we will be having our civil wedding this Oct 29 (hopefully!), depende kasi if papayag si Mayor. hehe. kilala kasi siya ni MIL, so sana mapakiusapan talaga kasi the wedding will fall on a Saturday. we already reserved Palms Country Club as our reception venue and buti na lang we'll be given the discounted per person rate. once again, thank you kay MIL kasi kilala niya ulit. kaya hands-on talaga si MIL sa wedding namin ni hubby to be, which is am very thankful talaga.

kaya ngayon nagdedecide pa lang kami ng possible program. at first, plan kasi namin ceremony tapos kain lang. tapos na! pero when we saw the place na nakaset-up, we were like naku! civil wedding ba talaga ang atin, kasi mukhang need namin mag-program to maximize yung ganda ng place. :) kaya backread...

I'll be wearing a dress OR pag tinopak ako, just a dress shirt and a jeans and my manolo's  ;D
My fiance: the usual dress pants, dress shirt (sabi ko sa kanya i-roll up nya sleeves nya lols), and a tie.

Mga sampu lang yata kaming katao sa civil wedding namin excluding the officiating person. (My idea is not very unique--it's rush LOLs)

20k ang venue tapos [textspeak!] food eh, 390 per head, minimum of 100 pax, so all in all for the food and venue lang eh 59k na. pastor ang nag kasal sa amin. 5k ang bayad dun pag sa venue nyo dadalhin at pag sa judge eh 8k ang singilan. sa cater naman, included na sa package nila ang dove, cake, wine, smoke effects para sa entrance ng bride. uniformed and well trained na waiters. if you like, send kita ng some picture ng kasal ko na makikita mo ang venue.... :)

Hi sis! regarding water nymph, maganda ba [textspeak!]? anong malapit na church dito? I'm getting married dn pero church wedding na and mukhang maganda [textspeak!] water nymph for reception.

It is not necessary.  But you have to get the marriage license from where you're a resident. Either your place or his.

hi, my bf an i are getting married on december in his province. civil wedding lang, relatives and super close friends lang mga 30-50 pax lang. gagawin ata sa farm ng relative nila. paano ba ang magandang set-up at gagawing romantic at papagandahin ang lugar na hindi masyado magastos. okay lang ba na mag demand ako for my wedding since yung side nya gagastos ang mag aasikaso dun since taga dun sila? thanks po.

hi mga sis! share ko lang po..

at last! I got married na po last Dec 08, 2011. Ok yung flow ng buong event, a special day full of joy and laughter talaga. Our marriage was officiated by the City Mayor of Navotas, wala kaming kasabay, kami lang ang naka-book for wedding that day, our reception was held at a floating restaurant in Malabon. Mga closest and immediate family members and sponsors lang ang kasama namin sa City Hall. I was wearing a vintage inspired dress (above the knee! at lace lang ang likod..hahaha) :) may bouquet pa nga ako eh! hehe and hubby was wearing a white longsleeve and a dark gray slacks..we invited around 100 guests pero almost 70 ang yung naka-attend kasi weekday sya at may pasok yung iba..from invitation to tags were all personalized..kami lahat nagprint, nagdesign, nag-cut, nag ayos..lahat as in, so it's really a DIY wedding.. ;)

Details:
Invitation -  DIY :)
Souvenir - A square tin can with brownies and butterscotch (inside) tied with a white ribbon, yung tag namin may "pick up line" hehe wala kasi kaming maisip na wordings ni hubby so why not put a cheesy pick up line on a tag and a simple "thank you" with our names.

Bride's Dress - pinatahi lang po sa aming ever loyal na modista ;)
Groom's Attire - binili sa sm :) hehe

It really was a perfect day for us..grabe speechless na ko nung araw na yun, kasi everything was really perfect, and sobrang happy nung moment kasi we shared it our family and really closest and trusted friends.. :)

hi!
base on our experience, ang reqs po na pinapasa samin ay [textspeak!] from NSO, di na kami kumuha ng cenomar, yun ang [textspeak!] tska parents advise kasi 24 pa lang ako nung time na nag apply kami for marriage license. Yung sa sponsors at least 1 pair kasi they will stand as witness na rin, pero in our case 4 pairs of sponsors yung kinuha namin, yung sa dress ok lang naman if you want to wear a gown, it's up to you..samin kasi nagpatahi lang ako ng white dress, yung program sa reception na yun, choice nyo na if you want a small program or kainan lang depende sa usapan ninyo :)

for you to have a civil wedding, you must pass all the requirements to get a MARRIAGE LICENSE. sa amin, we passed Birth Cert and CENOMAR, technically dapat may seminar pa yun and you have to wait for 10 days before the LICENSE can be released at saka ka pa lang makakapaschedule ng Wedding. pero sa amin wala ng seminar but we waited for the 10 days kasi gusto ko lang na maayos yung process. yes, kailangan ng ninong and ninang to stand as witnesses. i think 2 pairs to dapat kasi 2 pairs and slot sa wedding certificate na pipirma. no need for program and no need for gown, if sa city hall gagawin. if sa labas naman ikaw na ang bahala dun  ;D

Hi sis! Thanks for this information! :)

He is a foreign national and he's been divorced for several years already and he has the papers stating that previous marriage (which lasted only 3 months) was already dissolved. I have wanted to have a church wedding but they told me that church wedding is not possible with a divorced man instead a civil wedding will be the appropriate one that's why I was wondering if it is possible to have two civil weddings since ang first one is wala talaga preparation kaya I wanted to have another civil wedding next year same date since church wedding is not possible daw so I could invite friends, families and relatives.

Hi Sis!

Not sure if you got your answer already... but I'm pretty sure that for as long as its your foreign national spouse who was previously married (and then divorced), you both can get married in a Philippine church.

Sisses...need your advice on a couple of things. I'm an overseas bride and I'm a little bit windang already.

I was born Catholic and my foreign spouse-to-be was born into a Methodist family. Neither of us are devout, although I would like to say we are both spiritual. I was initially thinking of having a civil wedding officiated by a judge. But my wedding date (venue already paid for) is on a weekend, and I'm seeing from everyone's post here that judges/mayors only do weekdays? Does this mean my only option is to have a reverend officiate my wedding on a weekend? If so, does this still fall under the category of civil wedding?

If, let's say, I'm planning to get married in Quezon City and I submit all the requirements for obtaining a marriage license...when do I get the actual license?

Also, I was hoping to have a fun and elaborate civil wedding. I'm pretty sure we'll have over 150 guests locally and from abroad. I was hoping to have a small entourage, do the walk, etc. (I'm actually trying to come up with a program pa). Will this be okay even if its jus a civil wedding?

And, if my only option now is to be married by a reverend, do you guys know any reverends that are open to suggestions from us on how the wedding can be officiated? Like, suggestions on what he should say, etc. Thanks!
