper price than the mall's kasi i have a friend who used to work for brother.

I got a BM2600, which is 9.1K yata. Yung XL5500 ang una kong ni-consider buying, pero my hubby said na bibili na rin lang daw ako, bumili na ako ng maraming stitches. I just know the stores' price difference kasi a friend of mine bought the XL5500 sa SM.

^ actually, yan din yun gusto ko sana kaya lang for a starter parang nakaka overwhelm pag aralan. feeling ko mahihilo ako sa dami ng switches at stitches. btw, have you attended the free basic sewing class? i am looking forward to this kaya lang no time yet to travel to the fort. basta puro kapa lang muna ako esp with the feeds. gusto ko ma try yung zipper feed. na try mo na ba? kasi parang ang hirap or takot lang ako. hehe!

Di pa nga eh. Di ko pa fully maximized yugn mga features nya. Maski nga buttonholing, di ko pa na-try. Mas sanay kasi ako ng hand buttonholing. Gusto mong sabay tayo? Pag free ka na. Pero huwag this August.

Yung totally walang ulo? Dunno. Ang alam ko lang yung may ulo na maliit. Meron nun sa National Bookstore or dun sa Daiso---yung Japanese store na fixed ang price sa 66 at 88.

may expiration ba yung free lesson from the time you buy the machine? kung wala, siguro by november ok na ang sked. pero this is hoping na naka enroll na ako sa sewing class by october.

di ko na ma-contact yung friend ko sa brothers. nag abroad na ang mokong. sige, kontakin ko siya thru email na lang to answer my question.

Wow,nakakainspire naman magbasa dito,actually I already have my brother portable sewing machine pagbinabasa ko yong manual parang and dali lang pero but when I tried it,ayon medyo mahirap din pala. Sana makapag attend ako ng class sometime on my vacation. Nakakaexcite

^^ sister, inquire ka sa mga public schools. meron daw ino-offer ang evening class for vocational courses. ako rin sana gusto ko mag enroll. nag inquire ako sa samson tech, everyday (day) classes for 6 months. parang...sandali! hindi kaya ako hingalin. pero try ko pa rin kung carry sa sked ko.

sa isang public school naman, evening 6-9, 6 months din. start na yata ang enrollment kasi normally daw oct and apr ang admission/start. try ko sa tues mag inquire uli.

@ sis sunshine, na realize ko parang nalito rin ako sa statement sa post ko before this. kasi gusto ko muna mag enrol sa isang sewing class para pag nag basic ako sa "technicalities" ng brother sewing class, alam ko na ang mga dapat tanong ko sa kanila. ayokong may ma miss kasi takot ako sa kalikot. heheh! kaya plano ko by nov since oct daw ang sewing classes. good luck sa akin. sana matagalan ko ang sked.
