La Union: where to stay?

Can you just walk into the resort/s? We're going to San Juan this weekend and we still have not been able to contact any resorts despite trying several times. What do you advice? Also, are surf lessons open to anyone (i.e. walk-ins/people who aren't staying in the particular resort)? Hope someone can answer! Thanks.

friday 12am - manila to la union
saturday 6am - arrival at la union
then surf and swim
saturday afternoon - back to manila

^ yup sis pwede! ganun ang ginawa namen eh.. 12mn ng friday ang alis namen ng manila then we arrived around 5-530am in LaUnion. Then surf at around 9am then lunch and another surf in the afternoon and then early dinner. Umalis kame around 7pm in LaUnion then arrived around 2am in Manila --daming stopover kaya haba ng byahe pabalik. So super tulog lang kame sa byahe kase dahil sa pagod. Just make sure to arrange your time na lang with the resort. Kase kame we were charged extra for the early check in then charged ulit ng another night nung saturday night kase ang check out daw was 1pm at umalis kame ng 6pm. So counted as another night na daw yun. Sayang nga eh pwde pa sana magstay kaso lang may lakad kase yung iba ng sunday kaya umuwi nlng kame lahat hehe..

went there just last weekend.
daming tao ha. and malakas ang waves sa san juan resort so we went to bacnotan (tama ba spelling?)

may tournament daw this weekend for all taga Manila (sabi ni K.Mandy, Jericho would be joining daw)

Sis, there's a new resort in San Fernando, La Union. Thunderbird Resort. The place is so nice...para kang nsa greece...may pool din dun, mdyo pricey nga lang pero sobra ma enjoy nyo ang view...

ok bang month of april to learn surfing sa la union? might to there kasi with friends

went there last weekend, there were waves naman.. we stayed at lola nanny's, that's beside sebay resort.. the resort's ok naman but didn't really find the beds really comfortable

^ i asked the instructor when is the best time to go there, he said september-october but if you know a resort's number there maybe you can ask if its a good time to go there because suggestion samin ng instructor is to text him muna kung ok yung waves para hindi masayang yung trip..

my bro, his gf and i went to san juan last thursday...kaya lang we weren't able to surf...there were no waves..as in flat talaga ang dagat..so what we did is we just practiced getting up on the hehe!!!

Help po, paano po mag commute to Thunderbird. We are book for September 24-25 kaso wala kaming dadaling sasakyan, we will ride a bus lang. Please help.

sana po may makahelp, 10 days nalang di ko parin alam paano pumunta ng Thunderbird. Alam ko kasi di sa mismong resort ang babaan ng bus to Thunderbird. Meron kayang jeep or tricycle papunta ng resort?

^ I am sorry but I can't be of any direct help.
Yes, you are right, wala ang Thunderbird sa main highway. So, pagbaba ng bus, you have to ride something else.

You might want to contact Thunderbird, baka they can pick you up somewhere or something of the same arrangement. I am thinking kasi, hindi yun regular na dinadaanan. Hindi din siya kalapitan mula sa highway (soldier monument). I don't think pupunta ang tricycle doon.

and ang mahal pala pag walang promo noh, nasa 7k din per night.. malabo pa kase na makapunta kami this sept to avail their promo. sayang

on a recent trip to la union, we stayed for one night in thunderbird and another night in sebay. after the gorgeous santorini-inspired architecture, the amazing pool, clean bathrooms, and spacious rooms of thunderbird, medyo na-culture shock kami sa budget accommodations sa sebay imho, each serves its target market well. thunderbird is very upscale and is a great choice when you want to relax and get away from manila chaos. you'll definitely feel as if you have the whole place to yourself. sebay naman is great for a budget trip with your barkada when you just want to surf, socialize, and drink beers on the beach

We just spent an overnight stay at Thunderbird, sobrang ganda, we will go back there in November. And ang lapit lang pala nya sa Baguio, just an hour and a half to two hours away, P60 lang pamasahe from Monumento sa San Fernando La Union.
