La Union: where to stay?

Sis Kishtel, I visited your site.. You mentioned Nica Serrano in one of your blogn entries. Nagulat ako. She's my cousin kasi. Was she the one who organized the party? Inggit ako! I'm checking Pangasinan and La Union kasi. Been looking for a great place to celebrate our anniversary. So far, TBR is my first bet. Naloloka ako sa rates naman. Gusto ni hubby around 4 days stay. Aba, eh pwede na kaming mag Palawan sa gagastusin namin kung saka sakali..

Sis Maika, sorry ngayon lang ako nakapag-check dito. Yes, Nica organized it. She works for TBR kasi (not sure if until now, but I think so). May promo yata sila these days, around 5.3k for weekends, if I'm not mistaken. Try to contact her na lang din para she can help you. Baka may company discount pa siya that you can use. Hehe.

Chyng, di pa ako nakapag-stay sa mga na-mention mo. Sa San Juan Surf Camp ako usually. Okay naman dun. Yung rooms nila nag-improve na ng sobra. Check mo muna kung may forecast ng waves kasi summer na. Baka flat sea ang maabutan, sayang ang biyahe. Hehe. Okay na yant P400. Pagod ka na niyan, lalo na kung medyo malaki ang mga alon. Have fun!

^ yes sis. i frequently go in La Union.  hehe... especially during the "ber" months kasi matataas ang alon ng mga time na yun tsaka surf break. pero during summer, bihira lang kasi halos everyday, flat yung dagat.

If I'm correct, nasa west side ang La Union, exact location: (http://www.sanjuansurfresort.com/page.php?title=Information). 1 week forecast ata yung nandyan although nagpapalit din agad minsan. Hope this helps.

mga sis, we will be going to la union this april.. meron ba kayong contact no. for se-bay resort? fully booked na kasi sa sanjuan surf resort.. gusto ko sana dun kasi nakapagstay na ko dun before.. kakagulat kasi kahit 1mo pa before kami pumunta, fully booked na sila..

or do you have any suggestions na pwede pag-stay-an, mas ok if near sanjuan or se-bay.

@Chyng: Pwede na ang mga 2-3ft pag beginner at magaan ka lang. Itutulak ka na lang ng instructor for added speed. Ma-ha-high ka pa din nun (or ang babaw ko lang? hehe) Kung may set na talaga na date, daanin na lang yan sa dasal.

haha. parang ayoko na nga ipilit yung La Union trip. hindi nagbabago yung forecast. wala talagang swell.

chyng, 3 feet is fine na. pero do not expect lahat ng waves 3 feet ha. sometime you have to wait pa for the right wave to come.

this is not to turn you off guys pero sa summer kasi mauubos ang time niyo to wait for the waves. ang usually, that's when you get burned sa likod niyo kasi nakadapa lang kayo sa board niyo. sometimes pa nga, i fell asleep. pero baka mag LU din ako sa holy week but not to surf. tambay lang.

natuloy kami last weekend, grabe ang long ride. kawawa ang mga nagddrive. 

anyway, we stayed at Sebay kasi yan lang may barkada rooms. Room for 10 kinuha namin for 5,000 per room, wala bfast.
sa San Juan Beach Resort, mostly good for 2-4 yung rooms. Pero nice din daw sabi ng besfren ko who has stayed there a month ago.
Sa Kahuna, high end. Tumataginting na 24,000 feysus ang room for 10.

surfing: it's effortless. i tried it for the 1st time- and Im surprised I did it. then I tried it the 2nd, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th - naglo-long ride na ko.
..iba talaga pag pinanganak ka sa flooded area ng Malabon. sanay ka sa waves (ng baha.)  haha!

tama yung forecast, maliit yung alon. nung hapon mejo tumaas ng konti.

name nya ay Abbe (or Abi), basta ang kulet nya kahit may edad na.
kwento nya, nakadiscover daw ng place ay mga japanese. so sila sila nagtayo ng surfing resorts etc. nung una nahihiya daw sya kasi matanda na sya para matuto magsurf. buti nalang nagpaturo sya. ngayon almost everyone in their place, may income dahil sa pagiging surf instructor. kakatuwa.
